    The Amish know how to build a house and all by hand. Beautiful.

    I love all the built ins! The more storage the better! You should keep your material for sewing in the built ins of the room w/ the treadles. What fun trying to decide the best places to put things. Enjoy your beautiful new home.

How are you going to get hot water without heating up your house in the summer because all you have is natural air through the windows? And how are you able to use a generator to charge up your lights? Well, you have asked the unanswerable question - I've been able to answer them all until now. LOL We gave the previous owner cash and he left it. We all figured it would be easier if he just bought a new one when he got moved and we wouldn't have to put one together. (Although he did overcharge us by double!! That's another story....) It is steel, not portable, not aluminum. (I did an internet search to see if I could find it for you.) There is no identifying brand on it. I do know it is also available in a couple sizes. Mine is not the largest one - my king size sheets are too big for one side. The local Amish down here sell them, so if you have an Amish community near you, you may want to check with them. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      The camera angles make it look bigger than it really is because we are on a hill. Even thought there are a lot of bedrooms, they are smaller than bedrooms in English homes. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Why would an Anish family sell their farm and home?

    • @appalachianmercantile
      @appalachianmercantile  6 месяцев назад +1

      This particular family moved up to the northern part of the state to help take care of his dad. None of his brothers here could afford to buy the farm, so it sold outside the Amish community. Right after we moved here, a couple Amish families moved to Wyoming to start a community there. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      There was no electric when we purchased the home. The quilt shop has electric and we have put in enough electric in the basement of the main house for the freezers, fridge and now grow lights. Thanks for watching and commenting!
