- Today is the dayyyyy. The day that we move into the cabin Levi and his Dad worked so hard on all summer. The cabin we could have never even dreamt up living in 2 years ago. Our cabin.
We still have plenty to put into place but are so excited about how far we have come. Up next will be our wood shed, Levi's work with the rental skidsteer and wrapping up the garden!

I agree with you and feel that the material on your new sofa compliments your cabin in such a nice way. The carpet you selected goes well and will serve a comfortable purpose of keeping your feet warm after all of your hard work. Henry is learning how to keep himself entertained, which is a big plus for him and the two of you. Wishing you wonderful times in your new home. You both have worked so hard, and you must feel so proud.

an easy way to clean oven racks is to take a large garbage bag...place the racks into it and spray them heavily with an oven cleaner... fold the top of the bag closed and let set overnight. Rinse of with clear water... I use Easy Off cleaner.
You could strip down the camper so you can use the cabinets, the stereo, store the stove, use the microwave and everything else you can utilize and then turn the camper shell into a chicken coop. What do you think?

Seeing your dog hop up on that chair, reminded me of my beautiful late dog I used to have. When my older dog sadly passed away the younger dog would feel safe sitting in our camping chair. She became so attached to them. When we used to take her to a dog kennel when we went on holidays, we had to bring her camping chair with her. We went through so many chairs as she used to break them, when she put all her weight on the arm chairs.

I enjoy your videos and yes no hot water is not a deal breaker. I lived with no hot water tank for 8 years but with a wood stove you can always have hot water in a big canning pot on the stove. You just learn to make do and have a good attitude with a sense of humour which I see you have. Every time I saw that pot of free hot water it made me feel good. And an added bonus you can heat your dinner plates and coffee cup on the wood stove too.
📌 Becca, regarding STAINLESS STEEL, best way to test when the pan is hot enough is to drop some water off your finger onto the pan, when the water drop turns into one small bead that dances across the pan then (and only then) it's ready to cook on & will be non-stick. Also, bring the heat up slowly, you WON'T want to turn on high first then turn down. Before learning this, I hated my stainless steel as everything would stick & clean up was work, now I LOVE my stainless steel pans & clean up is EASY!!!❤😅
P.S. What you say about those nasty PFAS non-stick chemical coatings is TRUE, research it people, and PTFE are types of "forever chemicals" known as a PFA, which can build up in the human body and doesn't break down over time. Those new hexclad cookware have it on/in it too!! Only stainless steel & cast iron is safe to cook & bake with!! And SOME (not all) ceramic coated, if you use then do your research, then do more. I've been sick with fibromyalgia constant PAIN for over 20 years & endometriosis pain for over 43 years, when I got sick my non-stick pans were peeling but I didn't know any better at the time, I DO now.. And Becca you KNOW!! You are going to love your new pans!!🥰
*Suggestion: you are going to need a range hood fan installed over your stove & oven to suck the cooking fumes out of your cabin or everything will smell like whatever you cook. (You likely already know this & it's on your to-do list). Also, I found a nice stainless steel removable hair catch strainer for over my kitchen sink drain on amazon, for us long hair ladies, you may be interested in, came in a 2 pack, will save your plumbing set up. 😉

Becca I love the colours of the couch. Perfect for the space and the design fits into the log cabin feel.
When I watched my non stick frying pans disintegrate, so to speak, I switched to stainless steel. One ‘remedy’… helps a little bit… is to rub some cooking oil in it, before starting to heat up your butter for frying whatever.
BEAUTIFUL. I love the couch. It'll be so much fun moving in and once the shelves are up it'll help with the storage. So happy for you.

My cast iron pans instructions said to preheat pans for 5 minutes before cooking to prevent sticking. That has worked well for me. Your new house looks great!😊😊😊😊
Nice guys!! You should hang your pots and pans above the stove area, you have the room, then put shelves above them! That would look amazing !
spray your oven racks with oven cleaner (a really good spraying) put in black garbage bag -spray somemore then close bag and let sit for a couple of days. all might not come off but most of it will and the rest will be easier to remove, works like a charm

Idea- I remember having a gas stove growing up. I was the oldest sibling. We put masking tape over the stove burner knobs to keep toddlers and newly walking babies from accidentally turning them on. Just an idea. Congratulations on your new house. Take your time and do things on your own time frame. Gos bless!
Good idea, we have a gas stove and when our son was little we just pulled all the knobs off the front and kept them in a container on the back of the stove but our knobs wouldn't turn without the knob!!

Your new house is great, in a beautiful setting as well. Off grid is a bit more work added but personally I think it’s worth it. In our off grid cabin we put giant pots of water on our wood burner in the winter and have more than enough hot water for our needs. No need to use propane to boil for 7 or 8 months in alaska

There are these floorugs made to grab moisture and dirt, made for dogs, really, but it will help you a lot with mud tracking in.. They also are not supposed to slip around.

When u get settled alot of people build a bathroom on and use corated metal or I've seen them use the colored metal around a tub then sink and composting toliet..if I was a woman with a child that would be my next build with a washer and take a pump and connect to spring water..Watch this off grid life they have a set up with spring water...😊
Take a dish towel to fit your broom with ties so you can use that to clean your floor after sweeping.

You should always have the large blade be neutral and the small blade hot. Polarity actually matters on some electronics too.

I use metal shelves, on casters, from Origami, super strong and they fold flat . I love them. Love your little cabin ! Be safe and healthy.
