That's factually true that politicians are generally unlikeable as a lot; being in politics takes an ego that is somewhat unhealthy and filled with insecurity. However, that disapproval of Biden is based on him not un-f***ing in one year the mess that the republicans created in the last four. They did some major damage in four years, he can't overturn it in a year with the pandemic complications. Give a little leeway to Biden to fix some stuff that is quite insidiously complicated from the previous government. In a year of slowly getting to terms with the full effects of COVID on everything I am guessing it is pretty hard to get things back to normal/good-ish in just a year.

I also think you're exactly right about the economy. This is why I got so frustrated when Trump would talk about how the stock market was up. Okay, that's great for some - but it doesn't change the reality for the millions who need to work two jobs (or more) to earn a living wage. It's simply not a great indicator of overall economic health. It's far better to look at unemployment, and UNDERemployment stats - that would paint a more stark picture.

You do not need to look any further than the Supreme court appointee in 2020 vs 2016 (as Bill said). They seem to be doubling down though. The Democrats never accepted Trump's victory and talked about impeachment before he ever even took office. They figured they could get him on Russia, but there was not enough evidence, so when they realized that, they moved on to the next thing. So then that pissed them off and idiot Republicans were more likely to believe the 2020 election was "stolen." Then Biden is President, and Ted Cruz is talking about impeaching him, "just because." We are down a slippery slope and honestly. Both parties are responsible for childish and retalitory behavior (with Republicans probably getting the win strictly because we nominated Trump)..... Long winded way to say, we should not be having "knife fights" but one party needs to step up and just be the bigger team and maybe the other will follow suit.

The filibuster was put in place to force the parties to work together but with social media it has made the US so divisive that Congress can do nothing. Republicans really don't have much to hit Democrats with except culture wars and the dumb Democrats play right into their hands. (Look at the Virginia governor race).
