This is just an astounding interview for so many reasons. Maher asks some great questions. Obama has a sense of humour. Obama gives some thoughtful answers. And in the end, even though they have their differences, there is a level of respect and comradery between them, like strangers with different views, but who both know that they're in this thing together.

What a calm, composed, and completely professional interview. Loved it. It showed a steady-handed president on his way out but not off his handle and a comedian in his lane actually letting his subject speak and keeping his jokes at bay. This is one of the best interviews ever. Props to both.

As a Republican, listening to Obama is so refreshing. Even when we don't agree, I can at least understand his position clearly and directly. Definitely comes across as someone you could have a respectful, rational discussion, even when you are on opposite sides of policy. Unfortunately, I don't see anyone like him in temperament in either party with any real chance making through the primaries.

Watching this for the 1st time in 2018 and it almost makes me weep to see how far the US has fallen since Trump took office. Nice to have a President you can be proud of. People take their cues from whatever news source reinforces their beliefs, so its impossible to reason with those who have been taught to hate everything about Obama from day-1. But ultimately the day-to-day noise disappears and a President's legacy is judged on its merits. And history will judge Obama kindly because he left the country better than he found it. He will be considered a very good President. Not Mt Rushmore good, but definitely in the top 25%. And I, for one, will miss him.

This is just an astounding interview for so many reasons. Maher asks some great questions. Obama has a sense of humour. Obama gives some thoughtful answers. And in the end, even though they have their differences, there is a level of respect and comradery between them, like strangers with different views, but who both know that they're in this thing together.

As a Republican, listening to Obama is so refreshing. Even when we don't agree, I can at least understand his position clearly and directly. This is one of the best interviews with President Obama I've seen. Not only Bill's questions, but President Obama's candid answers. I didn't hear any b.s. Watching this for the 1st time in 2018 and it almost makes me weep to see how far the US has fallen since Trump took office. Say what you will, President Obama possesses everything you want in a leader. He's thoughtful and measured particularly when discussing sensitive issues. He's knowledgeable, compassionate, empathetic, humble, gracious and more. Try and say that about Trump without throwing up in your mouth a little.

Please do remember, the Constitution itself gives us the very right to Rise Against our Government. Instead of using our Right to Bare Arms to do so (as we are given), we instead are using our VOTE to do so.
It's an attempt to dismantle the system enough that they realize a Citizenry that is aware and awake can stop them, can replace them.
Like you said yourself, you don't even particularly care for Hillary... yet somehow still feel into the same trap of voting for her anyway. That's because they controlled you, they gave you the same shit Politicians and you gave them your power with your Vote.
Washington (DC) has got to learn, they serve US.

Why am I commenting?
We all know how our mean comments affect other people because we know how we were hurt by someone else's comment.
We all know this and we all know plenty else about how different the world of texting is from the world of face to face living, etc.
We all recognize and can name the FEELINGS that make us refrain from leaving a comment that we would like to lead: empathy, fear, doubt, ego fragility, etc.
But what is going in when we type and hit ➡️ send?
The primary feeling I believe is akin to the feeling you get after a huge rod of shit curls out of the recesses of your biwels to empty out the hatch and into the toilet bowl water beneath you.
Or as they phrase it in the academy: Relief or Satisfaction.

The sense of relief feels like something important.
Something like how a prayerful person feels after they have said the prayers they are supposed to say.
