    It is July 2024. Back in 2004 during the DNC we had the TV on I remember being in the kitchen preparing some food and I could hear this on in the background. The more he spoke the less I could focus on the work to be done in the kitchen. More and more I started to listen to what this man was saying. I had never heard of him before that time. By the time he got half way through this speech I was standing in front of the TV captivated by his words and how he was delivering them. When he was done I had tears of joy in my eyes with the realization that great days awaited us if only he would choose to run for president. He did. We did. I wish we could have this again. Vote.

      This was my exact experience 20 years ago. In the kitchen, it was on and I wasn't paying attention. Then I heard this voice and eventually made my way to be front and center of the TV. Standing there. For the first time in my life, choking up over a politicians speech. It was unlike anything I ever heard.

      My story is similar than yours. My wife isn't in politics, so I was watching the dummy box while working at something on my computer. After a few minutes, I sat back and began listening to him, (By the way, I'm Canadian). At one point I yelled at my wife who was doing whatever she was doing in the house, to come and listen to this scrawny kid. When she walked in, her first comment was: "WHAT???" To which I replied: "You see this guy? He will be the first black president. He want's me to be an American. I want to live in the America that he's talking about!"

      Obama talks about personal responsibility and the immense opportunities offered in America. The sad reality is this speech would be considered “far right” by woke liberals in 2020. They accept nothing less than a narrative of collective victimhood and that America and white people are evil. Scary to see how far left the left has gone.

    • @Frederick0220
      @Frederick0220 4 года назад +11

      In 2004, Obama was against globalism, illegal immigration, and woke identity politics. The left is so insane in 2020 that they would view a politician with these views as being “far right.” Scary but true.

      Obama talks about personal responsibility and the immense opportunities offered in America. The sad reality is this speech would be considered “far right” by woke liberals in 2020. @@Frederick0220 In reality, Obama's speech was slightly left of center, and regardless of who hogs the spotlight on the far-right or far-left the majority of the country still resides closer to the middle than what is covered by the media. The left isn't insane, nevertheless, you may find the far-left a political threat and that's okay, but at least you can vote them out with your ballot. Contrast that with the far-right who US Intelligence agencies say poses a violent national security threat to American's...and that puts our nation in jeopardy at an entirely different level.

      Obama's father is idealized as a great man who worked hard and walked the right path who dreamed of enabling his son's dreams. Read Obama's actual auto-memoir "The Color of Water". His dad was a wife beating deadbeat who left his son during his infancy. Obama spent less time with his father than people spend sitting next to a guy on the train on a morning commute. Deductive thinking - if he's able to so seamlessly lie about the most basic foundations of his identity and family, what else is (or isn't) he lying about?
