Fun Fact: this is the last game that had Porsche on it, because at the time, Square was still distributed together with EA in United States, until Forza Motorsport 3
I believe this and Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero were the last non-NFS games to feature licensed Porsches before EA made the exclusive deal that (finally) ran out in 2017. Curiously, the two Porsches featured in this game are the Boxster S and the 911 GT3 (996), both of which had RUF counterparts (the 3400S and the RGT) featured in Gran Turismo 3 a year later.
Im guessing this game came before EA made the deal with Porche, same with TXR0 which had a Porsche 964, later in TXR3 is replaced my Gemballa probably because of EA and porsche
@@aenoofficial you are right, the 911 GT3 is indeed in the game hided in the game files and is fully functional, the reason of this car to be in the game hided is because of the creator, yamaguchi (sorry if it is wrong) he had this porsche in real life, and it wanted to put it in the game because of how much he loved the car, sadly porsche didn't allow him to get it in the game due to EA deal with porsche.

Not really, PGR 1 and 2 and Forza 1 all have Porsches.

technically, TXR0 did not have any licensed cars. All they did was remove the badges
@@ragufilms5025 yeah and they change the name of the car like Mazda to Madda on RX7 to avoid copyright
Square probably got away from the Porsche exclusivity because of their own publishing deal with EA at the time (Square Electronic Arts).
In spite of that, Porsche did appear in several other non-NFS games: GT Legends and GTR 2 from 2005 and Race Driver Grid from 2008.
@@ArtKoval pgr1 and pgr2 had porsche
I must find this game! All the '99 JGTC machines in post-ps1 graphics! Thank you for this!
Never heard of this game but I saw an NSX so I clicked 😎
I'm watching this on my old CRT TV through my PS3 and it looks incredible
@John i have, but this is better
9:16 was the EA x Porsche exclusivity not a thing in 2000?
Im guessing this game came before EA made the deal with Porche, same with TXR0 which had a Porsche 964, later in TXR3 is replaced my Gemballa probably because of EA and porsche
@Soundwave 47 But Gran Turismo 3 had the Porsche 911 GT3 which was removed, likely due to licensing, so I'm not sure.

How did this game manage to get the Ferrari license six years before Gran Turismo did
Most of the 43 cars in Driving Emotion Type S are also in Gran Turismo 2.
My first racing game on PS2!
Cool 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
What do you record your pcsx2 gameplay with?
I'm using ShadowPlay to record the gameplay (sometimes im using FRAPS too).
@@xTimelessGaming Ok thank you!
Reupload?
Wonder why they took it down?
yeh.. on previous video i missed a few cars. lol xP
There's 2 Ferrari Cars but why no American Cars like Ford/Chevrolet/Dodge in Driving Emotion Type S in the Game?
Ikr that's what I was thinking too
Gotta love these Gran Turismo wannabes
Gran Turismo didn't have a cockpit view back then.
@John At least I'm not thinking with one.
The PS1 and PS2 era gave us a lot of obscure Japanese racing games, yeah.
Come think of it, you uploaded this one the other day. Why did you take it down?
I missed a few cars on previous video. 😅

Its funny becuase most of the models are like the same as gt2 but with some visual updates.
Wait. Is this a reupload? Still glad I purchased this off Ebay

It would be a great pleasure, if you tell me your PC specs.

This is the last game with Porsche, as Citroën merged with it, until Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
And it's the last NON-NFS that had these on it. Because of now Mercedes had their counterparts (SLK, SL55 AMG) that we can find in Gran Turismo 4.
i remember this game, very underrated
Never knew Square made racing games.
'Never knew Square made racing games.'
why porsche is in this game is that Square Enix had made a deal with EA atm. If only this game was made by EA...
Also, this game's last unlockable car is NISSAN CUBE(and TS020). It is painfully slow.
Do more gran turismo 4 plz
Sorry, i didn't do GT4 anymore..
He literally has hundreds of videos already..
