This raft is less of a starter raft and more of a mid/endgame raft. It has things like the toy robot, dev paintings, and Tangaroa plants. Since you can only get these in chapter 2, it's the most endgame that you can get currently.
This raft IS a starter raft. And a pretty good looking one in my opinion. Just because he added a few items from late game, doesn't automatically exclude the entire raft from the starter category. You can still make this raft in early game without items from late game.
3:06 Him: remember this is a starter raft and you are going to need a lot of storage Me: Then why are you not using the normal storage which holds 6x the amount!!!
This is quite a pretty little raft, but it's very misleading to say this is a starter raft. Most starting players are running around trying to collect things, the way this raft is laid out you don't have access to a lot of your sides, and only having what, 5 nets, nope, you need more than that so you have time to sit still and build while the nets collect things. Like I said this is a beautiful build but not a starter raft for normal players.
When he said plants, i was excited for wall of potato/beet farms in the kitchen, tree/medium plots above. But tangaroa plants do make everything look nice and cozy.
I've been waiting for this episode ever since the renovation update came out. Great job man at almost achieving 4k subs. It has been a fun journey, keep going!
He could just send them the world file. No mods necessary. You can find the file location of your world using bot commands on the official raft discord.
@@vantrillo6360 True, however the mod just packages the world files into a single file that's easier to find and share. Better for folks who don't feel like digging around.
A day late & had subscribed a while back. Also, love the look, & learned something new (starting squares are new spawn point). As a tip, sighting you liking of boarded windows, check out Sublimity's channel for how to have the look without needing to keep a platform on either side of the wall. They also have one if you want to reduce issues with collisions of crafted items with structures created by the building hammer (4:45 w/ trashcan), for when close isn't good enough.
@@RyeGamesOfficial As you pointed out, the community helps each other, so I am glad to help & give the advice of looking at your other content creators for tips. And while I may not be able to take the time to go through all the blogs/boards/forums on a subject I like (officially only starting Raft earlier this year, though was intrigued by several channel here on YT & am grateful for your content as well) because of my current life situation, it does not mean I want to fall behind (& you seem to be the only one on YT posting about Dev's blog for Raft). I have seen several of your priors as well, & hope to have more soon too but here is a quick recap & thoughts on the content question. The Juicer & scrap crusher I am interested in for the game but will have to wait until the release to know more. With the look of the smoothies containers, I wonder if one can place them as an item (like the Mug) &/or if they're going to (possibly) make all of the Cooking Pot also placeable as well. It would be nice emergence bit if one could pick up an item to use that way IMHO... On the Collection nets, they do look better. If Redbeet does a modify/upgrade to them in order to hold more (up to 20 items), I would like them to also 'accidently' catch some fish as well (caught in the flotsom, or net itself as an explanation for). The horizontal pillars I will like, for it could give a scaffolding aesthetic/build/feel for some build/project. Now if they only had a metallic look... On the new material/textures for build, I do agree with you that Redbeet should have metallic ones & have an idea how it could be done in game. For building material consumption, use the ratio for "thatched" items as a base (maybe increase the wood portion by one) & have the metal component (possibly reduced to one) be in place of the palm leaves. As for simple looks, again take the thatched wooden frame for simple & place an appropriate metal layer to the item model (hammered out & riveted sheets for Scrap use, course hammered dark-gray plates for Metal, bronze hammer sheets for Copper). For a "Solid" metallic items cost should baseline off the simple look, but items used is one more appropriate metal part & have it look like a finishing/smoothing hammer was used to flatten out the sheets better & have one for Titanium (though at one ingot per) & have a near-mirror like finish. On a mud/stucco appearance for building 'blocks,' again start with an equivalent thatched item but half the palm leaves for clay usage (leaves support the clay as the wood supports the leaves) for a simple (again, using the wood frame of a thatched equivalent as a base) while bringing the material cost up by one the wood & clay for a "solid" wall (slightly modified & retextured 'solid wood' version of). The stone wall look could be done the same, though I have the hardest time justifying in my mind other than flooring.
Like every of your Videos, nice and helpful. I am playing this game like since beginning and I don't knew the floating Floor trick and now I know, but sadly Raft don't makes as much fun as in the past. I hope that I will have more fun with the game if Chapter 3 comes out. Thank you for your Videos, they even help me like yeah... So make more of this stuff that my raft will look a bit better because now its only a big block xd Hope you will stay like this and thanks!
this is really not an ultimate starter raft, you waste so much resources for decoration, you plan for BPs we don't have, this ain't what I wanted from an ultimate starter raft. Was expecting an efficient build that maximes resources and utility vs space and leaves decorations up to me...
I'd say some areas could have used far less. Also, candles imo are a hilariously bad choice considering they can fall over and cause a fire which destroys the whole raft. (Realistically ofc) but yeah. Aside from that it does look good In most places
Thumbs down! This is not whatsoever a starter raft. This is advanced raft. Host is braindead. Starter raft is needed to work on finding sand and clay to go into furnace tech. And no you don't have a furnace early game which is by definition since early game signifies prior to getting the bricks needed, and researching/crafting a furnace. And claiming early game which is defined by prior to unlocking/crafting furnace. Which this clearly is after. Not to mention wood is extremely scarce in the early game. You need to use the bare minimum because you always need more wood to eat/drink/expand. Here is an example of actual starter raft that users are searching YT for: i.img ur.c om/hd3Tso4.jpeg i.img ur.c om/HqjgBWT.jpeg Note the triangles are there on each corner due to shark preferring to attack corners. And seems to always go for the triangles. The only mistake of this raft is using the wrong wood for triangles due to thinking it's stronger. It's actually is not so it's best to use the regular base wood since wood is super scarce. The only thing to use the alternate wood on is to designate two of the four starting squares diagonally. So they are properly referenced. It's difficult to see in the image under the anchor and diagonally under the research table.

tbh he just decorated it you can prob just not include those items

:0 how did he add to that 13k subs :0
in 3 months
Dang, I was excited when my starter raft had a grill, water purifier and one potter for potatoes lol
LOL I was jumping for joy when I had my row of collection nets stuck on a 2 tile wide 'home'.😂
Good job dude! really looking forward for more vids like this, it was really satisfying to watch :)
Forgot the research table, that's pretty important at the start
I think you are the best yotuber Who makes video about Raft
You're an amazing RUclipsr and you make great content! Keep up the good work!!
My rust self said in the beginning JUMP UP
Like a grian build tutorial but Raft-edition, Lol. Awesome video!
"Starter" - Before you get enough wood to build this...you are nowhere near the start.
thanks i suck at making my raft look nice so i will try this xD
been with u since u had a few hundred and i dont regret a second

Sweet raft, I am going to have to try building something like this for my series.
Been waiting for years for this game to be available on Xbox or on a Mac :(
I just found your channel but I'm huge fan already. I love that someone else loves raft as much as I do. Great work man
Thank you so much slappa!!
nice, but when im building my raft i always keep it asymmetrical as posible, it kinda disturbing if i dont keep it balance
Can't wait 4 this
what I am wondering is why there are tangaroa plants on a starter raft since tangaroa in end game
It's way easier to get paint than it is to get some of those decor items.
I will definitely be replicating the cubby for clutter.
Is the onlyone cute raft on RUclips please do more , the other rafts are Big and ugly
this channel is awesome :D btw thank you so much this design is really cool!
Thank you so much!
