Timing the moment you jab the spear in Bruce’s face also works wonders. Also there is this glitch with placing red carpets on the floor, items on the carpet can intersect each other. Afterwards you can remove the carpets and the items will stay in place. I placed my bbq in between the anchor👌
A neat little inventory trick is to use (or change) your 'unload inventory' button. Default, is y, but you can change it to any key. By using it, when you enter a chest, just push that button and it will automatically take any items out of your inventory that match what's in the chest. It makes putting away net items super fast and easy, so long as you have an organized storage system.

If you're referring to the option of spacing out foundations, on the outer rim to prevent Bruce from eating your raft pieces. Yes, that trick still works. You just place one foundation every four blocks, one row out further than the rest of your foundations, and Bruce, for whatever reason, will stop eating your raft.
Great video! You can also just take any spear to Bruce the Shark and instead of jumping, just stay in the water and attack half a second early when he comes at you. If hitting him first, his hitbox disappears for his bite and he just swims past you - no hit and you can mine another ore or 2 while he's swimming away!
Using Bruce as a really good food source in multiplayer if you're strong enough and have good tools such as the iron spear You can take down bruce quite easily every 3 minutes and get quite a bit of food out of him in just 30 minutes

For anyone playing hard mode, I would recommend not killing Bruce. Once you kill him, the game will spawn two of them which gets super annoying. But if you don't kill him, there will always be only one Bruce. As for securing food early game, the best way in my opinion is to make a bird nest. Fishing gets super tedious because you can't really do anything once you cast the fishing rod. Where as the bird nest, you can do other stuff until the bird to land and kill it.
Better Bruce fighting tip: Face him head on and attack a half second after he opens his mouth. You will hit him before he hits you and it cancels his attack. Can go the entire game fighting hundreds of Bruce's without getting hit once.
I hope the devs don't fix the triangle floor hack. I think the only reason why they did not fix it is because there are so many rafts that would almost certainly be decimated. But beware other hacks have been fixed over the years and so you should never trust that they will continue. I was unaware of the new watermelon hack. The old watermelon hack that the devs fixed was to eat part of the watermelon and then place it on the cooking pot and then pick it back up and it would be whole again. My favorite hack that the devs unfortunately fixed in chapter 2 was the swim speed hack. You used to be able to wear multiple flippers which made you able to wear up to 5 sets of flippers. It was an insane 5x swimming boost. It was fun playing with Bruce at those speeds.
There's also a better way to defeat Bruce... When you're underwater, as soon as he charges at you you want to swim backwards (s) and left click immediately aswell. Then whe will swim right through you, without attacking and you will have dealt damage to him. then when hes swimming away you can deal 2 more blows to his tail, therefor you hit him 3 times with your spear and he didn't hit you once. Just be careful if hes coming from below that you have space to dive above you, so that you can move backwards withough going out of the water.
@@dustyrose192 You literally just have to hold shift (the sprint button) and s at the same time and left click with a spear (not a machete) as soon as he charges at you. But if it's too laggy or something it's fine haha The only real benefit to my method is that you actually deal damage to him and that you can dodge him while underwater. But your method works wonders too. Especially when the spear is broken.
A lot of people talking about attacking Bruce right as he lunges, which requires timing. A much easier, less skill, way to attack him is use the Crouch "CTRL" button. Before he even starts lunging at you, just press and hold CTRL and as you sink he will attack over you. Allowing you to hit him as he passes over you and to turn around and continue to hit him.

Bruce is easy with the bow or a spear (I find the machete has too short a reach with too much windup to be an effective weapon)- let him get close and just shoot/stab as soon as he opens his mouth, then 180 and get a 2nd hit in. With the bow you should kill him in 5 passes every time without the issue of being in and out of water messing with your visibility. Assuming you hit all your shots, the Bow will kill 6 sharks before breaking, the Metal Spear will kill 4 sharks. You CAN use the wooden spear, but it takes 30 hits so will consume 1 1/2 wood spears- so you CAN do it early game once you have an anchor to stop your raft from sailing away from you, but it will be resource consuming.
Fuel consumption: You don't need a HUGE beehive farm and a bunch of refiners. Even 6 engines will drain 1 Tank in 8 minutes which is the time it takes for more Honeycomb to spawn in your hives. So just make sure you refill your refiners frequently and you will always have plenty of fuel without needing to farm a lot and have a ton of Tanks. 2 biofuel tanks is all you really ever need, just pay attention to your refiners and hives and you will be fine.
the best trick for me is 7:23 the placement of the large storage. You can place twice as many storages and even put a half wall or window wall in front for signs. Brilliant
if you hit the shark in the face at the right timing he cant bite you either. you can use sideways pillars to build as large of an area you want without adding more foundations, foundations can be made single by just putting a pillar ontop of it and destroying the foundations attached, half pillar between foundation and first floor gives you good space for hiding pluming. normally you cant place pipes without a surface being below it, but if you place pipe on the surface above where you want to float pipe you can then place the pipe against it and remove the filler pipe once your pipe is connected to an inlet or outlet.
When you get the sail, and are moving through a stream of materials.. You can turn the sail backwards and angle it slightly to move verry slow.. slow enough to gather most of the junk easily with the hook and also tweak it, to get stuff you can't reach normally.
Here is a nice little tip for fighting the shark - Shoot him with the bow before he bites you to stop him, then spam left click while clipped into him. He gets one attack and you melt him, along with bow durability. Ez
You can put large storage lockers inside of a wall so they appear flush so long as it’s touch string lights initially. Then just remove the string lights. Kinda like the floating floor trick
for bruce i just go in the water with an iron spear and swim backward when he open his mouth i simply attack him wich cancel the bite animation. so basicly as long you dont miss him you can kill him without even beeing hurt while 100% in water. i head out of water to take a few breath when i hit him to not drown.
6:40 if you have enough metal arrows you could keep shooting him as soon as he gets close and then he won't hit you and would run away and if u don't miss you get all your arrows back
Ziplines only need a one "unit" drop, no matter how far out they go (max zipline is around 650 units which is WAY beyond render range). You can make flying platform outriggers with a zipline on them to easily zipline to islands you are passing by without getting anywhere near them. Why do this? Bruce stays near the boat, not the player: if you are on land he defaults to circling the raft leaving you completely free to scavenge underwater. You don't have to actually steer towards islands. Just set the sail to the wind, anchor when zipline hits island, zip over, dig treasure, get supplies, zip back. It's so much fun ziplining everywhere (I have a zipline flying city 200 units above my raft).
sounds very very interesting but i'm having a hard time visualizing this. One of the ziplines is on your boat and the other end....? is on a floating platform or something, quite a distance away from your raft?
@@jaspermartin7444 Yes, you have to build out with foundations (I go at least 250) then construct a flying platform or some other flying structure that the zipline will attach to. Next you destroy all the foundations. It might be possible to build out to the full 680 zipline length and leave the foundation at the end, but I think it might collide with some of the bigger islands.
When bruce about to bite you, use bow to shoot he will run back come again do this again and again you will be able kill bruce by use 10 - 15 metal arrows without taking damage
You can actually farm sharks, you just need a bow and a bunch of arrows. Hit it with the arrow as soon as it opens the mouth to bite you, you gonna cancel the attack.
If you reinforce all the blocks on your raft, Bruce (the shark won't attack your raft) so he's a go-to for food and save his head trophy for later on in games for bio fuel.
To dodge Bruce and his many clones, Simply press forward and left/right if you don't have any flippers. With flippers, simply press left/right to strafe out of the way. To dodge the Bird, Take aim, and before it drops the rock, run forward. It will always land behind you if you are facing the bird. The Boar, press left or right of its charging attack, staying a little away from it or it will grab you if your too close. The Rats, Similar to the Boar, move out of the way left/right/back when it lunges, has melee attack so, dodge/hit/back away/repeat. Bear, been awhile since I encountered them. I think bows are the safest way.
Bears are actually pretty slow at attacking, I've been able to kill a lot of them just by running in circles around them while hitting them because of their slow attack animation. Just try to stay behind them, when they turn to face you, strafe behind them again as they wind up for their attack, and they'll miss you. You can keep doing this till they're dead.

Another way to kill bruce is to wait for him to come towards you and right before he bites you, you stab him with a spear and he does zero damage. Idk how but it works.
They patched the 'disappearing' animals from waves.✔️...also now, if they get loose, they always stay on the raft... Hunger won't kill them either, they just look sad and droop. 👍😝
with bruce theres too many ways to kill him. You can cancel his attack by hitting when he lunges and when you crouch when he lunges most of the time he wont hit you
I have 3 different size llamas, with the tallest llama u can only see a bit of the screen while carrying her it thought it was a bug or something when I fisrt pick it up
I love how silly you look carrying the tall ones from 3rd person perspective lol I have a tiny one and I always lose him because I mistake him for one of the goats
Just armor the outside layers of the raft, he won't attack inside blocks... You can still make a sacrifice plankway of two or three blocks, and he will stick to those, while you work on something else... Not sure about' every 4th block' .. but any lone block sticking out will attract the shark.
Hunger/Thirst were the main reason i sacked this game off early on. I felt like it had so much potential and i couldnt wait to sink hours in but the speed you need to eat/drink and how fast things break just demoralized me quickly. Every minute between doing whatever, you had to stop, boil some water, drink some water, refill some water, cook fish, eat fish etc. by time your fishing rod breaks you've eaten through most of your catch and ready to rinse/repeat and just becomes mind numbing. this guy needs more food/drink than eddie hall in his prime ffs. eat an entire fish and its about 5% appetite. the fk.
Shame at present they have a awful bug that makes the engines disappear I lost 2 yesterday. Just poof gone. and before i get "weren't they on armoured" Whole raft is armoured and still "poof....gone" Not a good look for a game thats been out months to still have game breaking bugs

If you have more recipes then can be added to the cooking pot you can turn the recipes to the side to fit more on.

Placing the first small crop plot under the first research table protects it from seagulls and leaves it accessible.
