I know it doesn’t help you (Reid), but anyone who tries this challenge: When placing something, move the *point* of your cursor to the very corner so that only ¼ of whatever you’re placing is on the raft. Then turn it 45 degrees and bam, you saved *a lot* of space. And you can craft a one-time-use throwable anchor out of some stone and plastic, which uses a tiny amount of space. And a very helpful trick many rafters don’t know: If you poke Bruce right when he charges at you, he won’t hit you. It takes some practice, but saves you a lot of damage
If you do something similar again, if you leave the last bit of the shark corpse it takes longer for the shark to respawn (it despawns the corpse before starting the respawn timer), Also, it is possible to kill the big bear rather than distracting it, but it is really difficult. Only really useful if you want the achievement.
I was playing with 3 other friends and we each used dozens of arrows each to kill the mama bear. Took fucking forever but we were so happy to have done it .
Tell me why I just found out reinforced foundations are invincible. I always thought it just increased the health and didn't want to "waste" metal on it
If you're planning to use it on a bigger raft: Bruce does not attack inner foundations, so only the outer ones have to be reinforced to prevent shark attacks.
@@rangeldino2633 Sadly, I found that out AFTER reinforcing my entire raft. I had read that he would attack inner foundations, but missed that it was patched :/
In the early days of the game it actually only increased the foundations HP IIRC; and Bruce had a nasty habit of eating the inner foundations if you reinfore the outer ring... but that was before the Vasagatan was implemented
Raft is a really cool game. I would love to see a series where every episode you pick s challenge from the comments and use that for the episode. Would be funny to see how the raft looks at the end with all the challenges haha.
me and a mate of mine have done this exact thing but on hard mode where more sharks spawn every time one dies, its highly difficult to feed both of us but a strat when theres 2 people on a boat is to have a bed and make sure you dont die at the same time as eachother lol. we've completed the game like this and i suggest you try it too (not just reid, but you, the person reading this) its the most difficult thing we can think to do in vanilla raft
Really enjoyed this! Would be cool to see you try and do the rest of the chapters with minimal footprint too! Maybe have a limit to how many storagechests and such. With the new crossbeams you should be able to build something pretty interesting :)

I haven't tried going further yet, but I still have the save so maybe someday I'll beat the entire game of raft with no raft... Also, put your first crop plot under your research table to stop the dang birds. Also, also... Bruce will not attack your raft if you are not on it. The 5 min counter still runs so he'll attack it immediately when you get back on. Dang it, another edit: don't harvest Bruce's head. There is both a despawn AND a respawn timer for him. Sail does not increase speed. This was a fun video, small points aside. You got a new sub.
Uh, you mean no *additional* foundations? It's literally impossible to progress in Raft without a raft, because the game world is spawned around your raft and not you the player.

I've tried a no-foundation raft but got accumulating errors AI_StateMachine.Shark.FindBlockToAttack. I had to cancel the attempt as the playerlog exceeded 50MB.

Actually, Bruce respawns after 3 minutes. But you can extend the time to 8 minutes if you don'T fully loot him and leave the head. Because it takes 5 minutes for the shark carcass to despawn and then 3 minutes after the shark carcass is gone, the next Bruce spawns.
GAME IDEA: Play brick rigs!!! I think it could get a nice amount of views and not to mention, be fun for you to play around in!! It's a sandbox game that you can build literally anything you want out of Legos! You can also make detailed contraptions with said Legos! It's super interesting and I think it could do your channel well! :)))
Well, thanks to the new horizontal struts its actually possible now to build sideways over the foundations so it should be possible to build everything you need on the first level. Okay, except engines maybe.

Early on it might make sense to not fully loot Bruce but those heads are great for the bioreactor. Also Bruce, unlike seagulls, won’t attack your raft if you aren’t on it. You don’t need to guard it while looting an island.
You should play stormworks. Stormworks is a world where you design, create and pilot your own air sea rescue service. In stormworks you need to rescue those in need. But there is also a creative mode where you can build anything! (stormworks is like scrap mechanic but waaaay more advanced and has better physics)
You dont need to keep the blueprints once you grab them, you can just throw them out as soon as the thing tells you you can research the item in the bottom right of your screen

just had a cool idea: can you build a silvester rocket? i bet you cant (u are allowed to upscale it must contain: -rocket motor -explosion that sends out several more delayed explosions (-break itself apart so kids can search for the stick and be happy for an imagined lightsaber wodden stick)
Since it is only 1 foundation, I would've made 4 pillars, and that would have given me loads of space, and looking at how raft works I could just build up until I don't need anymore space
Next challange try beating a scrap mechanic warehouse with only a 16x16 block platform as everything you can build (vehicle + every single thing you have on it)

@@rraaiin Well...yes and no. My experience was that for multiplayer it was hit and miss (pun intended) if you weren't the host.
You can also use arrows to stop Bruce, if you so choose

Fun tip: you can loot Bruce for everything except the shark head, and he'll leave you alone until his body despawns, and after the regular 5 minutes

The last time I saw (and played) Raft was about 2 years ago, and it looks much more in-depth now. Maybe I should revisit it sometime.
