Turning 41 today....I've listened to this for over a decade now and I only can hope I can relive this song and dance in 20 more years. Thank you for setting my soul on fire. ❤

My favourite song in the world. When I heard the first chord of this song I felt incredibly happy, but when I saw Dave Matthews Band live for the very first time, my heart and entire body was shaking. I cried so bad. it was beautiful. Hugs from Mexico
Very similar,.... this song captured me and took me away when i first heard it it immediately became one of my favorites and still is. It took a cpl of years then I saw them live at Red Rocks in '95, and they completely blew us all away, a cpl of years later they put out an album of that show, I can't begin to tell you how awesome it is to have an album of a phenomenal live show I had dreamed of going to for years, and was finally at. Life can be pretty awesome some times.

"I will go in this way, and find my own way out." One of my fav lyrics of all time. It speaks to me of someone that WILL do things there own way dam logic or consequence. That's just what it says to me though. I want to get it tattooed on my forehead. 🧚♀️
I love DMB. My hubby and I moved to Cali for his job in our 50s. Loved all of our 60 icons. But we fell in love with D. I’ve seen the. 9 times in 10 yrs. love love love
+James Allen James, have you given the Live at Luther College version from some years ago a listen? That's my favorite hands down. Reminds me of a very special woman and a magic time in my life about 100 years ago.
I first heard this song 5 years ago, had no idea who was playing or how I might find it, but I spent months searching with just the opening lyrics and a bit of the intro in my head. Since then not a day has gone by without listening to it. I am so thankful for the talent of Dave and Tim. Yes indeed :)
I'm in Barbados with my pregnant woman, my best friend, the love of my life. She didn't know DMB before me. I love your stories and I'm so happy you and your amazing band made it to the #rockandrollhalloffame
I will go in this way... pure God given talent right here Dave and Tim thank you I wouldn't take more than I need it melts into wonder ... the way rain comes down

peace brother!
Have you ever been moved to tears by a song that you have no clue of the meaning behind it?
Cool... Me either... 👀😭
This song gives me goosebumps, no matter how many times I listen to it, nor what version I listen to.
@@bethderrick3975 every time ❤

This song clearly describes my beautiful daughter ❤ that died from a drug overdose 💔 in 2017. This was her favorite song 🎵
This song is really sad. Look up the meaning. It's about betrayal, greed and just pushing forward.

Come and see
I swear by now I'm playing time

I'm in the front
The play on time is won
But the difficulty is coming here
I will go in this way

All at once the ghosts come back
Reeling in you now
What if they came down crushing
Remember when I used to play for
All of the loneliness that nobody notices now
I'm begging slow I'm coming here
Only waiting I wanted to stay
I wanted to play
I wanted to love you
I'm only this far
And only tomorrow leads my way

Amazing
The way the rain...
The way the rain comes down on you...
The way the rain....
easily the best thing to ever happen in music period..
If this doesn"t move you, you have no pulse.
the 12 dislikes are from the musically challenged. Best song ever period.
There from Jamaicans saying dis I like.
The best live version with Tim even after all these years still love this song, really enjoyed Tim’s lead guitar at the end. Outstanding!
Acho q nunca vou enjoar dessa música
Volta e meia lembro dela e venho aqui.
Tim Reynolds’s solo and I understanding on how to play with Dave’s rhythm and singing is beyond next level !!!!! A true master class
I would be the guy at 3:25. Standing there in complete fascination

Isn't it amazing how so few lines of such beautiful lyrics put to such beautiful music can say so much for so many people?
I wanted to stay, I wanted to play, I wanted to love you...
Tim Reynolds grand finale to this song was EPIC!
0:45 LMAO Dave didn't want the crowd clapping so he just slowed the tempo down and glanced over at Tim to see if he heard the change 🤣
This is got to be his best performance of this song, this and then Luther. Also the John Mayer collab is actually pretty fun too.
I absolutely adore this song.
Hands down my favorite song
"I will go in this way, and find my own way out." One of my fav lyrics of all time. It speaks to me of someone that WILL do things there own way dam logic or consequence. That's just what it says to me though. I want to get it tattooed on my forehead. 🧚♀️
ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!!
Dave's vocals were incredible this whole set, but on this song he is especially phenomenal. so haunting and beautiful it's beyond comparison.
Damn, the singing in this version is amazing...
Really is
This was supposed to be my wedding song. Sad day when she went away.
I wanted to stay. I wanted play. I wanted love you.
The song’s about a breakup though (with Dave’s former manager, that is), why would it be a wedding song
Loving the guy at about 3:29 that is just standing there like "mind=blown" :p
I’ve always wondered who that guy in the crowd is at 1:55
Are you out there?
I swear Dave's voice is so on-point in this recording that it almost sounds auto tuned
its cause it is.
@@adamrudofker6220 really?
@@StickyGelatin HAH I knew it. Right when he says “I wanted to… *love* *you* ”??
If it is… that’s ok. They used the perfect amount, IMO.
You can hear the auto tune mess up in the song. He is definitely using it.
This needed to be posted in HD. Thank you sir.
I said crash into me was my favourite, well this ones another favourite :)
Same here
Ditto! So many songs from this night!!
I saw this live in the pouring rain and was other worldly divine beyond this realm of

You're very lucky. I should say " so damn lucky"! 41st song they wrote.
Its so hard when this song defines everything
you can just feel that this right here helps find a part of our true purpose to this life
2Why won't you run
In the rain and play
Let the tears splash all over you"
:)
Ever. Then again I say that about basically every song on this particular night!!!!!
I would love the tab to that solo.
This is the best version hands down
Acredito que esta seja a melhor versão de 41.
I’m coming waltzing back and moving into your head…
i coming slow but speeding, the inner cinlifct of that juxtaposes every relationship
Notice the lack of the fucking phone screens fruitlessly capturing a fraction of what is taking place. This is how it should be, folks.
damn good song but if you're crying from listening then you're probably a depressed 17 year old girl :'(
❤❤❤
Dave's been my favorite for over twenty years. It'd border on obscene to adore him more than I already do.
3:47 Time Traveler
I know right so little passion goes into music these days.
Isso é realmente incrível. Como falaram aqui... é algo que te leva a uma outra dimensão...
This (again...but really) make me wish youtube had a simple "repeat" button at the control panel.
right click then select LOOP
Best rendition imo.
+James Allen James, have you given the Live at Luther College version from some years ago a listen? That's my favorite hands down. Reminds me of a very special woman and a magic time in my life about 100 years ago.

Damn this chicken is good
Pffft underrated comment 🤣
This is and has always been my favorite song. And this is arguably the best version other than maybe Hampton Coliseum.
I'm crying :'(
I love Dave Matthews!! 💘 I am a sax fan though!! I miss Leroi 😢
That guy below the girls at 3:24 is totally in love with dave matthews...lol
Wonderful 🎶😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
5:19 Tim’s little riff gave Dave goosebumps
Tim is awesome, goes from melody, solo then to playing the acoustic like a bass.
couldn't have said it any better myself
wow, finally I get to see a damn good quality vid on #41.. thanks a gazillion

When Tom Hanks plays the guitar....
I will never get over Tim Reynolds. He’s phenomenal.
Thanks for the tip on the three wise men
Does anyone else think the boomers are the Titans and Gen x are the Olympians???????
Did anyone else find the Latin name for Jerusalem to be oddly "arrows Olympus"
This song never disappoints. Accoustic or full band!
This is from a higher plane of existence...
why does dave have personality penned on his hand?

Wow nobody?

Anyone knows what means the quote on Daves left hand?
Apparently he tells a story about a man with pre- conditioned personality disorder
Beautiful
Nome dessa música linda? 😍😍😍

Tim is good!!
Tim is GREAT!
Tim is palying a D35, what is Dave playing?
+JC Schwartz I believe its his signature dm3md. I could be wrong, as i cant see his signature on the inlay, but its definitely a custom.
I think its a hd28v
+JC Schwartz Could well be. Sounds FIT either way.
Its definitely not the DM3MD since there is no signature and the neck and back don't seem to have wedged pieces of wood, but yes, both are very nice.
+JC Schwartz looking at the headstock though there is clearly a change in wood tone in the center of the headstock just like the DM3MD
