I love the rear seat gunner view. I'm gonna sit there for hours. I can also see how this will be used to dramatize sequences for mini-documentaries on the Pacific war by youtube creators and such. Truly stunning.
@@thecircusfreak5364 Well, yeah, sure @rocketmancmbn exaggerates quite a bit in his praise, but if it helps with the morale, I'd rather have too much support than not enough ^^ (at least our New Orleans cruisers have main turrets, so there's that small nitpick I guess in the AAA department😁)
You haven't seen much then. Yes, the water looks* decent enough , i especially like the water tails created by ships, which seems to last longer than most other games. But the best water effects would definitely be in world of warships. All thing considered, world of warships definitely has some of the best water effects as a result of many years of graphics development. War thunder also has decent water effects especially the water physics when the ship cut through but still not as good as WoWS. But yes not a fair comparison since WoWs has been around for much longer and developed by a overall larger studio with more budget and manpower so it is understandable...
It will look so cool when all the graphics are polished and there is a full deck of idling aircraft ready for a mass strike and all taking off in a huge wave.
I love the views ! Is it possible to add an option to add a subtle head movement. For instance when a ship comes about you may want the camera to be fixed as if you were a sailor on a catwalk watching the action but in real life your head would slightly move by the movement of the ship and it takes like a second for your body to react to that. I’m not sure if that makes sense, you see it in some flight sims. Great work like always ! I hope you’re feeling better now !
Hello! Thanks :) We'll see, along with camera shaking during explosions & the rest. But gotta say the work on all of this is now put on hold as we come back to the rest of the game. As far as we're concerned this is good enough for now. I expect contents creator to make up for the details they might want to add or not. Cheers :)
Awesome as always, cant wait to see the aircraft startup, gear, etc animations and sounds, you lot have come a long way with this game and are doing a great job keeping up posting things you are doing constantly. Really nice to see the progress. Now we just need to see carrier deck activity in the midst of a battle, I'm sure it will look and sound excellent when all the stuff for that is done.
I love what you guys are doing with this game, look wise unmatchable. Please make the aircraft wheels turn when they move! Be nice for them to engine up individual too seems they fire up at the same time. AI wise is what I’m looking forward to seeing. The attention to detail is what makes this stand out and you guys have done good. Cannot wait to see the brains behind the game to see what makes it tick. That’s what will determine how good this game will be. Thanks for sharing this much of the game!
This is lookin so immersive and great! Are there any plans to add gear animations? The blipping up gear from down to up looks a bit odd. Also maybe a failure of gear dropping from mechanical error or damage? Adds the element of emergency landing procedures for the carrier crew.
Good to see increasingly more details showcased of this highly promising sim. However, to this video I have a point of criticism. Aircraft move on the carrier as if they weight 1/20 of what they should. It would be awesome to have them being "handled" as well as accelerate out of standstill at realistic rate. Will this be tuned to realistic values?
Submarines will be around, yes, but they won't be controllable as in "steerable - periscope - fire torpedoes" kind of controllable. You tell them where to go and they do their stuff (at the lowest realism level) or you'll simply hear about them through the chain of command at all other levels of realism (at no point are you expected to have them under your orders in a normal order of battle, they answer to their own command structure).
All ships can be controlled, but they are controlled on a division / task group / task force basis. You don't get to "steer" them as their C.O., but they will react to the environment & obey orders for their current formation.

Best looking water graphics I’ve seen. Puts AAA studios to shame. It has the potential of being a truly special game.
Putting AAA studio to shame isn't that hard 😂
Eh? They’re okay.

9 minutes and 14 seconds of bliss! Great update!
The wildcat startup scare me out of my chair. Loving the visuals.
Looking forward to a well shot launch trailer with these camera tools.
This is a tremendous simulation. Can't wait to see (and play) massive fleet actions
I know it’s work in progress but landing gear animation is EVERYTHING!
That carrier needs crew. Love this game.
That aerial view of task force turning is truly chef's kiss
Can’t wait to figure out the camera for some truly epic shots

Im loving this video and the camera angles it is showing. Also shows how far you guys have come developing the game. Well done :)
Can't express just how much I would love for this to be a flight sim. As it is, looks like an incredible tactical sim in it's own right.
It's coming together, boys! Wait for it. This is going to be THE carrier game we've all been hoping for. Good job, DDG. Keep up the fantastic work!
Waited for many a game over the years, but few with as much expectation as this.
We need a "love" button for this.

TrackIR support would do the trick. That's usually what's leading to that motion in flight sim videos.

WOW That looks impressive. Would like to see a devastator take off.
This looks goooood
Love it! Great job guys!

Thank you.
Gear animation will be added down the road.
Damn, that looks good. I'm gonna lose every time though, because I'll just be marvelling on the deck as Japanese dive bombers sink the fleet.

For myself the high end detail is great if thats your thing but sacrificing some of that for open ended gameplay would be acceptable!
4:45 Was it intentional for this video that the SBD-6 have no bombs under the fuselage or can the armament not be seen in the game?
it looks awesome, i see there is transparency in the water, are submarines be a thing in the game?

Hello.
Not a priority, but might be considered as a kickstarter stretch goal. Cheers :)
Awesome. But isn't ships a bit "flat"? I know everyting is navy blue, maybe different texture or shaders could help? Release for christmas 2023? ;)
Thanks! Textures are still work in progress. Cheers.
looks great. im assuming this is still a year out from any release?
Thank you. Something should be available at some point this year though, hopefully!
I have a question, could it be that in the future after the game is released, other ships can be controlled? like a battleship or destroyer?
All ships can be controlled, but they are controlled on a division / task group / task force basis. You don't get to "steer" them as their C.O., but they will react to the environment & obey orders for their current formation.
