The only thing I would add is as a mom/grandma in the south we always cook/fry in a cast iron skillet or double boiler. Would never dispute a world class chef.

If you ain’t frying your chicken in crisco you didn’t grow up in the south with black grannies so you don’t really know about fried chicken! My granny must be turning in her graveeeeee. If you didn’t grow up having bbqs, with an uncle in a wife beater and polo socks grilling up hot links, you don’t know about a crawfish boil, or fried catfish, and aunties making potato salad and egg salad or deviled eggs, fresh kool aid that you add way more sugar than needed. Then you don’t knowwwww about fried chicken I promise you

Me and my mate were in a Chinese restaurant in London with him and his lovely kids and wife. I've never been more secure in my choice of where to dine as I was when they said he was a regular. So he doesn't always cook for himself.

I just started making fried chicken this way!
I just tried this and screwed it to the max. I forgot about the chicken in the frig and left it in the frig for 26 hourr and then breaded it cold. Of course it was near burnt on the outside. I checked the temperature of the chicken and took it out at 175+ degrees and there was still a little blood on the bone. I could never make it to MasterChef. I have watched thru to Season 9 and will watch all seasons. Great show, I am loving it.
So does breading it cold make it bad?

Wow, his son is a spin image of him. Wow, his twin. I love the his is interested in learning. I remember my test in LeCordon Bleu culinary academy my spices and kitchen cookware. 300 question blank test and fill in the blanks. I can't even imagine if I had to go up against his son. He's gonna win win already.

I did this similar without watching this. My problem was it smelled to much like onion and garlic powder. Everyone puts a lot in the batter, so why did Mine come out so heavily.

For Breading you can't but any black or red color of spices coz after fired the color will be back

He put a few more seasonings in the flour. Not how I'd season mine but I'd still taste it

It's called soak your chicken in sweet tea over night then coat it after dabbed dry with buttermilk then your flour mixture

Gotta squeeze the flour to the chicke and the oil HAS to be the right temperature and not too soon or the flour will indeed not stick at all. I failed many times lol
