    APP, Allen Paintball Products. they make 50rd, 100rd, and 140rd pods that are indestructible. They are better than the old school Indian Springs pods, which were the best IMO.

      Just ordered those. Super sturdy and the lid is stiff enough to not pop open accidentally. Surprised I hadn't seen more APP pods before, they're better than most others. I carry 2 APP 100rd pods and 2 dye lock pods

    The part with the F-Stamp is only part of the truth:
    1) 7,5J equals around 214 FPS, not 230 FPS - at least for the german authorities. They calculated the FPS with a paintball weight of 3.5 grams if I remember correctly.
    2) Markers need 3 stamps to be legal in Germany: the F-stamp (the "F" stands for "Freie Waffe" - a license free weapon), the caliber and the importer of said gun. All three stamps are mandatory since more than 10 years. Older guns just need to have the F-stamp. By the way: as a manufacturer you can't just put the F-stamp on a marker to sell it in germany. Before that, you have to hand over and register a specimen of that model to the german authorities.
    3) Any marker with 0.5J (yes, ZERO point five!) muzzle energy or more is considered a firearm by german gun laws. With a muzzle energy of less than 7.5J you just don't need a license to buy and/or use it, you just need to be an adult by german laws (18+ years). Same regulation applies for any airgun (e. g. airsoft or pellet air gun). Sadly there's no way to get a license for a paintball marker with >7.5J muzzle energy - except you are a weapons collector and in that case you aren't allowed to use it on any field in Germany.
    4) To import a paintball marker, you have to be a licensed weapon dealer (like a FFL in the USA).
    5) Long story short: gun laws in Germany s*ck. Period.
    For the price difference:
    Many people in Germany do not know that the prices in the USA are stated WITHOUT VAT - over here in Germany all prices for customers have to be stated WITH VAT (it's 19% at the moment). If you add the german VAT and shipping cost, there's no big price difference anymore...

      But if you play official PB Tournament, there are kinda like US rules, so there are 300 fps allowed

    • @KrisperKenvue
      @KrisperKenvue 6 лет назад +1

      Erm... let's put it this way: most times at a tournament no one feels the obligation to enforce more than the safety limit of 300 FPS ;) Everything else is up to the players - it's their decision if they obey or bend/break the law. Luckily most cops over here feel more need to hunt down real criminals than harassing some "freaks" playing paintball.

      Thanks for the great info! Still seems simpler than Australia.

    • @KrisperKenvue

      There are still some more regulations to follow - e. g. no full auto mode (forbidden by the german gun laws for any gun except for guns < 0.5J muzzle energy, as these aren't considered as firearms but toys). The playing field has to be fenced (no "open ground") and you have to ensure that no paintball/projectile can leave the boundaries of the field. Minors are only allowed to play with markers < 0.5J, the "real" markers are only for adults.
      By the way: .50 cal is growing in Germany - as an option for minors to play paintball (we have special GoG Enmys with < 0.5J for that) and even adults who are afraid of the pain ;)
      Playing paintball since the 90s and helping out/part time working at an indoor paintball field (www.paintball-muenster.de) I've got some experience and insight regarding the laws and regulations.
      To be honest, our paintball location is growing to "multi use": paintball, paintball for kids, opening at least our scenario section for airsoft players and something completely differnent: historical martial arts full contact ("knights bashing" as I like to call it: we're hosting the german qualification tournament in february 2018). We're also working to open up a tricked out shooting range for airsoft... maybe even AIPSC sometime in the future. Kind of "full service", so to say ;)

    What would be cool is a pod that had different inserts to hold a different amount of paint. It would be a normal 140 round pod with 100 and 50 round inserts so people playing with smaller hoppers wouldn't need to buy a bunch of 50 round pods and a special 50 round pod pack

    There’s lots of companies in the US that are just shipping companies. If you live outside the US, just order online and send it to one of these companies. They will package all your items, even if you order from several online websites, and then they will ship to you. I’m not sure about the “F stamp” laws so depending on what you order they may not be able to ship. Look online for one of these services and maybe ask them what’s legal. I’ve never used one of these services before but many of my friends have used them to ship American made knives and other products.

    #PBQT Im new to paintball I just bought the 2011 proto rail I don’t know what barrel I should buy and what is an Freak instert

    • @ashravenpb
      @ashravenpb 6 лет назад

      there are three types of barrels: one piece barrels (like the one that comes on the rail), two piece barrels (these have a barrel back and a barrel tip which allows you to change the bore size or the barrel length without having to buy a new barrel), and barrel/insert barrels (these can be one piece or two piece barrels that have inserts that you put into the barrel to change the bore size instead of switching out the entire barrel back)
      My favorite barrels right now are the 15 inch Lurker V3 Eigenbarrels (although they have been recently replaced with the V4, which are supposedly even more quiet) and the Inception Designs Stella barrel with the 16 spiral ported slimline tip (Which is much more expensive, but in my experience they are the quietest barrels on the market)

  • @RufusR6

    I have a question that I think a lot of other people would like to know. So I've noticed that there are flashbangs, paint grenades, and smoke grenades meant for airsoft and/or paintball. They are fairly expensive. Smoke grenades and flashbangs being around $6 while paint grenades are around $12. Would you suggest using any of these?

    • @ashravenpb
      @ashravenpb 6 лет назад

      Paint grenades are worthless, flashbangs are typically only used in scenario games as grenades (most fields won't allow them for rec play), and smoke is usually allowed for woodsball/scenario fields, but you need to get the field owner/manager's permission to use them. You also have to be very careful with where you throw them since they can and will start a fire if they land near some dry brush (Google: Field of Fire Paintball)

      The DM14 can run high pressure output tanks (800 psi) without a problem. The only advantage to a mid pressure (400-500 psi) would be a little less stress on the reg internals and possibly a very slight increase in consistency

      Ok marker for the price, but the board only has two firing modes: uncapped semi and 25 bps full auto. This means that if the field you play at doesn't allow uncapped semi then you won't be able to use it without buying an upgrade board, which will cost another $100 (and at that point you could have gotten a Proto Rize)

    Actually, warming your gun to play in freezing temperatures is not such a good idea.
    If you bring a cold object into warm air, moisture will condense on it. And when you take it back out into cold, that moisture will freeze.
    So if you start with a warm gun, things will work until it cools and stops working. At that point if you try to "re-heat" it you're just inviting problems. You'd have to warm it AND get in completely dry before going back out.
    Better just try to find lube or guns that work in the cold. Used older Egos/Eteks go for next to nothing. Get one for cold weather play.
    Things are MUCH easier these days with HPA and cold formula paintballs. Back in the CO2 days I tried winter play with my cocker. It took only about 20 shots to freeze the cup seal and that was it for the day...
