      Paintball Ruined My Life I’ve been using the hk locklids either the zero g pod pack and they’ve been great so far

      Virtue pods seem decent, i'd pick those. I don't know how I honestly feel about lock lid pods though...

      Knockoff Dye alpha pods. Cheap, durable, and they get the job done.

      I've have all three. Both the dye and virtue suffer by weak springs/hinges like you stated. Hk is by far the strongest all around.

    Ive sworn by dye locklids for years. Had them in an evil 13 pod harness, scenario vests, pod packs, and molle pouches. 100% works 100% of the time. Never had one break.

      Same. Believe it or not I've had the same Dye Lock lids since the mid 2000's. Zero problems. Only getting new Dye LL because I want a different color lol.

    If only i could count how many times ive had a pod open during a dive or slide, im sure ive lost enough paint to justify the purchase. But i wont lol

    Definitely the virtue, i had the dye pods and i had nothing but paint spills, the button is cheap and wears out very easily

    I only like locking lids when I’m using expansion loops in my pod pack. For the pods that are strapped in regular pods work great.

    I use the PF pods when im playing recball since I put the pods back in my harness after reloading. If im going to be playing in a tournament game, I will use regular pods since i just throw them on the ground.

    Biggest issue I've had with lock lids is the lid collar separating from the pob body.
    Virtue pods have been golden.

    I had the reverse problem with 3 of my 6 HK pods, some seem to get stuck or not latch correctly. Tried the Dye locklids and they’re harder to open with my stubby thumbs. I’m tempted to try the Virtue pods

    got some lock lids and over 2 days of play i lost THREE full pods b/c they opened up on me while in the snake - NEVER again - not overfilled and fully closed

    I got the dye ones and used them about 6 times only cause they opened just from running about 4 out of the 6 times. Never used them again.

  • @bananamanpb

    I have those dye locking pods and i very much dislike them, i use them quite often and i find that almost every game i have atleast one pod open up just by me running or kneeling dropping all my paint.

  • @brockdomain8509
    @brockdomain8509 3 года назад

    I have had the same 12 dye lock lids for 8 years only one has broke. The reason was a guy was shooting 325fps with hard cheap paint hit the pod and put a hole in it .

    These mad dog pods (similar to alpha pods) are sick, and work perfectly with my bk supreme pack, worth a look to anyone wanting something inexpensive and quality

  • @JoeXTheXJuggalo1

    Actually it all depends on the person, their playing style, and what type of paintball they play. I got a 4 pack of Tippmann 140rd pods for about $12 on Amazon. Works fine for me. If I lose or break one oh well. I only paid like $3 for each pod in that 4 pack. I got the in between price. I didn't get no cheap $1+ pod and I didn't get no wallet breaker pod either.

    i bought a 6 pack of virtue pods, every single one broke after 3 months of playing 1-2 times per week, the button also falls right out nothing holds it in place, i lost the button on a couple of them on the field and never found them. i bought a 6 pack of the dye lock lids and they also sucked, they were hard to get in and out of my carbon pack because of the extra bumps on them. Also no matter what lock lids i used if i bumped into a wall i was leaning against they would open, i ever got shot in the button by another player and it dumped my pod on the ground. every single time i played i lost at LEAST one pod of paint on the floor. i even dumped one in my bag once just filling them all and stacking them upright in the corner of my bag, they rolled around and released everywhere. I now use only regular pods because my 2 teams use them and ill never get all the players to go and buy tons of lock lids, plus you lose pods / exchange them all the time in tournaments and its not viable to be buying locklids all the time or figuring out which 1's belong to whom, better off buying 100 regular pods, since i switched ive never accidentally dumped a pod.

    Brad, I think it would be helpful to show the proper way to load lock lids in a strapless harness. I learned the hard way. I have the BK Strapless and because they are tight together, they were hitting each other during the break and opening on me. I was using the Dye Lock Lids. Just food for those looking into lock lids with a strapless pack. #PBQT

    Dye pods shatter really easily..... i did a slide on my knees, leaned back.... all 4 pods, full and empty, just shattered in the pod belt.... like safety glass in tiny pieces.... and the button is not secured.... got shot in the button once, it openned... unlucky i know, but still... alpha pods arenmuch better value

    • @dartanprince6260
      @dartanprince6260 6 лет назад

      That's awful luck. I use the dye lock lids and haven't had that happen yet had em for a while to. The only bad luck I have is when someone steals one off the field...

    • @buzuuu
      @buzuuu 6 лет назад +1

      Dartan Prince i bought 6 in march.... i have none left... (1 got stolen, 1 got lost, 4 broke)... the alpha pods tho... got 4 a year ago, all still there. Maybe its just my luck... but 1 lock lid will buy u 2 or even 3 alphas... i do not see the point in those at all (other than attempts to evolve equipment, that did not work out)

    • @gladiatorwheeliecool3097
      @gladiatorwheeliecool3097 6 лет назад +1

      i bet the store you boughbt them from had them in a window or something, shining sunlight on any plastic will make it super brittle, and i also got lit up in the ass while crouched over behind a W and a ball hit the button and dumped my pod on my legs

    I'm a huge Dye fan but their lock lid pods are the worst. I had to stop using them with my gravity pod pack after losing 4 pods of paint on the ground in one day of play. I'll use them with my jetpack, though.

    Neither lol, ANS 140 Round pods are perfect. Cheap, Durable & I Rarely spill paint unless I overfill, but of course it isn’t a lock lid so sliding on your back a pod MAY pop open
