If they made it a little shorter it would be a perfect hopper, it sits kinda high and looks kinda awkward, still an awesome super inexpensive hopper, used it for a long time with no issue
Proto Primo hands down. A couple 2-3 years back when I decide to get back into paintball I saw a video on the Proto Primo and I bought it and I love it. Gravity-fed Hopper fit my shooting style best. I don't need the Speedy Gonzales paintball markers with electronic hoppers. I don't need a shoot a case of paint every game. I choose quality shots over quantity shots. I come from the day when that bag of 500 paint would last you all day and you didn't use pod packs.
Well to each person their own. I used gravity-fed hopper because it fits my shooting style. my shooting style is not to go through a case of paint in a single game. I choose quality shots over quantity shots. Even though you say you won't go to gravity fed hoppers I will recommend that you should at least have a gravity-fed hopper as a backup in your gear bag.
I own Xtreme Paintball and Laser Tag in Dover, Arkansas and I just switched out all of my hoppers with the Empire Splitter. I did this because I was tired of my customers having to "shake" their paintball marker (Tippmann FT-12 Lite) and was just trying to give my customers a better experience. Also the cost was right. They have worked very well for my customers. The FT-12 has enough recoil and with the player running to greatly eliminate jamming the paintballs. Thank you for this video. Well done.
I was way let down by the BASE hopper. I tried that in the spring when they sent them out for dealers, then I upgraded all my rentals to the v-lite. The Primo is a bit hard to clean, but I guess you can say that about all of them.
I'm not surprised the Primo won, it's pretty much the only gravity hopper designed with serious players in mind. The rest just seem like they're marketed towards people who have only been playing like a year or so, and want to upgrade from the basic hopper but have no idea what they're looking for.
Thanks, this was really useful, and jives with my experience with the Proto Primo and the Empire Splitter. They're similar, and both are obviously better than just a basic gravity fed, but it did seem like I got a few more dry fires with the splitter. This puts that Valken hopper on my radar, I'll have to try it.
The GOG Mult hopper is the fastest hopper out there in 100/120 ball size, it feeds very fast and has no jams, because of that i play it on my pump, and i tryed many of them, i still have like 15 hoppers in my collection from little 50 Winchester to GoG and so on; but GOG is still the fastest 😅
I have the Primo and it works well for what it is. My boys and I started with GoG eNMys and Primos and gravity fed is ok. You still get misfires if you don't shake it enough.
I've had the same experience with the enmey. It dosn't kick enough for a gravity hopper to feed good. I use a z2 on my enmey and hardly any broken paint when shooting fast
We've switched to speedball guns but I'll give my kids mine if theirs goes down for the day. I'll go back to the enmey, it's a great cheap mechanical and works well with my Dye rotor. That gun never has an issue.
Might be an unpopular opinion/slightly off topic but i rock the V-max + and i gotta say its amazing. Ive shot 10+ cases through my Rize and V-max and i havent jammed once or broke a ball. The thing is like 50ish bucks and just works. I have a friend with a Rize and a Halo and i kinda like the vmax more
Nick Woodman I agree with you completely. I used to rock a Halo Too on my markers but switched to the Vmax + due to its small profile and tooless disassembly. Never looked back since.
For sure. I like the V-Max, I think they didn't catch on because they just feel a bit cheaper than the Halo Too. The V-Max is probably going to be just as durable, it just doesn't seem as solid next to the Halo Too when you pick both of them up.
Yeah I’m not sure what the point of a slanted rail would be. Maybe for a go pro? That’s about the only thing I can think of. Maybe one up top for forward facing and a barrel cam facing the user
Angus MacQueen honestly if you've followed his videos he basically has but imo 1.spire iii 2 lvl 3 rotor 4 z2 I don't have experience outside of these 4 but its like with markers what are you looking for other people's lists may be differnt
I did extensive testing and even shooting video. I own a field and the hopper's performance is very important. Splitter feeds longer strings, has zero issues with the internal shelf, also primo lids break easier and wouldn't feed as well as the splitter. I have about 50-70 primos collecting dust about to go on the auction block.
i was gonna get a blitz 3 legendary pack from ans gear but then i realized i could get a halo too with a first strike 48/3000 hpa tank, a black&gold blitz 3, 2013 gen x global 3+4 deluxe pack, with i think 3x 140 round pods all for i think 25 dollars more p.s. i already have a mask a ok mask the dye se thermal lens mask or whatever
I know exactly. As soon as I saw the title of the video I automatically said to myself "Proto Primo". When I got back into paintball a couple years ago I saw a video on the Proto Primo and I knew that was for me. I only use gravity fed hoppers because it fits my shooting style better. The Tippmann SSL of $50 not $22. Also .ost people who buy gravity fed Hoppers are for the Pacific reason to have them gravity fed and not electric. Like me I used gravity-fed Hopper is because it fits my shooting style. My shooting style is not going through a whole case of paint in a single game. I went through the entire days of playing on a single bag of 500 paint
Problem with the primo is that its huge for pump players and kind of ugly. Someone needs to make a smaller (100 round) gravity hopper with a shelf like the primo
That is true. The Proto is pretty well made, but idk, for my pump, im going to grab a G-Lid next time i find the urge to buy something from Ben. Always nice to support the small guy
The best gravity feed hopper is the JT 200 view and you cut off the top and leave the neck with about a 1” diam base and cut out to bottom of a hollow plastic skull and glue it in. Boom skull hopper
Phillip Clark I think mechanical markers are just making a big comeback after years and years of electro circle jerking. People have finally realized extreme rates of fire and light triggers don’t make you a better player
The primo is my favorite gravity hopper and idk why people call it ugly. It’s sleek looking
If they made it a little shorter it would be a perfect hopper, it sits kinda high and looks kinda awkward, still an awesome super inexpensive hopper, used it for a long time with no issue
@@Tom-gv7hc can't you saw it down?

I don't ever plan on using a gravity hopper again but i like watching your videos lol
Thanks! lol 😃

I use the gog multi cal on my empire sniper and it hasn't jammed yet. Great hopper for pump
I’m buying a pro to primo right now!

The original brass eagle hopper is the best I have never I mean never had it jam after several hours of play and it feels like its built well
Yeah I’m not sure what the point of a slanted rail would be. Maybe for a go pro? That’s about the only thing I can think of. Maybe one up top for forward facing and a barrel cam facing the user
It’s 11:20 pm in the part of the world I live in and was woken from my dream of dye m3s’s raining in my room
what are m3s's?
Mechunter He probably ment the dye m3s
I love my Winchester (50 rnd) but I want to try out that gog hopper, for sure (pump player CCM s6.5)
omarlee the gog had feed really nice on my empire sniper
I have said and have heard others say the GOG multi is the best pump hopper out there.
I can agree the GOG Multi is the best pump hopper out there if you dont use a Winny
Pump plus primo is the best
yes.
Such a Dye phanboi, so biased with all that testing and information. =P
Great vid amigo.
Very informative, appreciate the stats.
Your videos are so usefull and I thank you for your help. Would you say etha lt, dp g5, or mini gs for a first electric marker?
Tyler B I'd say mini, or Etha would both be good, even the proto rise would be a good choice. Lots of options in that $300 range
Thanks for the help Biscuit!
I will tell you I've owned 3 planet eclipse guns and never been let down.
Brad will say Mini GS
That was my thought, but I also want to know if the etha even stands a chance against the mini.
is the planet eclipse PAL 100 round hopper much smaller than the 200 round PAL hopper??
Do this video but with electric hoppers
Angus MacQueen honestly if you've followed his videos he basically has but imo
1.spire iii
2 lvl
3 rotor
4 z2
I don't have experience outside of these 4 but its like with markers what are you looking for other people's lists may be differnt
Agree with @george
Z2 best for the money
Hey I love the videos keep up the good work!
I have a pair of tacamo dual arcs and those feed better than the primo I bought recently
They still selling that thing? They weren't bad but I thought they stop selling them.
Paintball Ruined My Life Im sure you can find them but I dont think tacamo still exists as a company

Am I able to add a quick load lid to the proto primo?
Unfortunately no 😞
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife of course the one that I have doesn’t 😠😔
Love the vids keep it up
Would you recommend an armagillo voodo mesh dread instert?
i was gonna get a blitz 3 legendary pack from ans gear but then i realized i could get a halo too with a first strike 48/3000 hpa tank, a black&gold blitz 3, 2013 gen x global 3+4 deluxe pack, with i think 3x 140 round pods all for i think 25 dollars more p.s. i already have a mask a ok mask the dye se thermal lens mask or whatever
Is there something comparable to QLoader force feed non electric hopper?
There is not, the q-loader was a pretty unique product.
Rather see you shoot then see numbers ..... imo
Agreed
Same
This guys voice is like listening to two different people talk. The complete voice change during sentences is hilarious.
Amazing show, one if not my favorite show that I've seen.
Didn’t even start the video. Proto Primo for sure.

you missed the etha 2 chart

Its my bday!!!!

Well for 17 dollars you might as well buy a tippmann ssl for 22

Get a Geoff Box for pump
For me is not that it is huge, it is the weight distribution that throws me off.
Really though. If Proto made a 100 round Primo everyone would buy it.
That is true. The Proto is pretty well made, but idk, for my pump, im going to grab a G-Lid next time i find the urge to buy something from Ben. Always nice to support the small guy
I have the Gog multicaliber, Never missed a shot with it . pretty small also.
I thought the rail on the base was so you aim High and lob the ball to your enemy
Im sure it could be used for that.
The best gravity feed hopper is the JT 200 view and you cut off the top and leave the neck with about a 1” diam base and cut out to bottom of a hollow plastic skull and glue it in. Boom skull hopper
what is the lightest tank under $100?
Luxe YT used ninja/Empire carbon fiber tanks
first strike 13/3000
Ninja thanks are the lightest in the industry
the pal
Is it just me, or is the paintball industry shying away from electronic paintball gear?
Phillip Clark
I think mechanical markers are just making a big comeback after years and years of electro circle jerking. People have finally realized extreme rates of fire and light triggers don’t make you a better player
The primo loads worse than my empire splitter.
