  • Not all records are created equally. Our NFL Rankings Videos have pounded this point over and over, and we do so again. We will take a look at every win total within the 16-game schedule era and point out the best team... and the worst team, for each.
Shout out to ‪@alexweinstock943‬ and ‪@tylerturnage‬ for being the inspiration behind this video!
    Explanation of C-Score:
C-Score is a metric created by this channel to assign an overall value to a football team. It takes a team's:
-Results, including standard and Pythagorean W-L record
-Performance, including game control and play-by-play production
-Quality of opponents, specifically performance level against opponents
and distills all of that into one cumulative and comparative score reflecting the context of the season in question. When applicable, a team's playoff performance is also included.
A C-Score of 0 represents an average football team, whereas anything above 0 represents an above average team and anything below 0 represents a below average team.
A team's record is important, but not always indicative of C-Score. An 11-5 team can rate higher than a 13-3 team or lower than a 9-7 team. Not all records are created equally.

I thought that crazy improbable 13-3 2001 Chicago Bears team might get consideration, but they had a very high point differential (+135) which must have given them a good C score

2001 bears & 2011 49ers & maybe even the 1999 Colts were the fakest 13 win teams ever. Never took any of those teams seriously.

This was a fun approach! Video suggestion: Most consistently mid- teams by C-score. Over a 3 year period what teams average C-score was closest to zero? Team most stuck in purgatory - neither great nor bad.

Here's the crazy stat I have ever heard, and it's about the 2010 Green Bay Packers... they are the only team in the history of the Super Bowl Era to never trail by more than one possession for an entire season.

The 2004 patriots played a tough schedule, especially in the playoffs. They got a historic indy offense in the divisional, followed by a road trip to pittsburgh against the best defense in the league for the afc title game, and finally, a showdown with a talented 13-3 eagles team

Best and worst team from each selection in the common draft era. So it has to be teams that had their pick before trading it away. So an example would be best: 1999 Browns who picked 1st in the 2000 draft, and worst would be the 2006 Raiders who picked 1st in the 2007 draft

The Indianapolis Colts did play at a high level during the Peyton Manning era, mostly with Tony Dungy coaching the team. However, the Super Bowl winning team following the 2006 season prevented the 2000's Colts from being one of the best teams in a decade never to win the big one.

@@cccproductions2019 I reckon that's also what happened to the 2015 Carolina Panthers and why were nowhere close to the worst 15-1 rankings. As I believe the Panthers had one of the easiest schedules ever for a Super Bowl team, at least during that 2002-2019 stretch. Only 4 playoff teams with each of them only winning 10 and 9 games respectively, and the 13-3 Cardinals squad that was starting to trip all over themselves down the stretch.
