  • Is one better than the other?
With the 2022 models of the Peugeot 3008 and Citroen C5 Aircross it really is the case of the same ingredients resulting in different dishes. But is one better than the other?
Let CarGurus help you find your next car:
    www.cargurus.co.uk/Cars/artic...
Look beneath the surface of the Citroen C5 Aircross and Peugeot 3008, and you'll find most of the same bits and bobs. That's because despite their different badges, both cars are manufactured by the same parent company, Stellantis. But even so, both cars have their own distinct character. The Citroen could be described as quirky, characterful and comfortable, while the Peugeot majors on being slick, stylish and sophisticated.
In this CarGurus UK video review, Rebecca Jackson puts the two cars head-to-head, and compares them in every area, including quality, technology, practicality, and of course, what they're like to drive.

I think Rebecca just does not like Citroens 😂 I have a C5 Aircross (previous version mind you) and have tried the 3008. Yes the 3008 is sportier, but ride quality of the Citroen is miles ahead and any hybrid once the battery goes flat is a petrol guzzler. Also, the space in the back of the Aircross is roomy enough and I dare say roomier. The Peugeot to us felt more cramped on head space. Back to the ride quality, I never experienced bumpy rides in any urban setting if anything it just feels even smoother. I live where there are a lot of B roads and a lot of potholes, it was that in great part that tipped me to the C5.

Tested them both 4 years ago. Although Peugeot had nicer looks and more polished interior, the ride quality and acustic glass combined with bigger boot, made me buy the Citroen.

Rating a a cheap family mid size SUV on sporty feeling is as dumb as rating a Bugaty Chiron on back seat capacity...Also, why is sporty=good? I have been riden in 5008 with 18" wheels and ride quality was afoul, why on earth would anyone want that?

I have just traded my Citroen C5 aircross in for a Peugeot 3008 and must admit I wish I had it back the Citroen is far better in my view for comfort and refinement. The Peugeot is perhaps a better looking car but the Citroen is so comfortable the suspension is better you really feel this is a quality car whereas the Peugeot is tinny and has a plastic feel to it maybe I'll get used to it in the long term so as they say get over it.

I have owned my C5 Aircross now for 9 months, in that time it has been absolutely faultless and I love it. I also own a 2004 BMW E39 M5 and I use the C5 as a daily, it's so comfortable and much more relaxing to drive. On top of that I just love it's chunky rugged looks. I tried a Range Rover Evoque and it was rubbish, I hated it instantly, the C5 beats that car hands down, go figure. If someone had told me a Citroen would be better than a so called luxury brand car I would have laughed in their face, but the uncomfortable truth is, it is!

Another reviewer, can't remember her name said it was a major niggle that the C5 Aircross (the previous version) did not have a rev counter. It is actually a very obvious option on the screen customisation when you choose dials. My take is reviewers are just people with personal preferences, if they are already pre disposed to not like something they won't explore it and will put it under a negative light even subconsciously.

no one that has "racing background" and consequently "racing driver mind" will ever appreciate (if not even been unable to understand) the comfort oriented Citroen cars... even if/when their steering wheel is precise despite its lightness, and their body roll is much more composed and cornering manners far better than it seems at first glance....
for EVERY racing driver, whose mind is subconsciously always seeking the fastest "attack trajectory" trough corners, Citroen's non-aggressive, laid back (but not uncapable) and comfort oriented philosophy of traveling is something they just can not like "by the default" 😉....

I have the Peugeot 3008 and would say if the factory would work out how to repair the electronics it would be a great car. I say this from experience as i have been waiting 8 months for the electrical fault to be repaired. If you look up the forums you will find the mood lighting has been a problem for the past 5 years . When the car is parked and locked the lights will come on at random intervals. My car is a 2022 model and if this is not fixed bear in mind you have electronic steering, Brakes etc which are all controlled by the same module. I would assume but can not guarantee that this module is fitted to all Stellantis owned brands so with this in mind i can not recommend either of these vehicles at this time.

With the amount of electronics on cars nowadays there's more to go wrong generally. I was looking at a Dacia duster as less electronics but they seem to hold their value a bit too well given how basic they are. I wanted something a bit more comfortable for driving longer distances.

in the aircross the seat backs also recline giving you more headroom if you think you need it, the front headrests slide backwards and forwards to. the seats are also amazingly comfortable more like armchairs than car seats. you shoulod never compare the ride quality between a peugeot \and a Citroen as the Citroen will always shine in comparison, this reviewer doesnt really like the Citroewn ride very much which is probably the best ride of any currently avaiable SUV in its class available today.
for medical reasons I needed softer suspension and the Citroen won me over against many others out there. the infotainmen t screen is very responsive and adjusting the air-con on it is very easy to do whilst driving, the windscreen clearing fan is button controlled but they never tell you this in reviews only their opinion on what might be a bad thing, the 1500 1.5 diesel auto gives me btween 55 and 60 mpg and th4 flappy paddle gearshift is very handy when towing. The 8 speed auto box is a proper syncromesh gearbox unlike a lot of the competition which have dual dry clutches that wear out and need replacing and it has no dual mass flywheel another cumbersome lump of metal the manual versions carry around sapping fuel economny.

Peugeot UK " lack of " customer service to known design faults with there multiple award winning Purecrap engine was the end of my loyalty to buying Peugeot products & anything else from the Stellantis group.

I'm ready to order my 3rd 3008 , I absolutely love them, and will definitely be going for the hybrid.. I can't fault the icockpit, everything is within easy access and both practical and beautiful, the small steering wheel may seem odd to some, but it is both functional and comfortable, especially on long journeys..
The C cross in comparison desperately needs a serious face lift and tech upgrade both interior and exterior.. to say they are from the same company, they couldn't be more different.

Rebecca : The steering wheel is set at a safety placing, as what happens when you are hit or you hit another vehicle in a head on? The air bag explodes outward and the closer you are to it, the more damage your body and face takes. Oh No Rebecca with Airbag dust irritation !!
