  • I saw THREE black bears while archery hunting, and they all walked right to me! I thought they were going to try and climb the tree, but instead they just chewed on my climbing aider. They hung around us for 5 minutes before running off. What an incredible hunt!

I’ll be 60 in January. I decided to start looking into saddle hunting. That’s how I found you and Nick. Thank you for your informative videos. They helped convince me to go to saddle hunting next season. I’m getting the Lock down saddle with the Latitude sticks. Love your videos! Keep up the good work! ❤️❤️

Hi Rob I’m 60 and started hunting with the lockdown, love it. I would HIGHLY suggest getting the beast sticks…simply put, they are the best. I tried others and will never look back after using the beast sticks. Good luck!

I just learned something new!!! Never heard of "mast year" for oak trees, but that would TOTALLY explain why my trees in my driveway have gone BONKERS with acorns this year! I also noticed it while we were laying under one of our trees during the recent solar eclipse looking at the sky and I noticed our giant oak tree was EXCEEDINGLY full of acorns, yet to drop! I'd never heard of that phenomenon before, so thanks for teaching me something!

Never hunt elevated without a safety. For some reason saddle hunters are the worst at doing this. Always use a second point of attachment when elevated.

I have a camera on a scrape and believe it or not a mama and her 3 cubs all checked the scrape and mama even stood up and checked the licking branch. First time I've seen one do that. And of course she stood up and reached up trying to get my camera. That looked like a really cool experience. 👍👍

Seems like from what I've seen. When we have an abundance of acorns. Normally that brings about a bad winter. God's way of providing for the forest animals. I live here just across the line in Maryland. Our acorns are crazy bad. It's like you are on skates when out hunting.

fyi - we have bear spray in our packs up here in Canada. No ones hunts my land and treestands without it. My buddies squabbled and whined until one climbed the tree where one of them was in the tree stand... Bear was just saying hi..
However, after the outhouse visit - they all agreed - LOL
It's happned many times to me so that's why its mandatory. All it takes is one..
There won't be a second. When they climbing to you, its almost impossible to shoot them becuase all you see is the big fat head and face. One quick spritz and poof they run for the hills most times. They are very cool animals. We take some eveyr year to thin the population on our land. Keeps my deer population healthy. Best meat there is imho
