As a Pilot this is one of my favorite airports to operate in and out of... on take off I may have held the brakes while the engines spooled up to give the fence riders a little extra! 🤫
been visiting St Maarten 2-3 times per year since 2003 and never miss a afternoon just plane watching - the beauty is that anywhere on the Dutch side you will hear or see the planes landing and taking off. A spectacular place highly recommend it and the islanders are Gems!
I was a corporate pilot, now retired, and I flew into St. Martin many times over the years. I was always amazed by how many people would be on that small section of the beach. Yes, as the flight crew we could indeed see the people below us. BTW. We’d always try to come in a wee bit lower and do a static run up, basically give it full throttle while holding in position, then release the brakes. A little something for the beach goers to remember us by. You missed the good stuff, KLM brought 747’s in there up until not that long ago.
The Pilot on speaker: "Ladies and gentlemen please look outside and wave to the crowd who has so kindly assembled to watch us land." The pilots must feel like celebs no joke
It felt like I was with you guys...honestly. I was screaming and getting excited!! Man your videos have some interesting effects on me which I love!!! Just the feeling that I'm standing right there...wooaahhh!
I worked for a cruise line for 2 years. We went all over the Eastern and Western Caribbean and St. Maarten was my favorite place! I am so happy to see that it is coming back after the hurricane. The devastation there was terrible. Thank you for bringing attention to this amazing island!
My husband and I went to St. Martin last July, but we stayed on the French side in Grand Case. They were still recovering from Irma and not expecting to really see a major increase in tourism until November. A lot of the buildings were in ruins, and there was rubble all over the beach. My in-laws were with us as well and were heartbroken over one of their favorite places in the world being so destroyed. But what a resilient bunch of people! I can’t wait to go back one day, and your videos are just making me miss it more!
As a St. Maartener, I appreciate your comment and would like to encourage everyone to come visit our island, because your tourist visits are the only way we can recover successfully! Irma might have damaged our homes, but the beauty of St Maarten is truly indestructable!
Vishal Mahtani I second the encouragement to visit! It was absolutely beautiful, and everyone was so friendly. Definitely an experience I’ll never forget.
your comment means a lot to me also seeing that im from St.Maarten🕊you should definitely come back bc the beaches are great and yes we're still recovering but tourist are always welcomed💖
I dont think I've ever commented before... but I wanted to say Thanks! So many RUclips people I follow started like you all. Uploads every day or multiple times a week. They have all become wildly successful, like yourselves (even far less subscribers), and have dropped to uploading once a week. Please dont ever do this!!! We enjoy your videos and the frequency of them!!
Because of you two and this video we watched as a family a couple years ago we are doing this tomorrow and we are SO excited! Thank you Kara and Nate!!!!
This was my wife and I's favorite place to visit on our first cruise. That beach with the airplanes is a once in a lifetime experience. And the mega yatchs. Watched lots of your videos to prepare for our first cruise and first time out of the country. Keep up the good work.
I work on a cruise ship that regularly used to dock in St Martin and getting to relive the hours spent at this beach through this video is amazing! I miss it so much! Thankyou guys!
I’m so glad that I found this video. It brought back so many amazing memories. I went there 2 years ago with my aunt, uncle, mom and daughter. We stayed at my aunt and uncles resort, the Royal palm, right next to the airport. We were there for a week and went and watched planes land numerous times. One time when we watched a plane take off, my daughter got flung into the water, lol. I have it on video. My uncle passed away suddenly in November, so those memories are the last major ones we have with him. We were also there the summer before the hurricane hit and destroyed so much of the island, so it is great to see so much restored and back to its original beauty. Thank you for sharing and making my day.
Hi Kara&Nate! Since I've broken my ankle a few weeks ago, I stayed at home and started to watch your channel. In the last 4 weeks I've seen almost al your video's. There just so much fun to watch! Please keep on travelling for a long time and make more awesome video's!!!

As a St.maartener I can honestly just say thank you for enjoying my home so much... it’s definitely a pleasure seeing as how far we came after the hurricane Irma that you guys still enjoy the beauty of our island ♥️ much love all the way from Sxm
This island is TOP on my bucket list as someone who is half Dutch but speaks French! I'd love to see how the two cultures, as well as the caribbean influences, all mix together. Awesome video!
Nadia T I’m like you, mum was Dutch, dad French Canadian so grew up speaking English, French, and Dutch. I’ve lost most of my Dutch sadly since my mom passed away but wish to learn it again. Going to St-Maarten and Curaçao are tops for me.
The place you ate at (Maho Beach Bar) had just finished a huge expansion when the hurricane hit, pretty much all that was left were the concrete decks, thankfully they were able to rebuild pretty quickly.
Spent hours there several years ago when you were able to hold on to the fence. I didn’t my husband did while I photographed from the side. Unforgettable experience
Found you 2 recently and am in love with your RUclips channel. I binge watch nightly and am beyond entertained by your vlogs. Thank you for such great quality and your ability to share these moments is awesome! You could easily have a show on a network or cable channel. The quality is amazing and you both are soooooo good at sharing these experiences. My wife and I have recently decided to start a vlog based around cruises and camping...because that's what we like to do. We're new and our videos suck compared to yours but I'm learning and your channel is helping me with that. Thank you for being so original and fresh. Keep up the good work!
Damn that looked like a fun day! I’ve wanted to visit there for so long so it was neat seeing you two enjoying it so much. Loved the landing Delta 737 and you two being lost for words when the KLM A330 took off! Thomas 😀
Jaymi Benson good luck w your pursuit of being a pilot! I’m a retired airline pilot. It’s not easy or cheap, but if it’s your dream and passion, do everything you can to do. You’ll never have a bad day at work, the cockpit is the best office in the world!
I'm an air show fan...would love to spend the day on THIS beach...thrills!!! Continuing to love all your videos...you two are the MOST professional, bordering on National Geographic quality. Keep travelling !

Hey Kara and Nate! Its been almost an year that I am following up on your videos and the excitement is still the same, each time I receive a video upload notification from your YT channel. I loved how you guys have involved in the way the travel videos are getting shot. So engaging, full of surprises, excitement and adventure. May you guys keep doing this forever because both of you are doing a great job and definitely deserve more than a million followers. Love from India. ❤️🇮🇳
Eben Cole The Air France and KLM A330 are the same size. KLM used to send their biggest plane, the 747 to St Martin but they recently stopped their service and switched to a much smaller A330
Found your Chanel a few years back when I was trying to find stuff for my trip to Kenya, I’ve been hooked ever since and now just booked my trip to Sint Maarten I April for my bday. I’ve always wanted to go to Maho beach and this video did it for me :D also amazing to see how the Chanel has grown. Your hard work and great video skills are paying off. Keep up the awesome job guys
You guys have literally the cutest travel vlogs like OMG YOU GUYS ARE ADORABLE! And Kara you’re so pretty and nice :’) we need more people like you! Your smile is literally contagious!
How flippin’ cool was that✈️!!! What a thrill!! Airplanes are amazing machines aren’t they?!? So cool to see, but the real life experience is probably nothing that can be shown or explained on video! It was especially cool for y’all since you guys love aircrafts so much! Awesome video y’all! Stay you 😘
I love watching all your warm weather sunny day videos lately! We've had a lot of cold, gloomy days here. And it's even supposed to snow this weekend. So needless to say watching the beach videos and your guys optimism/good spirits make the days feel a bit brighter!
It took me like a year and a half but I've finally watched everyone of ya'll's videos!!! Watching your videos makes me want to travel so much! What do I do with my life now that I've caught up on your vlogs?! lol
You can see Pelican Key behind you to the right at 1:30. I was walked the beach from Pelican Key past the airport to Maho Beach one morning. It was a really amazingly beautiful long walk. There was nobody at Maho Beach. I dug a hole 4'x4'x4' in the middle top part of the beach and used it as a sandstorm bunker from the 747s. There were a couple dozen people max. One 747 took off and the people standing in the same place as you were picked up, tossed and rolled all the way to the waves. It was awesome and super funny. They were not hurt, but got the ride of their life. I was Silver status with US Airways that trip (when Silver meant something lol) and flying 1st on that trip. I luckily sat next to the chief stew of one of the bigger yachts in Simpson Bay. She gave me an incredible tour of the boat on my 2nd day there. Talk about an amazing trip. Wow! So glad you guys finally got to experience the beach and planes. I really wished you got to watch the Corsair or KLM 747s take off!. Always an adventure with you guys! thanks for all that you bring to the table :) This is my favorite Caribbean island. How do you guys rate this one compared to some of the others you have been to?
Yep. Air France used B747s for a while before switching to A340s and even later, A330s. CorsAir International also used B747s as did KLM, both have also been replaced with the A330.
WooHoo I posted first....The only thing I actually get is a self pat on the back and the warm glow of satisfaction (That actually might be from the home-made Tamales I bought out of the back of a mini van earlier. (nope they are delicious Rojo, Verde, or Queso). Anyway, can't stay, class starting soon....Prep time - Great Video, It seems like your experience would be closest to one that I experienced many times. When military jumping into the jet wash of a C141 going about 125 Knots. You are literally 40 or so feet from the engine wash. They put a steel plate with holes between the jumpers and the engine to block some of the wind force. You are buffeted around until you are far enough away for your chute to open. Thanks
this beach is so amazing I was there on the way day a week an A380 comes in and takes off, my back felt like it got sand blasted after the A380 took off
I’m in Melbourne, and before the pandemic hit I had my on business taking people to the airport. There’s a road that goes around the back to Melbourne airport where the planes fly over you just like this. I used to sit there for hours in between jobs. I have a fascination with planes as well 😁💜🇦🇺💋
Thanks for visiting my island and thank you for promoting As a photographer I Love how you out together this Vlog!! I've taken so many fantastic shots of the planes.
You two are a huge inspiration to me. I am 11 years old and I have always wanted to travel the world! My dream is to travel the world when I am older! I live geography in school as well!!! Love you guys!!!!! :)
I'm a flight attendant but I dont know if even I would be comfortable with the planes flying so close but man, how cool!! But the water is stunning! It put a smile on my face to see y'all having such genuine fun. (I wonder if the people on the plane are like 'omg we're going to hit them!' Lol) Ps. I'm the one who emailed the picture of my fat baby about the cruise. :)
Great video you two!👍 Love Kara's reaction to the planes coming in. It's crazy how low they get to the beach! When we were there we missed all the big planes..
I was there last September. It was actually my first time ever seeing the Caribbean and to say I fell in love is a huge understatement. You could still definitely tell that hurricane Irma gave the island a black eye but, even with those problems, it is still a place like no other. It also doesn't take very long to see why they call it "The Friendly Island" either because the people are some of the nicest you could ever hope to meet. Oh, and they aren't exaggerating about the jetblast hurting either. It stings like hell but it's still worth it just to experience something like that.
That was brilliant guys. One of the most out there clips I have seen....Shared on Facebook immediately xxxx Keep travelling and sharing x I would love to see you meet up with Samuel and Audrey, The Endless Adventurers, The Way Away for a meet and greet...You guys are all inspirational xxxx
The words you were looking for to describe the feeling on your skin when the plane took off is.... being sand blasted.... literally! LOL. I was there in December 2018 and it was crazy. I found sand on my body/head for days LOL
I've seen those videos on RUclips. But now watching your makes it really look like fun. I use to work at the airport, for an airfreight companu, so we would wait on the ramp, and yes, the jetblast can be pretty intense just idling. I miss that job
As a Pilot this is one of my favorite airports to operate in and out of... on take off I may have held the brakes while the engines spooled up to give the fence riders a little extra! 🤫
Wow bro! That's pretty cool 😆
lol
What company and what type of airplane
Not going to go there publicly.. A big airline flying big planes.
Ok
The pilots gotta feel like rock stars when they are flying in. That’s so cool. I could literally be on that beach all day watching the planes
No you couldn't

rich schindler you‘re the real MVP!
Thanks for posting your experience. That is exactly what I was wondering if how is the perspective from the flight crew.
Thanks for posting your experience 😆
Great post, Rich! I loved hearing your POV!
You are a good good man Rich!
The Pilot on speaker: "Ladies and gentlemen please look outside and wave to the crowd who has so kindly assembled to watch us land." The pilots must feel like celebs no joke
I was there in December, and you could actually see people on the beach from the plane when you land! it was the coolest experience!
Pilot: “Wait, is that Ronaldo?”
First officer: “Go around!! Go around!!”
Sorry Nate, another Ronaldo joke haha
HAAHHAHAHAHA
Does anyone suppose the Cristiano jokes will ever cease to exist? 😂
That's was I thought 😆👍
Martin C. lollllllllllllllllllllllllllll😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I watched this video 5 years ago when you posted it and said one day I would go and today was that day!! It was so much fun
Okay but can we talk about how freaking good Kara looks, her bod is everything
This is a great one guys! Made me laugh 😆
It felt like I was with you guys...honestly. I was screaming and getting excited!! Man your videos have some interesting effects on me which I love!!! Just the feeling that I'm standing right there...wooaahhh!
We are so glad you feel that way! That’s what we want! ❤️❤️❤️
I laughed out loud the whole ride. Even caught my self with my face all bunched up in case sand were to about hit me in the face. 😂

What an amazing beach!
The place you ate at (Maho Beach Bar) had just finished a huge expansion when the hurricane hit, pretty much all that was left were the concrete decks, thankfully they were able to rebuild pretty quickly.

hi Kara and Nate - wow that's crazy !!! got to try that one day. thanks for sharing Chris & Marianne :)
Loved the hairstyle Nate got from the jet blast!
LOL us too! Too funny - amazing video and we really want to go there now :)
One of your coolest videos guys!!!! So much fun to watch!!! :) bucket list for sure!!
How can there still be sand on that beach??
That's a really good question!
It's a beach. Beaches are constantly being re-made by the sea depositing sand. That doesn't stop because of a little extra wind.
The big hurricane of 2017 blew away most of the sand on that beach. It still came back via natural processes. A few planes is nothing compared to a massive hurricane.
@@marks.6480 Okay thanks
False they put back sand by pipe essentially after hurricane. And maybe each 10-15 year as st Barth’s do for saint jean.
I love the use of the invisible cuts that Kara uses

You two are a huge inspiration to me. I am 11 years old and I have always wanted to travel the world! My dream is to travel the world when I am older! I live geography in school as well!!! Love you guys!!!!! :)
Omg..this was amazing... amazing amazing amazing....loved it so much....
Agreed! SO COOL that they land right next to the beach! We want to go there :)
I love that EVERY other person is doing exactly the same thing y'all are!
Sint Maarten! It looks beautiful. I hope you had a lovely time.
Kara, you have absolutely the best reactions to things........that episode was a blast to watch......good job.
I’ve been waiting for this one ever since I saw it on your instagram story🤗🤗
Hope it was worth the wait!!!
Kara and Nate yes it definitely was! That was crazy!😂
My husband and I have been to this beach. Amazing when the planes fly over. And LOUD!!!
You probably can tell by my channel name that I was really looking forward to this episode :) Fantastic video! Lovely work as always!
LOL YES! I am personally very bad at flying (turbulence really freaks me out!) but this looks like a crazy cool experience
I love watching you two travel.... thanks for keeping me looking at the bright side of life!
Love from St.Martin 🇸🇽🇸🇽
I am on my lunch break and my job is in the flight path for JFK. It was really cool watching this with the sound of actual planes in the background.
What a pretty beach!
Isn’t the water gorg ❤️😍
Yes it so beautiful!
Thanks for visiting my island! Hope you had a great time!
I'm a flight attendant but I dont know if even I would be comfortable with the planes flying so close but man, how cool!! But the water is stunning! It put a smile on my face to see y'all having such genuine fun. (I wonder if the people on the plane are like 'omg we're going to hit them!' Lol)
Ps. I'm the one who emailed the picture of my fat baby about the cruise. :)
I'm a Flight Attendant too and this beach fascinates me! I'd love to see it up close.
Was there in December, and it’s AMAZING. Nothing like I’ve ever experienced before
Great video you two!👍 Love Kara's reaction to the planes coming in. It's crazy how low they get to the beach! When we were there we missed all the big planes..
imagine an a380 breathing over your head 😭😭
Maho is my favorite beach ever!!! It’s my screen saver. I miss every minute of being there!!!!! Fav island!!!!!!
omg! i was just at sint maarten! it’s beautiul
I live on st maarten
Yes!! I LOVE the song you guys used for the plane montage part. It's subtle yet strong! Great video! Keep up the great work guys!
Thanks! I really liked it too!
I LIVED ON SXM FOR 11 YEARS!! I MIISS IT EVERYDAY
Louis Reystolk me too 😂🤣
Cool I was there for 15 years
I was there last September.
Can you pls do some more plane spotting like this .
Tell us where to go and we are there 😍✈️
That was brilliant guys. One of the most out there clips I have seen....Shared on Facebook immediately xxxx Keep travelling and sharing x I would love to see you meet up with Samuel and Audrey, The Endless Adventurers, The Way Away for a meet and greet...You guys are all inspirational xxxx
Nate’s hair after the big plane takes off it amazing
TOO FUNNY! We were laughing so hard at that :)
The words you were looking for to describe the feeling on your skin when the plane took off is.... being sand blasted.... literally! LOL. I was there in December 2018 and it was crazy. I found sand on my body/head for days LOL
You guys got there at a great time before tons of people came
4:39 The slow motions are incredible !!!!!!!
I am from Saint-Martin on the French side! Glad to see you liked it!❤️
I've seen those videos on RUclips. But now watching your makes it really look like fun. I use to work at the airport, for an airfreight companu, so we would wait on the ramp, and yes, the jetblast can be pretty intense just idling. I miss that job
