Also wanted to thank you for this and your other videos. I’m just getting into plant tissue culture and much of the ‘procedural’ and lab setup information is lacking on RUclips. This is a great help and has steered me away from an InstantPot and towards a Presto or equivalent. Thank you!

Thank you! If you still like the simplicity or easier to use. InstantPot has a new model called "Max." It is the first electric (cheap) pressure cooker to keep a constant 15 PSI. instantpot.com/portfolio-item/max-6/

No one is making videos as informative as you. I currently use Plan Cell Technology PPM but these videos give me even higher respect for the company because you are taking your personal time to inform us so I thank you for that. I do have one question since you are speaking about pressure cookers. Does store-purchased distilled water in a gallon still have to be autoclaved or does it come sterile enough to use directly out the bottle? Thanks again for posting these videos.

Thank you so much for all these videos. Is it ok to reuse the same distilled water for multiple cycles? I'm limited to either using tap water or reusing distilled water for multiple cycles.

If you are going to use it the same day yes, just add more for for the water that has already evaporated.

@@PlantCellTechnology Thanks, so if you would use it after a couple of days or a week, the same water shouldn't be used?

      @@siimolen It's probably not a good idea.

Instant Pot makes a "Max" model that is the only one approved for pressure canning. Is that model possibly an exception to your rule?

I just took a look at it, and yes! According to Instant Pot, the "Max" model does keep a constant 15 PSI.

Hi I have a question 🙋‍♀️ is it safe to use a microwave or pressure cooker for food after using it for tissue culture. I have concerns it may be not safe.

We recommend having a dedicated pressure cooker or microwave for lab work.

Is there any water at all in the pressure cooker when you DO put the flasks in? I'm so lost on that part.

Can you tell me about this thing called streaking disease in christmas cactus? I m getting afraid to get cuttings off the net. Is there some way to tell if a plant has streaking disease? Is it visible?

    • @PlantCellTechnology

Generally, you observe narrow streaks on leaves., but it has been generally observed in corns and Christmas cacti have been seen to face root rots. Though, we tried to research "streaking diseases in Christmas cactus, didn't get any satisfactory results on the internet. Is your pant infected with the disease?

No, I don't have any affected with it ,but they mention it alot on those cactus facebook groups. They have some really gorgeous ones , like double mango, sangeeta and others. I just don't want to give the ones i have anything that would infect them.@@PlantCellTechnology

If you have a clean plant and you tissue culture using that, you will get clean plants in return. But, what's needed is maintaining a strict aseptic environment. @@carolbrinkley6189
