I wanted to go to Germany as early as possible, because they had elections yesterday, and there’s a chance they will implement more restrictions again once a new government has been formed.

I was in Munich for 8 nights from 14 sept to 22 Sept . Went via Vtl. Did 5 day trip from munich. Totally enjoyed myself with the cool weather; the scenic countryside and the quaint town. Somehow it feel safer in Germany, subway s Bahn is usually not crowded. People are well disciplined and observe safe distancing.
I didn’t notice even when seeing this clip probably 10 times during editing. Then once it was published, a friend texted me right away and said “Why is your mask upside down?” 😂
Now that I have done Germany Vtl, am hoping that govt opens up more Vtl so that we can visit other countries. It has been a good break from Singapore COVID. Germany is doing a better job in terms of living with COVID. Lives there are pretty normal esp in outdoor setting, mask is not required. It is like back to precovid days. They have strict indoor COVID measures but outdoor is like normal. Hope Singapore can learn from Germany. They are more chill than us.

Hi Seanne, it means you have to fly from Singapore directly to a VTL country. If you are going to Germany for example, you can not fly Turkish Airlines with a connection in Istanbul, (Singapore - Istanbul - Germany) because then by definition you have been in Turkey. Does that help make it more clear?

My pleasure. You can easily travel to any part of Germany under VTL. Theoretically you can even travel outside Germany, but then you need to be in Germany for 21 days before returning to Singapore.

I will make a separate video to address the VTL specifics of my trip, but in the interest of time let me address your points separately: 1. As an EP, the additional step we need to do is perform the VTL registration. All other steps are the same as for Singaporeans / PRs. 2. I did, but this is company policy, not a VTL requirement. 3. I stayed in Germany for 7 days.

I would not want to go to Munich Germany, going by the crowds on the streets and indoors, or even Sg, where I've seen hundreds of people, on RUclips videos, though wearing masks, inside shopping malls, which are the perfect breeding grounds for the Delta virus. Here in Ontario, we also don't have to wear masks outdoors, just indoors. But there are still some people wearing them, even though in the area where I live, the streets are wide and there's no crowds and lots of ample space for social distancing and avoiding getting too close to someone else. However, I cannot say the same for Toronto, where I presume must be crowded as well like Munich. So I won't go there, even though it's just an hour's drive away on highway. Especially risky without masks even though outdoors. My plans to travel to Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Vancouver, etc all within Canada have been put on hold because the airports are just too packed with people, scaring the wits out of me. What I've done this summer was to visit quaint pretty towns throughout Ontario by car during weekdays where and when out of town crowds are few. And I will only do patio/outdoor dining, and there's plenty of that in Ontario towns. Munich was on my bucket list for 2021, but then the pandemic struck. I heard from a friend who's Asian who visited Munich just before the pandemic that the people in Munich are actually very helpful. True? Love your video.

Yeah, I also felt that it’s a quite reasonable compromise. And for those who want to be extra careful, they can always keep on the mask outdoors.
For outdoor, wearing mask is optional but must be safe.
