- It's the end of 2018 so it's time for us to hand out some awards.
Making appearances this year are McFarlane Toys Fortnite figures, lots of Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series, Mythic Legions, Mezco and a giant Jurassic World T-Rex.
And, as a reflection of the great year we've personally had in 2018, we polled you, the action figure community, on what you thought the 10 best figures of 2018 were. There were definitely a few surprises.

It's funny, while tons of people consider this year one of the best yet for 6" scale figures, this was the year I kinda turned away from them in favor of robots. My list is pretty much entirely Gundam and Transformers with like... 1 Marvel Legend and the MK Goro.

Can't believe more people weren't aware of the TOMY Classic Sonic figure. A high premium figure with loads of articulation, multiple interchangeable hands and face portraits, a display stand and optional background (which can also store all the accessories) and a FREAKING CHILIDOG all for $30!!!! (I got mine for $23, thanks Amazon Prime!) Seriously, if more people knew about this thing, it would be topping every figure list for 2018, it's that good.
Boss Fight Studios also deserves an honourable mention for the continued high quality of the Bucky O' Hare line too. It's a shame I only just got the dispatch notice for the Storm Toad Trooper, so it would seem to just miss out on any 2018 recognition lists...

I'm seriously happy to see that Thing figure rank at number one. That figure is like my baby and I'm really happy to see it get the recognition it deserves. As someone who tries to keep up collecting both ML and transformers I am of the opinion that transformers and stuff like ML and the black series shouldn't be judged in the same list. I feel like they almost exist for different kinds of collectors. The people who really love the black series may not find the same satisfaction in a transformers figure no matter how good it is and vice versa. I think when judging action figures and transformers that should be separated. It's more fitting to have top 10 transformers of 2018 list and a top ten action figures of 2018 list.
I agree completelly man, I for one am more into import figures (tough that may have to do with me living in china for a long time) and feel that SH Figuarts, Revoltech, Good Smile Company and even Sentinel have a lot to offer to both the same and different types of collectors, same with Hasbro, Mattel and NECA. For Dan's top 10 of the year his picks are understandable since its his own opinion, but making a list over all seems a bit biased towards the more known ones; hell make this list in Asia and you may end up with a full roster of Gundam or other model kits
Thanks for the show. I'm stuck at work on Christmas day, it was wonderful to have my usual Tuesday Toy Galaxy to keep me company.

That Reservoir Dogs 1:1 scale action figure is very lifelike.
I got the Sauron wave for my self for christmas and he's an amazing figure and sweet wave! THING should be in all the number one for best figure trust! And Neca been nailing it with penny wise and ultimate lines. And happy holidays and new years for all the toy fig nation!

There really needs to be a top 10 for just higher end figures. Storm Collectibles Goro, Figuarts Thanos, Revoltech Carnage absolutely need to be top 5 at the very least.

Jurassic World's Super Colossal Tyrannosaurus Rex (whew) is the figure I never knew I needed until it was created. An actual 1/12 scale t-rex coming in the same year as the epic Sauron build-a-figure is all the impetus I needed to create a Savage Land-themed...well...future display. Future because I still don't have the room to display it, but soon. Oh yes...soon...
Amen to the 30$ figures! Glad you spoke up in a respectful but real way. Iron Factory 3rd party Transforms are amazing but 30$ bucks a pop and 3.5 inches tall. Negative ghost rider.
I have to 100% agree on the Hasbro Ant-Man figure, also the new transformers seige line. $5 more than what PotP, CW, and Titans return per figure.
Totally agree. Muloch and Gamorean Guard felt like such a cash crab. 20$ for a figure without a BAF piece and minimal accessories already feels like a rip off with the black series line.

I respect the opinions, as always. I think Transformers Siege may finally crack it's status as always a bridesmaid, never a bride in 2019. That being said...yeah I really want Walgreens Thing.

Hard to argue that top 10 list. Some really great figs. If any should be a 30 dollar figure, FF's Thing would rate. Extra head, extra hands, amazing paint, and it weighs 3 million pounds! If Thing can be done for $20 (as an exclusive, at that) then the rest can be done for $20.
Toys R Us Canada is starting to open stores in the US in the next year or so
