Love this show!!!!! Saint Seiya got me into Greek Mythology and into constellations. And the songs and music! Love them! Trying to find the manga of the other spin offs. But I'm gonna enjoy rereading my manga of the original.
Oh man, Saint Seiya is a legend. First, it was released at a time when anime had limited power and concepts. Characters who transcend boundaries and break laws have completely changed everything in Saint Seiya's world. You'll find science fiction between philosophy, physics and astronomy. Saint Seiya has created her own style. You can see Kurumada's ideas in today's anime. It also featured strong characters who competed with Marvel and DC heroes. the time it was the first to do this, and then cosmic personalities such as Kami Tenshi and others began to appear. Saint Seiya had the greatest credit for this... but today it is completely ignored because the biggest obstacle is America. Despite all this, the legend is still alive
America and it's Milton Friedman policies of keeping their kids in sleeping mode ...smh such a shame

Saint Seiya is the legendary anime. It is considered one of the biggest anime phenomenons of the 1980s. It would become the inspiration for future series and movies, including several Gundam series such as Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Bleach, Legend of Heavenly Sphere Shurato, Ronin Warriors, Wild Knights Gulkeeva and Clash of the Titans.
Saint Seiya is one of the best anime of all time.

Saint seiya is such a great show since i am Latino i got introduce to it at an early age and it was so good I haven’t watched the Poseidon arc because we couldn’t find the cd for it but I’m rewatching it again and one of my fav arcs is sanctuary and Asgard even tho its filler its still good.it just sucks how it doesn’t get a lot of recognition in the USA if it did then this show would be really popular i just need to watch the Poseidon arc and the hades arc and that’s it.:)
Yeah. Unfortunately, with how old the show is, it's much harder for it to get attention and traction in the U.S. these days. I definitely think it would have been more successful in the U.S. when it first started airing.

Which do you prefer? The original dub with illich guardiola or the Netflix dub.
Both have there strengths and weakness but overall I think the old dub for the Golds were better.

First all Shango outstanding POV of SS. Well what can I say? I am old SS fan who watch the series in a B/W Tv and even before I can call Anime, Anime. Unfortunately SS was not the one who introduced me to the Anime world and for that I didn't go inside of the SS fandom until two years ago. Start with The Classic, If you are watching the anime you can try Lost Canvas or Omega after, if you read manga you can Try Ep G Assasain, Sainta Sho or Lost Canvas as you wish after.
the masami kurumada (the original author) main timeline is saint seiya manga (1986) and Next Dimension that serve as prequel and sequel.. the others saint seiya is not masami kurumada creation

You can't call yourself a anime fan, if you haven't watch the classic Saint Seiya
Saint Seiya has undoubtedly the greatest soundtrack ever written in history of anime, as well as one of the greatest character designs courtesy of Shingo Araki, the armors (or cloths) are extremely beautiful specially the golden cloths. Battles are intense and keep you eager to keep watching, plot is interesting. And above all, Saint Seiya is the most influential shonen of all time, it was the direct influence of works like Bleach, Macross and Samurai Warriors, and indirectly if influenced the entire genre including Dragon Ball Z (Akira Toriyama wrote a letter to Masami Kurumara on that regard) One of the greatest animes of all time

Not going to lie, but it hits a nerve every time you say the West. The only place this was not broadcast properly was the USA and Canada and last time I checked they do not comprise the WEST!
Just finished the 115 episodes...HORRIBLE WRITING and overrated.... 5/10. Plus they should have made this anime the main characters or at least the MAIN as it is based heavily on Greek mythology... GREEK and not a Japanese band who conquer the world with their friendship while being bronze peasants...what a bummer.
