I got EA WRC myself! Even without a discount, it's got great value for it's content! I don't really play it *that much* now however.
•The career mode, my main motivation to play, is very static. Every season is usually the same rallies with the same stages and the same weather. Personally, i don't like that. For example, in the later F1 games you could select the amount of rounds and wich venues for that particular season to race at wich can keep things very fresh and might even give you some personal worldbuilding ideas in terms of real world events for your own career mode (financial crisis, certain nations having problems and so on).
•The AI difficulty isn't consistent across whole rallies and individual stages. Monaco is the best example. I tend to do well enough to lead after the first loop but when a blizzard sets in, it's like the AI can see through it perfectly while i'm stuck at a conservative pace.
•The same stages also annoy me even more because it's still this one BIG stage being chopped into 3 smaller ones or 2 medium size routes, though some have been altered. However, that's not enough for me. While IRL stages do get repeated, it's never back-to-back, it's always done in a loop with other routes. It's not realistic and, more importantly, not fun. DiRT 4 it's stage generator, while lacking variety and locations, it did give you unique stages every single time you generated one, giving you the chance to make loops! Also no Rally Ypres 😡😡😡 (jk, it's not on the calendar since a few years ago but having your local round is always a big bonus). D4 also had random events happening on these stages, making it more alive and dynamic. EA WRCs doesn't have any but i will say the suspense of going first and not knowing your rival's times is quite exciting!
•I genuinly love the car builder and livery editor though both could do with some more parts and shapes for even more variety. It's good for a first itteration but if it wants to stay relevant, it needs expanding!
•The car roster genuinly is one of the *best* in any console based racing game in recent years. Basicly everything, if not most, vehicles and classes are represented very well (especially the 2000s WRC Cars, Skoda Fabia my beloved ♥️). Drivetrain difference is also very Well translated to controllers though you might need to tweak it for max enjoyment. Some Cars do need tuning *just to keep them from spinning out* wich does scare me away from the RWD classes.
•Some graphical issue on console do damage the experience somewhat.
