    Say what you will, but I could watch this version over the 1968 version anyday.

      Basil was an accomplished fencer, and I was disappointed. This was actors reciting lines. The 1968 version had more passion, and depth. Romeo in 1968 when he realized what he'd done, he was in anguish on killing Tybalt. He felt not only did he make matters worse, but it might mean his love may hate him now. But as Pete says you're entitled to your own opinion.

      ​@@leftcoaster67 You said that! In this movie they are just...acting. it's so cold. I love Zeffirelli. They are passionate, they act with their soul, definitely the best!

      I wouldn't say they're cold in this film. It's just less dramatic than 1968.
