Stan Laurel was asked to appear in 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' in 1962 but politely refused. He'd said he would never appear without Ollie after Mr. Hardy's death, and stayed true to his word. What a gentleman, what a giant talent they both were. Thank you for this.
This really touched me. As a sixth grader I mailed Stan a letter letting him know how much I enjoyed watching their movies. He sent back a postcard with his photo. He signed it: "Thanks Anthony. Good Luck Always. Stan Laurel." He died a few weeks later.
@MrQlevert Nope, you're wrong. But I think you know that already, you're clearly someone who spends their life trolling. It was very nice to know that these two were friends first and comedy partners second. Normally one finds out that the members of a comedy duo hated each other ( Abbot and Costello, Cannon and Ball, Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin ... ).

10:20. I first saw this on A & E network in 1988. When Oliver said to/about the woman he used to walk to school with when they were both children, "She's still beautiful". I cried. I was a young man in my 20s, too. He is such a sweet, kind gentleman.
I have watched L&H movies and comedy shorts since childhood. I still do to this day, and it NEVER gets old. Same thing with the Our Gang/Little Rascals shorts, since both were produced by the Hal Roach Studios. But Stan and Ollie made slapstick comedy enjoyable for all the world to see and love. That's why they are all-time greats, along with Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd, and numerous other geniuses who made audiences laugh. They will never be replaced, sad to say. Thank you for the TIYL episode of December 1, 1954 featuring Laurel and Hardy.
When I was about 18 I lived in a big house for a year with seven other friends, we used to have big party's with loads staying over. Laurel and Hardy repeats used to be on free to air TV on a Sunday morning, and one by one whoever was in the house used to make their way downstairs and curl up somewhere under a blanket to watch it. The hangovers seemed to melt away for an hour while we were all pissing ourselves laughing watching these two clowning around. Great memories of two of the finest comedians to have ever lived.
Oh…this is so endearing. I loved these two men so much when I was a child. As an older adult I can truly appreciate what kind, humble people they were. That baby photo of Oliver Hardy was so adorable.❤️

Laurel and Hardy were the best comedy duo to grace our tv screens in the 20th century and even to date. I was really excited to see this and was thoroughly disappointed. That Ralph Edwards guy hardly gave them a chance to speak! He loved the sound of his own boring monotonous voice which domineered the whole show. Thanks for posting this though despite my comment.
As a 19 year old, who enjoys a fair amount of the movies or reels these two gentlemen have made with interest sparked from my father who in turn enjoyed it alongside his father. And in years to come, a hopeful appreciation may be shared alongside my son and me.

Thank you for sharing! I grew up with Laurel and Hardy movies on late Saturday mornings in the early 70s. This brings back memories of when it was special - the golden era of TV remembered.
Stan Laurel outlived Oliver by 8 years and was crushed by his death in 1957 and swore never to preform without him again. Despite numerous offers he never did. He was also unique in the fact he usually answered all his fan mail, kept a listed phone number and would let fans in his house for brief visits unannounced.

People came across so much nicer in those days it feels alien to me watching this on my smart phone we got the technology but not the happiness nowadays
I am from Greece, I spent great moments in my childhood years watching the movies of these two adorable actors and men and now in my 50s I watch their great movies with the same adoration and nostalgic mood every chance I get!
Yet didn't you find the FREEMASONRY reference kinda telling though. I guess that certainly helped their careers. Dont you think. As the World is JW controlled. Especially in their particular industry. 👌
Used to watch their silent movies and then the ones with sound dubbed into Spanish when I was a child. They were so loved in Latin America as well. Thanks for the good memories.
Greatest comedy duo of all time. They could make you laugh, without ever having one curse word, or vulgar act in their ENTIRE ACT. I am 38 years old and my dad, who would have been 70 now, used to watch them all of the time growing up. I loved watching them with him and laughing our guts out. He has passed on now for almost 20 years, and now both me and my little sister has introduced this great duo to my nephew. He is 13 years old and nearly stops breathing watching everything they ever put out. As I have almost their entire collection of short skits, and full movies. My personal favorite is probably Saps At Sea.
There was no laughter like my laughter when watching this amazing Duo when I was growing up. Watching this now with a "cheeky" little tear on my cheek.
The best, pure comedy at its finest . No one will ever get close to this duo. Any age at any time will laugh at Laurel and Hardy , can never be repeated . Thank You for making my childhood and adulthood so happy.. Rest in peace my comedy hero's !
I was born In 83 my grandad used to sit me on his lap and make me watch the episodes, its 1 of my oldest memories they were brilliant such decent human beings
Imagine thrilling, entertaining television that was uplifting, positive and perfectly clean and inoffensive! That spirit is sorely lacking these days because our so called 'entertainment' only adds to our stresses. It's a terrible shame that we can't see the direction we are heading in. And they were both such true gentlemen, what an impression they made here!!! The other striking observation I made watching this was how the host, Ralph Edwards was so carefully aware of Hardy's health and repeatedly reminded him to feel at ease to be seated. As a person with a disability, I find it very touching that he was able to prioritize his guest's health and comfort all through the program.
My Grandad had all the episodes recorded on vcr, i watched them endlessly as a kid in the 80s, legends may be an understatement. The world certainly changed.
The world certainly has changed and not for the better. By the 21st century don't you think the world should be a much better place? Disappointed, lied to as child, and totally disillusioned. J. XXX

Great show unlike today's garbage call about sex
People came across so much nicer in those days it feels alien to me watching this on my smart phone we got the technology but not the happiness nowadays
Comedians Laural and Hardy. What a class act.
I am from Greece, I spent great moments in my childhood years watching the movies of these two adorable actors and men and now in my 50s I watch their great movies with the same adoration and nostalgic mood every chance I get!
They were the golden age of comedy never to be forgotten, nowadays comedy will never be remembered like those years were .
I loved both of these Men. They gave the world so much happiness and joy, that is the best legacy anyone can leave this world
@MrQlevert you are an idiot
@MrQlevert Take your tinfoil hat off you stupid fuck, it's effecting your brain....
Two of Hollywood's most gentle men, their comedy will never be forgotten.
There will never be another duo like them. They were the greatest comedy duo ever assembled.
The best comedy duo ever .there wasn't any films that they never had you in stitches .pure geniuses
When Oliver would just look at the camera because Stan has done something. That look was beyond brilliant. Two beautiful souls.
I found this today and i'm already missing these lovely people. I feel blessed to watch this heart melting show. Thank you for sharing with all of us.
2 of the greatest comedy legends to ever grace our screens. Remember as a child in the 70’s laughing at their movies!
Probably the great comedic team of all times. Both so humble and sweet.
Comedians kings, Italy loves you guys
Absolute legends that will never fade as long as there is laughter in the world.
whatever
My Grandad had all the episodes recorded on vcr, i watched them endlessly as a kid in the 80s, legends may be an understatement. The world certainly changed.
The world certainly has changed and not for the better. By the 21st century don't you think the world should be a much better place?
Disappointed, lied to as child, and totally disillusioned. J. XXX
Oh Yes
Laurel and Hardy unmatchable legends. Who could forget Mr. Hardy's sytlish mannerisms and singing.
How I miss Laurel & Hardy! They were exceptionally funny! Thank you for this show, brought tears to my eyes, knowing how lucky I was to have been able to enjoy their comedy!
Great!! Great! Thank u for posting!!! 😀👍✌️🙋♀️
Legends, absolute legends and so humble.......As previous commenters have said, we’ll never see the likes of them again...,Love them 🖤
agree with you like 10 million percent!!
Absolute gentlemen, god bless them where ever they may be
Agree.. They were my favorite
Humble geniuses
So true, wish they were still with us x
fantasic growing up watching these guys as a kid loved them then later in my life my wife started working and still works for the late ronnie corbett an amazing family
No matter how many times I see their movies they still crack me up. The word Legends is nowhere near big enough to describe these two gentlemen. R. I. P Stan & Oliver
These gentleman ere way ahead of their time 100 years ago ... So sincere and.geniun their come across ... They don't make them like they used to ✌️🏆
Heartwarming “This is your life”. This makes me happy.
