Stan Laurel was asked to appear in 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' in 1962 but politely refused. He'd said he would never appear without Ollie after Mr. Hardy's death, and stayed true to his word. What a gentleman, what a giant talent they both were. Thank you for this.

My grandparents born in 1905 & 6. My parents born in 1930. My self and my siblings born in 1950s and 60s were all huge fans of Laurel and Hardy. We never missed a show. My 3 Children also loved Laurel and Hardy. Now their children are enjoying DVDs of Laurel and Hardy. These two men were Comedy Geniuses, who will never be bettered. They have give Joy to 5 generations of my Clan on Tyneside. Thank you boys and God Bless you. Your comedy and names will never die.
Greatest comedy duo of all time. They could make you laugh, without ever having one curse word, or vulgar act in their ENTIRE ACT. I am 38 years old and my dad, who would have been 70 now, used to watch them all of the time growing up. I loved watching them with him and laughing our guts out. He has passed on now for almost 20 years, and now both me and my little sister has introduced this great duo to my nephew. He is 13 years old and nearly stops breathing watching everything they ever put out. As I have almost their entire collection of short skits, and full movies. My personal favorite is probably Saps At Sea.
My Grandfather saw them on their visit to the UK and instilled in me a love of these incredible gentlemen which has lasted all my life and which I have passed on to my children. God bless them, they were simply the best.
As a 19 year old, who enjoys a fair amount of the movies or reels these two gentlemen have made with interest sparked from my father who in turn enjoyed it alongside his father. And in years to come, a hopeful appreciation may be shared alongside my son and me.
I feel quite emotional watching this episode of This is Your Life. When most of us go to our graves, not having amounted to much, and certainly leaving no lasting legacy. Here are two men, whose names will go down in history, and as long as there's motion pictures and a Holywood The names of Stan & Ollie will be remembered for giving so much pleasure to young and old.
I didn't know there was an American This is your life . Only British one. I've watched just about everything with laurel and hardy but I just got this in my feed , and I'm so glad .
There was no laughter like my laughter when watching this amazing Duo when I was growing up. Watching this now with a "cheeky" little tear on my cheek.
Even though I enjoyed watching this you can tell what poor health Mr. Hardy is in.. Even had I not known the year of his passing I would know by watching this he was not going to live much longer. Which has nothing to do with his weight. These two were brilliant comedians. My daughter and I watched the movie Stan & Ollie last week. At the end I said how great they were and even when I was in elementary in the 80s they would still show us their movies.. She is 15, looked at me and said "wait! That was based on a true story?" I guess I never realized someone had never heard of Laurel and Hardy.
I love these guys. I've watched them most of my life and I wish I could thank them for the thousands of hours of fun and laughter they have given me. They are the best!!

No matter how many times I see their movies they still crack me up. The word Legends is nowhere near big enough to describe these two gentlemen. R. I. P Stan & Oliver
As a child, I remember waking and then telling my dad that Laurel and Hardy said goodnight to me last night..... Only to be devestated that it wasn't real... Even tho I tried my best to make him believe me. 45yrs later, still find them hilarious and yes, still wish they'd really said goodnight... Although they'd probably just keep saying goodbye. Comedy genius, never to be repeated
I am from Greece, I spent great moments in my childhood years watching the movies of these two adorable actors and men and now in my 50s I watch their great movies with the same adoration and nostalgic mood every chance I get!
Oh…this is so endearing. I loved these two men so much when I was a child. As an older adult I can truly appreciate what kind, humble people they were. That baby photo of Oliver Hardy was so adorable.❤️
What absolute gentleman, now these are the type of celebrities we need back, to show what good moral standing and manners are, not the riff raff we have these days in celebrities.
People came across so much nicer in those days it feels alien to me watching this on my smart phone we got the technology but not the happiness nowadays
When I was about 18 I lived in a big house for a year with seven other friends, we used to have big party's with loads staying over. Laurel and Hardy repeats used to be on free to air TV on a Sunday morning, and one by one whoever was in the house used to make their way downstairs and curl up somewhere under a blanket to watch it. The hangovers seemed to melt away for an hour while we were all pissing ourselves laughing watching these two clowning around. Great memories of two of the finest comedians to have ever lived.
I love these guys, we are almost 70 years away from this show but, in the 21st century it is still current. Naive humor. I write from Brazil, here we love these guys even today.

....me to.Growing up in England, I watched a lot of LAUREL and HARDY.They would show them on British T.V in the seventies.Looking at this clip of them in their later years,it got me very emotional.Being a black guy from England, these two men got me through a rough childhood.I sure wish that I would meet them in person and tell them how much there comedy and them mean't a lot to me.
Two of the greatest comedians of all time, god bless em,God’s of comedy
I've never seen a video of these two live but their joy and kindness overflows . What a pair .
A much loved (and missed) comedy double.
Watching this has taken me back to my distant youth. Such innocence and so many laughs.
I still enjoy every Christmas holiday watching March of the Wooden Soldiers with Stan and Ollie they were my favorite comedic Duo because their friendship was so true peace to them and blessings to their families ✌️🍀❤️🙌🙏❤️💚🩵💜
The "love" and legacy these friends, who haven't seen them for nearly forty-five (45) years, is wonderfully unfathomable.
My Grandfather saw them on their visit to the UK and instilled in me a love of these incredible gentlemen which has lasted all my life and which I have passed on to my children. God bless them, they were simply the best.
They were the golden age of comedy never to be forgotten, nowadays comedy will never be remembered like those years were .
As a 19 year old, who enjoys a fair amount of the movies or reels these two gentlemen have made with interest sparked from my father who in turn enjoyed it alongside his father. And in years to come, a hopeful appreciation may be shared alongside my son and me.
Laurel and Hardy.... the Epitome of True Friendship!!!
Laurel and Hardy loved and respected each other unlike Martin and lewis
Laurel and Hardy loved and respected each other unlike Martin and lewis
These two were the best of the best. No one could come near them.
Harold Lloyd, I'd say. But sure, they were good.
The greatest comedians, the greatest double act ever. Never will they be forgotten.
I feel quite emotional watching this episode of This is Your Life.
When most of us go to our graves, not having amounted to much, and certainly leaving no lasting legacy.
Here are two men, whose names will go down in history, and as long as there's motion pictures and a Holywood
The names of Stan & Ollie will be remembered for giving so much pleasure to young and old.
@@peterlewis3540 brilliant could not have said it better myself.
I didn't know there was an American This is your life .
Only British one.
I've watched just about everything with laurel and hardy but I just got this in my feed , and I'm so glad .
I do admire them as the very best that came out of England and Hollywood.
2 of the greatest comedy legends to ever grace our screens. Remember as a child in the 70’s laughing at their movies!
As a child I loved these two they where so so funny 😂
They are legends and I still love them to this day and I am 56 my how time flys.
Rest in peace you two beautiful funny men.
I will never forget you you are all ways in my hart. ❤️ thank you for making my child hood. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
No matter how many times I see their movies they still crack me up. The word Legends is nowhere near big enough to describe these two gentlemen. R. I. P Stan & Oliver
'One of the greatest comedy teams of our time?' Now we know different. The greatest comedy team of all time! Period
Yes! The greatest of all time!!!
How brilliant are there accents. On both sides of the Atlantic back then we both spoke with class!
These gentleman ere way ahead of their time 100 years ago ... So sincere and.geniun their come across ... They don't make them like they used to ✌️🏆
When I was about 18 I lived in a big house for a year with seven other friends, we used to have big party's with loads staying over.
