    My dude those plugs look brand new. Definitely agree with checking them at 20-30k, but get you a feeler gauge and check the gap and those should be good to go for another 30k at least. Manual says 75k, and they assume you're actually going to drive an mx-5 pretty hard. Modern plugs last 100k in grocery getters all the time. Now if you had turbos or a supercharger on there, then yeah, it's going to eat plugs faster, but without forced induction and high compression ratios you should be fine just checking the gap every other oil change and making sure there's no discoloration on the ceramic insulator.

    Not being critical, but I would recommend using jack stands. I personally put my ND up on 4 cut to fit 6x6’s under each tire to any undercarriage work. Takes a little longer but It could save you from a really bad day.

    Besides Buying the jack stands I would suggest cleaning the MAF sensor. Takes about a 1/2 hour & 15 minutes of that is letting it dry after spraying it with the cleaner. Nice job on the cabin air filter, asked around & this was the 1st of ever seeing one in a ND / ND2.

    Una mejora barata y real son los fusibles por nanofuses de la compañía japonesa magical fuses.sobre 150$.
    Los okada coil packs también,pero son caros.
    Saludos de España y gracias por los tips

    I’m sure they were the OEM plugs, modern plugs can go 100k miles. I usually change about every 30.

    Hi, in Europe the spark plug change (by Mazda) is to be done at 100 000kms, modern engines with computer management don't ruin plugs like old engines did. For the filter, I installed stainless steel bug screen over the air intake so that debris and animals can't get in, I didn't install a paper filter as I drive the car mostly open top.

    So my only issue at this point is a check engine light(misfire ord one or more pistons) occasionally on a cold start up. Easy to clear and doesn’t happen often but does happy. Running .30 gap on hot plugs.

    Hey so according to the service manual the oem spark plugs have a lifespan of like 75k miles. I was really surprised and asked a friend at Mazda about tha. Apparently they can easily last that long. That said, i wont wait that long to change mine obviously. Just feels wrong haha

    • @kyleworksoncars
      @kyleworksoncars  Год назад +2

      yeah i know they say new cars can go that long but you feel the loss in power when you dont have new ones for sure

      also my car is a 2016 so the plugs may not have hit the milage but they are 6 years old

    Is it possible to put a paper air filter like in all other cars in the place where you put the mesh? Would be easier to replace.

    • @kyleworksoncars
      @kyleworksoncars  Год назад +1

      They don’t have one from factory so they don’t expect you to chang it lol they just have the mesh to get the blower clean but the filter is worth it

      @@kyleworksoncars I know they don't have it, so you say better having it dirty than don't have it at all? That is true, my air vents are alredy a bit dusty after less than 2 years. Maybe I'll consider it, but I live in Italy and I don't know if it exists in europe, maybe I will make it with a sponge filter...
