The hard plastic steering wheel on the Dumbo RC X6 is pretty annoying, but there is a cheap, easy fix for this radio transmitter. Special thanks to PC Planet for this idea!

Cut up a beer kush, glue it on, $1
Something must of changed. Cannot slide off black plastic tire. There must be CA glue used. Tried for 20 minutes, no luck. Going to try heat now. Update: Dunked it in boiling water for 10 seconds and tire came right off. CA glue is now used around the outer edge of the wheel (closet to the fancy spoke side).

Mine was stuck also, thanks for the boiling water tip, with some force I got it off.

Not sure whether they've changed the design, but I struggled to remove the black 'tyre' section from the coloured (in my case blue) wheel. In the end, I gave up but did manage to stretch the foam band from my 124019 transmitter around the wheel and tyre. This works really well and doesn't reduce the size of the wheel.
I had a rc tyre laying around that whas the same size made it a bit slimmer and real grippy
0:35 Mr Razor RC - Then that little plastic black ring -- slides right off. No problems there
Me - Hair dryer and pounding the back with a mallet and pressing with all my might for 30 mins to get it off.

I recently purchased this radio and found an alternate upgrade. An old Futaba 2 channel radio steering wheel(silver with the nice rubber shell) will bolt right on with correct stops. Just need a small 1/8" shim under the wheel in the center to keep it from pushing on too far and binding.

so I tried doing this however it appears to be that the insert is somehow either glued or really stuck. I will take my time since I do not want to break it......... After further review I was able to remove the outer shell and was successful in placing the foam around the wheel!!! thanks

I just wrapped some grip tape (ones used for tennis rackets, etc) on mine :P

Is trimming the plastic necessary? Seems like it would be a great place to glue the foam to the wheel.
Guess I'll find out. Just ordered foam to replace the plastic on mine

Would love to see someone dismantle the 4x or 5x and see if it can be modded to add the 6ch.
Have had 2ch transmitters in the past where the circuit board had the plugs and all u had to do was solder a switch and it worked.

yup. I am using a Lion batt in there. Its using small jst plug (usually red).
