I had set up my crawler with a winch. Used channel 4 first. But it would slowly "drift" and pull in the winch line(already snapped it once) Not positive this is the info I need but I'm going to try it. My transmitter is almost 4 years old now, and without touching the steering at all, if you lightly shake the controller, the steering wheel is loose enough to let the steering servo twitch all over. Been happy enough with it up till now, but I think it's time to upgrade to something where I can adjust the deadband.
Go for a flysky remote try something different. DumboRc haven't got complete end point adjustments for steering or throttle. Just channel 3-4 can be altered. So like I say try a flysky or something abit more crawler friendly
If your batteries in the control are running low the light flashes on the control. Change ASAP, If you run out of range (500m) the car should come to a stop depending on how fast you were traveling you'll crash.
Great video. I have a question about the V4.. After the radio steering and trigger is set, how do I keep my Ch1 Servo from hitting the car or front suspension? Thanks
I don't understand that last part, so you've set the control and everything works. But your servo is hitting the car? Or front suspension? Have you got the arms on backwards? I'd like to help.
Use the duel rate dial on the remote, turn your wheels fully one way. Hold the position and use the dial to decrease steering angle. Just untill the wheel stops moving, now turn the wheel to the opposite side, repeat the process untill your happy the car isn't over steering I to the arms.
No once your end points are set with one car, your good to go each time. If you use the control for another car, then you might want to reset end points for that car.. hope that answers your question thanks for the comment
Thank you so much! Fixed so many issues I had with this controller from factory. Question though. How to adjust ch 5&6 endpoints? Also with a servo on ch 5 or 6 for me when powered on they move a bit on their own. Then again when requested with button. How to stop them from self moving?
I don't believe channel 5&6 have endpoints, only channel 3&4 can be set like that. I don't fully understand you last part, are you using a button version control (no dial). If so the buttons only act like on/off switches.
Have you tried EPA less than 100% for throttle and steering by not going to stop points on the controller? Just a thought. That way you could have les than full beans acceleration without affect on braking…
if you watch the video, when you dont hit maximum EPA, It seem to put the steering into a rage. So acceleration might be sketchy too, other than that you can adjust everything on the control.
Why won't it work? If your lights have the correct wiring loom then yes channel 3 will be on/off or multi function depending on your light set up. Channel 4 should be perfect for a winch, make sure channel 4 is set in the centre position before connecting your winch.
Great help. If u have multiple receivers can u make changes to each car and have it remember the settings?. Or what u adjust on one receiver will be the same on all cars??
Unfortunately the control doesn't remember the settings. You have to reset the control to neutral end points and channel direction before changing to another car.
@@mehimrc1314 sorry I've only seen this now but the controller won't work with my esc. There's nothing I can do. Everyone that has the same setup had this problem
Is there any way to set a deadzone for the throttle.. mine is very sensitive... so 1/1000mm it either hits reverse or forward from the "neutral" position of the throttle.. Tried calibration and fildeling with the adjustment...
Great video, I have a question regarding the adjustment dials at the top. My throttle wont go to zero, I have to have it turned to 3 on the left before it stops driving forward. Is there anyway to neutralise it so the dial is on zero?
Couple of things,, have you calibrated your control with all dials at neutral position? What ESC have are you using? If possible change your neutral range position. Hope this helps Darcy 👍
@@mehimrc1314 I've tried calibrating the remote with the dials all in the neutral position and also with it at the position 3 and winding it back to netrual while holding the throttle on while calibrating it. Hey thanks for your Video. I followed your explaination. But i have still a problem after calibrating in normal mode. I turn the steering to 100% but i only get about 60% steering. Any idea what i can do?
Yes there more than likely is a difference, that's why instructions are set to follow. Also try rebinding the control to the receiver with all duel rates at 100%
Can you give your car more steering? Just installed the received and it was easy but it seems the steering might need more steering, its kind of wide steering
It think that's possible depending on how your lights are set up. If you have three wires going into channel 3 ect. So if you have a micro switch on your lights channel 3 Should work as ON/OFF.
Hi, first of all, geat video, very educational. I was wondering can you help me. I have a problem with my Dumborc x6 transmitter. On channel 4 I have a winch motor, and when I turn of the transmitter (ch4 button is in the neutral position) my winch motor turns on and I can turn it off, only if I unplug the receiver for the power. I have done some research online, and it seems to me that there is a failsafe on ch4 that activates when I turn the transmitter off, buy that failsafe is not setup to be in neutral position. Do you know how could I solve this problem? Thank you in advance.
Do you know how to reverse the gyro action? Mine steers opposite the skid instead of into the skid. Thus my car spins out easier as I turn channel six up higher. Almost impossible to steer with gyro at full sensitivity.
Is there a way to save deadpoints for ch 4, I regulate how far I want them in setting mode and all is fine, but as soon as I turn off remote, the car just reverts positions and keep on breakinf stuff, in my cace gearshift on my rc crawler.
Strange mine always needed reset, the control automatically left my setting as I set them. Even when I switched the control and car off, unfortunately the control hasn't got "save" button as such just a setting menu you enter and leave. Sorry I can't help further than that 😞
If you read the manual upside down while standing on your head, it comes to you like a rush of blood 🤣 nar I just read it over and over and messed my control up loads before hey presto I got it. This is only the basics, i still can't get my head around setting different channels but since I personally don't need that function why bother, glad it helps bro 👍
@Me Him Rc greatly, I am building a injora trx4 clone and the shift servo( after centering the horn with channel 5) has too much throw forward Into low gear but not enough in reverse its like it only sees 25% of the range in one direction but not the other 🤷♂️ hopefully this fixes it when I get home 😁
Hmm I'm not used to hearing channel 5 being used for servo function. Channel 3/4 can be adjusted for servo throw using the setting as I show how to adjust. Maybe ill have another look into changing channels like channels 5/6 not sure how much adjustability they'll have. Your clone sounds interesting and I hope you find a good combination of functions for lights ect.
@Me Him Rc I took the servo horn off, put it in channel 5, put it at as close to the middle as I could and aligned the horn to the middle hoping I could set the channel 4 switch for high/neutral/low like on my WPL c24 but the throw on this receiver from factory is like 15-25% and the one for my WPL (X4 radio) was 50% and just perfect for the shift rod length out the box, this one...not so much 😂
Hmm I hate to say this but I think that's all channel 5 has to offer, I understand through your explanation why you like it that way makes perfect sense. Well I think our work here is done I wish I could of gave more answers however I'm at a loss on channel 5.
Great video, really detailed. I might have a good question for you. Got a weird thing happenning with one of my dumborc receivers. Fail safe settings are the issue. After i turn off the transmitter before switching off the ESC, the receiver applies throttle to the engine. I cannot find any info on the web how to reset or turn off these fail safe settings. The receiver is a X6YC(G) if that makes any difference. Funny beacause it doesnt happen on my other receivers (x6f & x6fg) while using same x6a controller ( i already followed your instructions to reset the controller ) Any help higlhy appreciated 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow that was well wrote, great to understand someones issues and what they've already noticed. Personally I have ZERO knowledge of this (X6YC) you speak of, but from what you've wrote I'd say the receiver could be faulty. BUT you do say you turn the control off before the receiver, that's a no no you should know better 🤣 Maybe your getting some residual power from the cap packs of the ESC that's powering the receiver and with no control it will do as it pleases. Turn the car off first, then the control see if it still happens. Electrics cars can still have run aways but only in my opinion if the receiver has gone/faulty. Hope this helps and thanks for an easy read 😊
@@mehimrc1314 Thanks ;) Haha yeah i know i know its a nono ;) i do it only on the bench ;) but this realy got me surprised. It's a nono indeed, but imagine loosing signal or battery power in the transmitter while driving, default shoult be that it swithes to neutral, in my case the rc would drive itself forward. So far i managed to find some info that it's the fail safe settings. But no instruction or knowledge how to deal with it ( reset receiver settings or change to neutral on signal loss )
Rebind the control and the receiver by holding the button down on the receiver untill it flashes. If not it could be static/emf from the electrics. Also possible faulty receiver?
Are you able to adjust 3 4 5 or 6 channel with vehicle on? Because guessing the 25 percent or such for servos would be a pain. With vehicle on, you could fine tune to where you need them.
Channels 5-6 I have messed on with yet,, at 8:09 I explain how to change channel 3-4. I wouldn't do anything with the car on. It's a case of,,, On off on off unfortunately dude.. You can change to order of the buttons in the settings something I'll never do but you can
Not just nitro, but I grabbed two old traxxas models that have the 27mhz systems. They need to go, so with this radio setup, I need a third channel for reverse. And I need end point adjustment on throttle and brake and reverse servo. But I wanna be able to do it with the servos active, so I can fine tune it for the throw.
@@jakec79 throttle adjustment can be done via the throttle trim. You can add a servo to channel 3 or 4 and adjust end points like in the video for your reverse. I don't do nitro but I looked into what your asking. Hope this helps if not I'll learn with you.
What we talking, like for a winch forward and reverse? Channel 3 is just a button so no setting that. Only on/off unless you've got a module with multiple functions channel 3 will toggle them. Channel 4 maybe if set to the middle position before setting up control. Maybe possible to set something to that channel and have a forward/reverse function. Guessing why your asking is a tricky business lol 🤣 hope this help brother
@@mehimrc1314 i'm just wondering if you can reverse servo direction on channel 3/4 in the setting menu, where setting endpoints. Do the switches controlling channel 1 and 2 direction control channel 3 and 4 in the settings menu..? I'm waiting for servo to come in to control shifting in a crawler. Want to set it to button ch3. Use the remote for different cars, so would be nice if i can set which gear it is in when button is off, if that makes sense.
@@leovandijk8852 Makes perfect sense bro, the lower trim dials adjust channel 3/4 not the upper ones in menu mode. For gear changing channel four is your go too button if anything, channel 3 won't do jack for that, its on or off. Reversing servo on those channels isnt possible, same as the steering servo. Once in the trim is reversed if you've noticed lol.
i just got one of these an put in a car that ive 3d printed. the motor trys to go full throttle tho when connect to the transmitter. i can push forward to hit breaks or reverse an it will stop but ive not been able to figure it out. im new to all this stuff an the instructions that came with the transmitter are very limited an dont explain anything that i can find that will help my issue. suggestions?
just hooked it to a esc, motor an servo out side of the car an it seems to work fine. i had to adjust the trim a very small amount for the throttle to get it to not spin the motor. i hope the motor is good cause i picked it up a couple months back an have just not gotten around to try it an if its bad out of the box i dont have any option of returning it now.
You've got dual rate adjustment for throttle and steering. I've not tried to find an end point with in setting for steering. Possibly could be there just not found, channel 3/4 have EPA adjustability.
I have the dumborc transmitter 6 channel. I have a problem with it i noticed the throttle trigger is being so touchy and makes my rc run itself i have throttle at 0 and when i shake the transmitter side to side it flicks the rc with its wheels and also in trying to go in reverse. I would tap it alot to get it in reverse. I tap my transmitter to make it stop. And also goes forward and im holding brake and if i let go goes forward and its frustrating because i spent nearly 42 dollars for this remote. I tried the steps on the video but my car kept going off on me and made it frustrating to do it.
Have you calibrated your ESC in anyway? If your neutral position has been moved it can effect the remote calibration. Set esc to default setting and retry the remote control calibration 👍
so we want to set throttle and steering to 100% when we are ready? you went over channel three and four but i thought steering and throttle were channel 1 and 2 lol. i'm confused, so bad at electronics
Your not confused, channel 1 steering and 2 is for throttle. Go into setting mode and move steering left/right then let go. Do throttle next go full acceleration/full reverse then leave the trigger. Press channel 3 to save settings then turn off the control should be easy harder to explain in text format.
@@mehimrc1314 I see, I think I was getting confused about knobs. I thought they had to be "set" in a certain position before leaving the setting mode. It sounds like they just adjust the position of steering/throttle based on where you set the end points. Thanks again, thank you! I'm subbed now 😀
One thing to add, there are apparently 3 different versions of the software, each with different ways to get into settings or to change the mode from mixed/tank mode to standard controls.

older ones:
settings: from off, hold steering full right, no throttle. turn on, release steering, push #3 to enter settings... light will start flashing, and #3 again to save
mixed/tank mode: from off, hold throttle at full reverse, no steering. turn on, hold full reverse until light starts flashing, then pull to max forward to switch modes. red is tank, blue is standard
my X6 is slightly different, and doesn't match any instructions i've seen anywhere...
settings: from off, hold left and full throttle, turn on, *keep held until light starts to flash*, then release, press 3 to enter settings and 3 again to save when done
mixed/tank mode: from off, hold right and full reverse, turn on, *keep held until light flashes red/blue*, then release, press 3 to enable changing the mode, then full throttle to switch modes, then 3 to save.

I had set up my crawler with a winch. Used channel 4 first. But it would slowly "drift" and pull in the winch line(already snapped it once)
Not positive this is the info I need but I'm going to try it.
Most appreciated !
Thanks bro
Do you know how to set up the fail safe /runaway protection?
Your not the first person to ask this, I don't think these controls have that feature. I could be wrong but I'd look into it a little.

I just subbed! Thanks again!
Sweet dude
good video thanks . Have that 1st radio failsafe for battery loss?
If your batteries in the control are running low the light flashes on the control. Change ASAP, If you run out of range (500m) the car should come to a stop depending on how fast you were traveling you'll crash.
Great video. I have a question about the V4.. After the radio steering and trigger is set, how do I keep my Ch1 Servo from hitting the car or front suspension?
Thanks
I don't understand that last part, so you've set the control and everything works. But your servo is hitting the car? Or front suspension? Have you got the arms on backwards? I'd like to help.
The front of turning so good that it's hitting the arms
Use the duel rate dial on the remote, turn your wheels fully one way. Hold the position and use the dial to decrease steering angle. Just untill the wheel stops moving, now turn the wheel to the opposite side, repeat the process untill your happy the car isn't over steering I to the arms.
Thanks man! Much appreciated
Is the dual rate part of the steering, trigger mode?
You did everyone a favor! Thank you! 😊
Is it possible to set endpoints for channels 5 and 6 in the click-buttons version?
You could try the same process as shown, then try the channel once you've set the limit.
Not knowing is only a try away 👍

No once your end points are set with one car, your good to go each time. If you use the control for another car, then you might want to reset end points for that car.. hope that answers your question thanks for the comment
Good video love it very informational. And what you got.in.that little.beast for electronics ie: motor????
Glad it helps, this is running some nasty cheap 80amp ESC with a 5200kc motor. Got 66mph out of it so far I think that was 3s
Great video 👍👍👍
Hope it was understandable and thanks for the comment.
Great video thnks
Hope it helps you in some way 👍
I’m planning on using channel 3 for lights and channel 4 for my winch. Will this work?
Why won't it work? If your lights have the correct wiring loom then yes channel 3 will be on/off or multi function depending on your light set up. Channel 4 should be perfect for a winch, make sure channel 4 is set in the centre position before connecting your winch.
@@mehimrc1314 ok thank you for the help

Great help. If u have multiple receivers can u make changes to each car and have it remember the settings?. Or what u adjust on one receiver will be the same on all cars??
Unfortunately the control doesn't remember the settings. You have to reset the control to neutral end points and channel direction before changing to another car.
Thanks!!!!!

I have esc plugged into channel 1 receiver, and servo steering in channel 2. Is this correct? Seems ok so far, but have only used it twice yesterday.

Nope 🤧

Tried calibration and fildeling with the adjustment...
I definitely learned something but after putting this setup on my Traxxas rustler it goes but it lags and I have no reverse?
Cheers dude just wondering Can you calibrated your ESC? For the control end points. That might get your reverse working again.
Great video, I have a question regarding the adjustment dials at the top.
My throttle wont go to zero, I have to have it turned to 3 on the left before it stops driving forward.
Is there anyway to neutralise it so the dial is on zero?

What ESC have are you using? If possible change your neutral range position.

At my dumborc not.
Yes there more than likely is a difference, that's why instructions are set to follow.
Also try rebinding the control to the receiver with all duel rates at 100%
Can you give your car more steering? Just installed the received and it was easy but it seems the steering might need more steering, its kind of wide steering
On the x6f receiver yes.
if you have the x6f-G receiver I don't know.
Does the receiver have to be placed in a certain position for the gyro to work?
Not really but I prefer the rear or the car of possible.
@@mehimrc1314 Thanks for the reply
do you know if it is possible to have channel 3 just turn off and on? like for lights to turn off and on
It think that's possible depending on how your lights are set up.
Turn channel 6 to the max, then on the receive press the button in twice. This should fix your nightmare dude

Man this saved me so many headaches, how did you find this out because the manual and website are useless for info
If you read the manual upside down while standing on your head, it comes to you like a rush of blood 🤣
nar I just read it over and over and messed my control up loads before hey presto I got it.
Funny beacause it doesnt happen on my other receivers (x6f & x6fg) while using same x6a controller ( i already followed your instructions to reset the controller )
Any help higlhy appreciated 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow that was well wrote, great to understand someones issues and what they've already noticed.
Personally I have ZERO knowledge of this (X6YC) you speak of, but from what you've wrote I'd say the receiver could be faulty. BUT you do say you turn the control off before the receiver, that's a no no you should know better 🤣
Maybe your getting some residual power from the cap packs of the ESC that's powering the receiver and with no control it will do as it pleases.
@@mehimrc1314 The only thing left i can think of, is hitting up Dumbo directly - hope their after sales support is any good.

You can change to order of the buttons in the settings something I'll never do but you can
@@mehimrc1314 yeah, it's something I'd like to try. Like end points. Cause on a nitro, servos don't always need full 100 percent.
@@jakec79 you running nitro, ah well you'll want to be carefull incase of a run away lol. What is it your wanting to do?
Not just nitro, but I grabbed two old traxxas models that have the 27mhz systems. They need to go, so with this radio setup, I need a third channel for reverse. And I need end point adjustment on throttle and brake and reverse servo.
But I wanna be able to do it with the servos active, so I can fine tune it for the throw.
@@jakec79 throttle adjustment can be done via the throttle trim. You can add a servo to channel 3 or 4 and adjust end points like in the video for your reverse. I don't do nitro but I looked into what your asking. Hope this helps if not I'll learn with you.
So you decided to show the radio face after all-He He!
It's a face only a mother could love but yes. I thought as a homage to a friend I'd show my face lol.
Thanks for this.
Can you set forward/reverse for channel 3 and 4 in the settings too?
Once in the trim is reversed if you've noticed lol.

just hooked it to a esc, motor an servo out side of the car an it seems to work fine. i had to adjust the trim a very small amount for the throttle to get it to not spin the motor. i hope the motor is good cause i picked it up a couple months back an have just not gotten around to try it an if its bad out of the box i dont have any option of returning it now.
Sounds like you managed to find the solution yourself, always check your trims 👍
So EPA is not possible for throttle and steering?
You've got dual rate adjustment for throttle and steering. I've not tried to find an end point with in setting for steering. Possibly could be there just not found, channel 3/4 have EPA adjustability.
@@mehimrc1314 Yeah, but DR adjust bothleft/ right, forward/ reverse at the same time. I want to be able to adjust each way separately
Get an SLT3 with the receiver you can you do that on there. I haven't used many other controls
Where did you buy the tires?
Modelsport.
