Geoffrey Young I agree with you 100%!!!! If there's a Pink Panther TV show to be made and based on the 1964-1977 movies and if they're looking for somebody to play Clouseau, it's Geoffrey Rush!!
I think that Geoffrey Rush pulled this one of brilliantly. Not only did he do a great job at acting as Peter sellers he also looks like him. He's full of fantastic talent.
I thought that Geoffrey Rush did "such" a great portrayal of Peter Sellers, that, interestingly, when I first saw the trailer for the King's Speech, and then the Pirates of the Caribbean (two films I've still yet to watch, actually), I felt as if were seeing Peter more than Geoffrey - and that's meant as a sentimental form of a big compliment.
I recently got this movie from goodwill brand new and watched it was a great movie geoffrey rush sounded just like sellers Great job on the video man keep up the great work
In contrast to the re-created old Clouseau introduction footage for “The Pink Panther” scene, the real Peter Sellers’ legs to go up after performing the slipping on the globe with hand fall act as shown in the original footage from the “Pink Panther” movie.
It's easy to say "Isn't RUclips great (?)" for something like this -- which is true, of course. But each video also has a person behind it that makes it work. Molodetz, Dimitri (!)
Fun fact: If it weren't for the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Geoffrey Rush wouldn't have done this movie. When he was first offered this movie, he turned it down, because he though he didn't have the right mindset for it. But after he finished the first Pirates movie, he changed his mind, because it was something about doing it that he thought put him in the right minset.
Rush is certainly a good actor, but i concur, besides the physical resemblance there isn't much 'soul' in the portrayal. But then again I've yet to see anything similar which did a better job; it's not easy to nail down the nuances of another actor's performance.
The 'Being There' bit was pretty close to the real thing, I thought, and his Clouseau scenes weren't far off (aside from the backdrop not matching, he fell over similarly).
It"s the same thing I thought when they made the "Three Stooges" movie...why re-create (sub-par) versions of scenes when the ACTUAL footage still exists?! It makes no sense...there is the REAL Peter Sellers to watch. End of story.
because it would be weird to cut to another person also, picture quality, frame ratio also, they would have to pay to the rights of the movie also, why not? it's fun to recreate. it puts the actor more in touch with the character. there's so many motives, makes no sense at all what you are saying
@@dimitreze I wasn't saying cut original footage IN...I'm no fool, I realize that wouldn't work(unless it was a documentary...& there are already several excellent ones out about Peter Sellers). I just don't think the whole movie in general works that well(although Peter himself would've loved the idea of Rush "becoming" another person- Sellers- through the make-up & costuming, as that was his favourite thing!) But the BOOK that the film was based on is a over-long & convoluted read, so I wasn't surprised that I didn't like the movie based on it. Just my personal opinion...
Should have used Rush instead of Martin for the Pink Panther remakes.....

Martin played his own interpretation of Clouseau. Rush would've just imitated Sellers' performance.

That was really not a easy task to play a multidimensional character actor like Peter Sellers but Geoffrey Rush pulled it off very well.
Excellent editing and presentations
thanks :)
Damn, the resemblance at 3:30 is uncanny.

There can only be one Peter Sellers!

Maybe after working with Jonny Deep, he learnt something
Sometimes it's hard to believe that a movie like this came from the director of Predator 2 and The Dream Child.
it's easier when you know that also came from the screenwriters of Winter Soldier, Civil War and Infinity War
Best Actor ever thanks man
you welcome! :)
Well, he went a little funny in the head... You know, just a little... "Funny"
Excellent
Funny Games scene comparisons next please?
I thought he played him excellent
Am I the only one who finds it a pretty mediocre performance? Rush is a fine actor, but I see very little Sellers in his portrayal.

Where can i find this movie? it seems to be I cant find it anywhere!
most likely piratebay
it's a great movie
the screenplay was made by the writers of Endgame and other Marvel movies
@@dimitreze Thank you!
The scene with sofia loren?
I couldn't find the scene in the movie. As well as the Casino Royalle scene. I think they made those scenes up. :/
deleted scenes probablh
I think that scene was recorded for a comedy song but not included in the movie itself.

Peter was way more beautiful than the actor
