    Hi Marcel I like your solar panel system on your camper, and I always changed the oil and filters about every two months,, and the transmission and differentials once a year. I changed the gear oils so frequently because moisture builds up in the cases and forms an acid over time. I hope you are doing well with your Amsoil business Marcel and stay healthy and happy man.

      @@irnieracing It's a 1979 Z-28 Camaro I bought it new. I bought a life time air filter from my Cousin who was an Amsoil Dealer. I don't think I had official Amsoil oil for the Filter.. I think I used 85W-140 Mineral oil that I use in Truck rear axles ..
      Maybe Amsoil does not use foam anymore, but they did when I bought one and it disintegrated over the years and I went back to a 4" tall 14" paper air filter.

    We tried bybass filters at the railroad for jockey trucks. Cummins 6bt engines. They did this thinking they could save money on oil changes. We started loosing engines sooner. We started changing the oil every 250 hours no matter what, and we got longer engine life.

    Have you sent some used amsoil in for analysis? Wonder if the detergents break down and become ineffective which would be bad for diesels because they produce soot.

    My Friend drove his Duramax 700,000 miles Delivering Campers.. had to replace the Injectors one time.
    I will ask him what brand of oil he uses..
    My friends wife Works at Outerwear's in Schoolcraft MI they are the only source that I know of for those Pre-Filters.,. they purchase the material to make them from Germany ..

      Probably Rotella. Anyone putting that kind of mileage on their vehicle isn’t likely to splurge for the expensive, marginally better oil. I worked on a 3500 Ram with 1,200,000km that delivered campers too, still going strong as ever too.

      I think you missed the point of the video? Extended drain intervals not only reduce oil changes, but downtime! How many oil changes would I have performed if AMSOIL didn't exist, and I didn't know about Oil analysis? 70,000 miles divided by 5000 miles (typical oil change interval) is 14 oil changes to my 1. How much time is wasted, and how much labor and oil cost is associated with those 13 more oil changes? When I bought the AMSOIL 5w40 in 2017 it was around $14 per quart x 14 quarts. $196 cdn for the oil cost. How much does a quick lube or shop charge for a diesel mineral oil change these days? $200. Say all 14 oil changes were $175 to be safe. $175 x 14 = $2450 for oil alone.

    You let the cat out of the bag. If you're putting one to two quarts of fresh oil in every 5,000 mi then you're basically changing your oil on a regular basis because you're burning it. Maybe it's because you're changing your bypass filters and you're not actually burning it but you're having to replace it with a new filters. Either way you're putting in 1/3 of the capacity of brand new oil on a very regular basis. I changed my Prius oil every 10,000 mi but if I put in two quarts every 5,000 mi that'd be 50% change and I equal four quarts every 10,000 mi just like I already do.
    Sorry, not impressive. Nice quick bait title though.

    • @irnieracing
      @irnieracing  2 месяца назад +1

      Change Bypass Filters once a year, which looses 2 quarts in proceess. Adding 2 quarts per year also helps replenish Additives in the oil. 70,000 miles with never draining the oil in a 14 quart system, and your not impressed by proving this. Haha good day 😄
