  • Hi Guys! In this video I team up with Ziterdes and use some of their foam products combined with a bunch of toys and ended up building a crazy abandoned outpost come pirate radio station. I cover a range of modelling techniques and if you have any questions or would like to know more about materials etc give me a shout. Enjoy!
A huge thank you to Thomas from Ziterdes for the homie hookup.

By the end of it, I completely forgot that you've torn apart some of those toy trucks. They just fit so well and awesome transformation! Love the details in this build especially your painting job.

This scene is soooo rich in story, even without the figurine. Each detail, gun impact, cracks, scratch tells something that could have happened. Something is sure, it was a bad day around this bastion haha. An entire novell could be written just by looking at your work. Amazing, keep going ;)

Dude I love the way you are pulling a whole story out of this. I count that as a win - if you can fire anothers imagination then you are doing something right. Really appreciate you taking the time to write such a nice comment!

It does look amazing! And I agree. Just that glimpse at the finished product even without the figures just makes me imagine some manner of fierce battle took place there at some point in time.

I build scenery like this onto square cake bases, so they can be fitted together in many different ways, making a whole table top come alive and be played over. I buy old toys from charity shops for literally pennies, along with squirt guns/rifles, and make some very fun terrain and vehicles from them. I also get huge bags of waste cardboard from a discount shop, which keeps both myself and them happy, as I get lots of free ingredients for terrain making, and they don't have to pay the huge recycling charges shops are charged here in Ireland. Charity and discount shops are wonderful places to find all kinds of things to use in the hobby, and so much cheaper than the regular outlets :-)

here's a cool way to make your own real rust powder steel wool, White vinegar with a bit of bleach put it in a container with the Steal wool let it sit for several days drain onto coffee filter let dry. and there you go you have real rust powder . you apply as if you were using pigment or same technique as when locking soil down to your dioramas. It gives nice realistic texture and it's real rust for very cheap.. and you can tell everyone that you know how to make plastic rust. Hope you're able to try this technique and it works out for you 😁👍

Of course, the bottle of rust i use is, is from a company called dirty down, it is a water soluable paint effect which dries into a wonderful ultra matte finish. It isn't really often sold as a hobby product and is actually originally developed for film and tv for props etc. I cannot recommend this product enough. To further enhance the dry powdery look, some pigment powder or in my case crushed up chalks really help sell the effect. Hope that helps a little. Give me a shout if you get stuck

Thanks. I have invested in a Gimble mount for my camera. Model i use is a Ronin SC with a Sony 6500 and a sigma 30mm lens. Still getting to grips with it all but always trying to make it better every time. The quest continues

Have you got a link to the company that supplied the Fort? I can't seem to get my phone to open up the *more* section of your description.

Hey, unfortunately the company who made them has gone bust. I know covid hit them hard and they were trying to rebrand under a new name but I don't think that ever happened. Real shame because their products were great and a really nice affordable alternative to 3d printing

Tell Tommy to get a pressure pot for when he casts his resin, so that he doesn't have bubbles ruining the detail like that

@@creativecuts7803 it's ok, that was a little aggressive, my bad. I really love your work and relaxed commentary, but once I noticed it I couldn't ignore it.
I haven't done any modelling for years now so RUclips is the only way I can get my fix. I find your channel to be the best by far. Not only are you're finished works unmatched in detail and realism, the calm, clear commentary makes me see you as the Bob Ross of the miniature world 😆 I'll definitely keep watching, I just won't be using my headphones 😉
