@@rink653yeah but this approach is wrong too. It's about support, not making someone think that you don't believe in them. Quality support means holding them to account and not giving them false premise, while making them feel empowered and confident in a trustworthy approach.
while in the gym yesterday on the stair master nearly close to quitting, the fit girl in front of me on the treadmill had a tattoo on her center of her back that read "no rain, no flowers". That was motivation for real, i'll never forget it
"You're not gonna achieve your goals by squeezing them into the cracks of your schedule. They need to be front and center not an afterthought." resonates strongly with me. I've been neglecting my goals, and it's taking a toll. I feel a sense of stagnation and a lack of progress due to insufficient learning and achievement.
“Short term sacrifices for long term success” is the best advice I’ve ever heard. I can proudly say I’m not watching this video because I needed it, but because it just reaffirms I’m doing the right things. I ended 2024 like a fucking boss and I’m going into 2025 with the same energy. Yesterday I was 3 months sober after abusing alcohol for 8 years straight, I released music, I created a poetry page, and I’m working TIRELESSLY on more music. 12 songs done for a 15 song album with some of my most creative work to date. Social life? Practically none existent. The grind will consume you and yes, you do deserve to relax. Don’t inflate that deservedness. Just cause you’re tired doesn’t mean you earned it. Work harder, truth is no gives a shit that you’re tired, so make them give a shit about your success. Work so hard that no one recognizes who you are. Do it for you. You deserve it. We got this. 🤘🏻🖤
The best advice I can give you is set seasons for these things. For example if summer is your favorite time of year then any season out of the summer grind so hard during other seasons so you may be able to make memories like no other and ofc every now and then in your off season just take minimal self care days even if it’s once a month or every 2 months to breathe and do something that is fun and definitely find a hobby in between your grind seasons that makes you happy so you are able to still be present and not grind yourself to death. You got this
Perfectionism and fear of failure kept me from doing the necessary things on time, but when I was forced to do those necessary things it felt like it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I realised that I had the desire to control all the variables around me, but ironically these variables controlled me instead.
Can't speak for the guy but what worked for me personally were these 4 points: 1. Being comfortable knowing that maybe you won't achieve what you want to OR things won't go as expected and that's okay. 2. Setting clear but realistic goals 3. Not chasing perfection but instead doing better than what you did last time forexample: If i studied for 30mins today I'll try studying for 45 mins tmrw, same could be applied to working out as well. 4. Believe in yourself, you have to be your biggest supporter. And trust that if things don't go your way, you'll have the strength to deal with it. Hope this helps!
A couple things I would like to add; for a healthy mindset is to not information overload and feel like you need to do everything at once. Take time to take a rest and reflect on your work or research, journal as well. And I have a phone rule for a 9-5 work schedule. Do not use your phone other than alarm or something useful until 12pm and then get off of it by 9pm, if you are going to bed by 11pm.

i would like to add a similar point he mentioned :- DONT TRY TO BE AN ALL ROUNDER , i cant begin to say how many things i have fucked up trying to be all rounder trust me no one is best at everything keep a priority list , most efficient people are not those who manage everything , they are the ones that manage RIGHT things . now i am sure you must be thinking of that one person who can seem to everything ......trust me even he has a priority list he is just good at doing side tasks.
I've come back to tons of videos like this, and I've come back to tons of comments like this. The thing I've never found answers for is, how do you pick? I don't have some big single flaw with my life. Sure I could be more fit, but I exercise and am not fat or otherwise unhealthy. Sure I'm single, but I really don't feel all that lonely and have some great friends. My grades are pretty great, honestly probably my strongest area. And whenever I seriously look at a new hobby, as soon as I start sitting down and making plans, I realize that I honestly don't care if I learn this, and when I visualize reaching my goal, I don't actually see myself as being particularly all that proud of it. Even in this video, at 4:15, there is just this overwhelming wall of "Stuff." How do you know what is you? How do you know what you want?

@plashplash-fg6hd no matter how small of a light you see at the end of the tunnel its still there. If you dont see a light at the end of a tunnel. Then you must be the light yourself, and you must lighting your own path to greatness. Every human is valuable. Always chase knowledge, no matter how small. If you want to even try it out. Do it. Why not right. Worst comes to worst you dont like it and you learned something valuable at the end. Its okay to feel alone at times. But the feeling of lonlieness it the real haunting thing. Keep your head up.

thank u xx This and Struthless' video about doing the wrong work really goes hand-in-hand for me. The vague goals thing is SO TRUE, I gotta have the guts to have specific goals. Failure is not something to fear, it can even be something to seek out.
the "ugly grind" part really resonated with me. expecting to feel great, or be praised for chasing your goals and what-not. and not feeling good or being uncomfortable always made me avoid trying to step into the direction of the goal. a quote from a book really set it into my mind that i didn't HAVE to feel good "It’s called the Rule of Thirds. When you’re chasing a big goal, you’re supposed to feel good a third of the time, okay a third of the time, and crappy a third of the time. If the ratio is off and you feel good all the time, then you’re not pushing yourself enough." - Bravey, Alexi Pappas

Yeah, I've been trying to squeeze my project into the cracks of my schedule, and I can tell you that doesn't work. I'm going to stop half-assing stuff, and I'll make this my year. Thanks for the video!!
Hey, awesome video. Here is what helped me lock in last few months of 2024: 1. I learned to prioritize peace over pleasing anyone 2. I started reading books on Mind-bloomery, and I took appropriate actions - this helped me clear mental fog and shift my focus on things that really matter 3. I stopped blaming others and took full responsibility for my life 4. I surrounded myself with winners and let go of people dragging me down with their negative mindset Now I am much more calm, and it's wild how clear mind makes everything shift for better instantly.
People always say you should get out more, you should be more social, etc., but the reality is that the world would be a much, much better place if people focused more on introspection. They would realize a lot of mistakes they never realized they were making before.
Just make sure you don't neglect the people you love in the process. I like the quote from Brian Dyson on balance "Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit - and you're keeping all of these in the air. Work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same."
I think this video reached me more than any other piece of advice or content I've seen before. I've always seen myself (perhaps narcissistically) as someone smarter than most other people which lead me to just think: surely just finishing uni or letting life carry on, will eventually feed me an opportunity, but I've always known that's not particularly how it works. I want to be more, I want to write a book, I want to learn to draw, I want to get in great shape, I want to learn a new language, I want to secure a good source of finance for my future. Unlike a lot of others in this comment section, I've not dealt with any addiction, any bullying, any real hardships, yet, I don't grasp the very lucky situation I am in, instead being straight lazy. I've never felt like I needed to work hard, only that it was recommended, always then falling short of what my potential is. I truly hope that one day I will come back to this video and see this comment, proud of my new achievements. I guess the wrong word is "hope" since I should believe it. Anywhos thank you my goat this video was a good wakeup call
This is a wonderful video, I'm a 16 year old with naive dreams for this year. The habits I picked up since new year is running and journaling. I wanna make the most out of my year. To the people who feel guilty about skipping some days of productivity, it's totally fine! Don't beat yourself up. It's okay to skip a day or two, even a week, just don't skip another year! Good luck
“The world isn’t going to fix itself for you” I really needed to hear that. There’s never going to be a “right time” to start something. The time will pass anyway, so I should start now.
I tend to think about doing things perfectly i always forget the most important thing which is to take action. Overthinking often made me waste many precious hours just to get into “perfect” condition which never happened. I’ll now tell my mind constantly about “action”. The harder it is to get going, the more rewarding the outcome.
Seriously thank you. I have been hours thinking of the right paths I need to take action on and how I want my life to progress. I have so many interests and you hit the nail on the head of dabbling. This year I am going to push hard as possible to carve a proper path all the while navigating through the struggles I've been dealt in life. We all are capable of great things. It just depends on if you're going to grab hold of it and take it all the way, or are you going to just shut down and stay stagnant.
Bro single handedly crafted the most influential video by telling me stuff I've already been realizing. You verbalizing what I've been trying to achieve lowkey made me feel like I can really lock in with music and learning and growth with it. Thanks brotha. I've been working on learning music fundamentals, working out, and more music because thats all I wanna do in the future. I got pretty consistent but slipped again from being consistent and now I am only putting in effort and not consistent effort like you said. Thanks for helping me realize this, trust next year I'll reply to this saying that I achieved my end goals of this year.
2025 is mine! I am working consistently towards my one and only goal, to become a business analyst. Already Building my portfolio, networking and more. Need to be consistent. Folks keep grinding!
This is honestly some of the best advice I’ve heard. I love how you’re so honest and get to the point, and I also really needed to hear this. I’ve always been one of those guys who says “next year will be my year” but I’ve never improved. I didn’t understand why until I watched this video. I feel like me and many others just don’t wanna put effort and are scared to, but once we really lock on we can and will do anything. So it’s about time we actually get out life’s together and just do it. Thanks for the wake up call man 🙏

@jacobwhenever we're just starting out. let the content and ideas flow and find your niche. sooner or later (betting on sooner) we'll gather attention and grow our communities. I believe in you brother
I fully agree with this sentiment. One challenge we face today is that the expectations we set for ourselves often surpass what we can realistically achieve within the time we allow. I can be productive-write my book, excel at work, create more music-but ultimately, satisfaction comes from within. It’s a tough battle, but learning to be content with our own achievements is an accomplishment in itself.
Today is my birthday. Since December I have been taking a break from running and my intense exercises. I had wanted to bulk because I had been at 8% body fat. I looked great and super muscular, but it wasn't healthy. So, I went on a bulk. I have gained 10 pounds, which is good, but I need to continue to work out and run. This video is a perfect slap in the face! Thank you. This next year I am going to apply this advice. I will come back to this comment and reply to it in about a year to see and tell you all how far this advice got me.

The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her
its difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation, my relationship of 12 years ended, but i couldnt just let him go i did all i could to get him back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual counselor who helped me bring him back
Yes 6 hrs left, add commuting to and back to work, go groceries, cooking, cleaning up, do Laundry, check some emails snd other life admin. You got 1 he left if you dont go to the gym
Realistic. This is why our society is falling apart there are people that underestimate the limitations. Great observation. Bu this video is still mostly correct.
assuming you live alone in the city, commuting takes 30 minutes and while you wait you can listen to a podcast/video talking about tips on reaching your goal. you should do groceries once a week rather than going there everyday.. which takes 30 minutes. for cooking, you can cook simpler dishes for awhile to focus on your goal, your not gonna die eating "cheap". cleaning up takes 30 minutes unless your a hoarder or live in a mansion. your not washing your clothes by hands right? otherwise, you might as well use a dial phone if you cant afford a washing machine. while you wait for clothes to wash/dry, do something. checking emails takes 20 minutes at best unless you work as a journalist or a writer, etc. for gym, just exercise at home for awhile. youll save money and get more free time. that is 3 hours 4 minutes (i divided 4 minutes a day for the grocery) taken out of the 6 hours. so you have 2 hours and 56 minutes of free time. okay, even if you want to cook recipes that take longer or still go to the gym, you probably have an hour left of free time, which is still something. i find it ironic tho that you make this comment seem like you dont have any free time to do anything other than what you listed, but here you are watching a 7 minute video, scrolling through the comments and making one yourself. that is already 10 minutes spent on doing "nothing". stop making excuses bro, gtfo the internet and work on your goal already.
@@nicholassmith9609 "realistic" yet your here spending probably 10 minutes scrolling through the comments and commenting. idk if you guys watched the whole video but you should watch 1:31, literally proved what the guy said is right lol.
This is the first video I have watched on here that actually feels like realistic advice. "You're not struggling because there's a lack of opportunities, you're struggling because you're not grabbing them."
I get stressed just listening to the introduction, pulse raises, anxiety rising. Makes me feel weak, but beleave it or not im actually making progress. Building things, working out, etc. Actually grinding. I know i can do more tough, stresses me the fuck out.
At the start of my school year, I put in all my effort to get the best grades. But come to midyear exams, after studying so hard, I got unsatisfactory grades (they were alright, but not what I was aiming for) After that, I've sort of fallen into a burnt out zone. I haven't been trying anymore, or I'm not seeing the point in trying since "I already wasn't good enough at my best." But this video was a great wake-up call that consistency is key. Im still gonna have to work hard for those top grades, and sitting around doing nothing isn't gonna help me get that. Thanks for making me realize that.
One important thing as well is that you need to understand that sacrifice is necessary, if you need to bring in new habits then some other bad habits gotta go, that also applies to people, things, etc.
100% about the scrolling and wondering where the time went. I have deactivated all but Facebook, Needed to keep into with family. One thing I would add, as part of the "Cleansing Process" and something you said, about following the right RUclips accounts, Ive started to "Unsubscribe" from "ooo that's a great channel lol" to the ones only showing topics I am trying to learn. Already gone from over 600 channels to 456, so still a way to go. The rest of the changes still require a long look in the mirror and a good talking to. Thank you for the video, I will watch it again to really take it in and make notes.
This biggest thing I did was go after goals without 100% confidence. I'd try to achieve things with 10-50% confidence but the goal was worthwhile in the end. Just tell yourself, "I'm going to do this" and lift off. Don't dwell on things too long because you can just as easily talk yourself out of things as you talk yourself into things.
I was doing great last year. I got into a great school, good job, got a gf everything was going good. This year however all of that disappeared. I find everything meaningless and dont even try anymore. Im stuck in this cycle
This video brought me to tears, my brother was killed 6 months ago and since then I've completely fallen off track of my fitness, work as a videographer, and learning new skills. Prior to my brother passing I had been locked in for 2 years and lost 150LBS 330LBS-180LBS and I want to get back to that grind so badly, this video was definitely a wake up call I don't know why this hit so much more than normal

I started working out this year and there are so many other things I want to explore. I sometimes feel it’s not enough but I’ve been consistent and preserving. I honestly cried watching this video, I feel even more confident that I can achieve what I want to achieve.
It's funny that I just started doing this these last 2 days, I canceled my trip with my sister in Japan, postponed my other trip to Japan with my friend, and took out the console, laptop, and other distractions that weren't helping me move towards the goal I want, now the only struggle is to make progress in time. It feels hard to breathe some certain times but I have to keep pushing so I can finally have what I want, control over how I want to live my life and don't listen to others.
I spent part of today writing a letter to my future self. I recorded where I'm at right now with life, and wrote down a bunch of metrics about myself as well (current weight, financial standing, university grades, etc.). I know success isn't measured purely in numbers, but it gives me clear-cut goals to work towards. I honestly recommend this to anybody who wants to reach a certain goal(s), and it also serves as a nice surprise down the line when you get to reopen said letter.
Another thing I see commonly and also relate with is people saying stuff like "Next year will be my year" and "Next month I will lock in". Why wait for next year? Why wait for next month. Lock tf in and start right now.

I'm proud of you stranger ❤
I don’t think you need to not have a social life

I constantly feel torn between grinding hard and enjoying my life. Deep down, I fear that I'm wasting my youth by not finding the right balance.
This is so real

You better preach ! I

What has helped you conquer this? Any perspective in particular? I resonate with this.
Can't speak for the guy but what worked for me personally were these 4 points:
1. Being comfortable knowing that maybe you won't achieve what you want to OR things won't go as expected and that's okay.
2. Setting clear but realistic goals

Even in this video, at 4:15, there is just this overwhelming wall of "Stuff."

Hey, awesome video. Here is what helped me lock in last few months of 2024:
1. I learned to prioritize peace over pleasing anyone
2. I started reading books on Mind-bloomery, and I took appropriate actions - this helped me clear mental fog and shift my focus on things that really matter
3. I stopped blaming others and took full responsibility for my life
4. I surrounded myself with winners and let go of people dragging me down with their negative mindset
Now I am much more calm, and it's wild how clear mind makes everything shift for better instantly.
Really good advices
Their books are treasure definitely
People always say you should get out more, you should be more social, etc., but the reality is that the world would be a much, much better place if people focused more on introspection. They would realize a lot of mistakes they never realized they were making before.
Love this man
Awesome books, thanks for recommending
Just make sure you don't neglect the people you love in the process. I like the quote from Brian Dyson on balance "Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit - and you're keeping all of these in the air. Work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same."
That is really hitting hard, in the last few days I've been trying to reflect on what's wrong, and this probably gave me the answer
hopefully!
Motivation is fleeting. Discipline is consistent.
On point!

Spot on! Small action is still action.

@bunidiot ok, but stay calm bro
@@StopDropandRoll17 i am calm lol, making long comments doesnt mean your angry. by that logic, every college student has anger issues.

I appreciate the kind words! Thanks for the support.
At the start of my school year, I put in all my effort to get the best grades. But come to midyear exams, after studying so hard, I got unsatisfactory grades (they were alright, but not what I was aiming for)
After that, I've sort of fallen into a burnt out zone. I haven't been trying anymore, or I'm not seeing the point in trying since "I already wasn't good enough at my best."
But this video was a great wake-up call that consistency is key. Im still gonna have to work hard for those top grades, and sitting around doing nothing isn't gonna help me get that. Thanks for making me realize that.
I got this. I am giving it my all. No second chances to life. Accept everything and make the most of it. Turn challenges into opportunities.

“Goals are what separate the people who achieve and the ones who talk about achieving”! Thanks for reality check!

Whenever I want motivation, Nah that's not correct. A reality check! Whenever I want that reminder, I come here watch your video. And starts locking in. Thank you! For being a support in my life especially in this exam times.

“New Year, New me”:❎
“New Year, Better me”:✅
I feel that I’m on the verge of a breakthrough in taking control of my life. I don’t know why. But I can feel it.
I found this video today, and damn, it's fucking 20th Jan, 9:45 PM rn, and I wanna change the zero me for fucking real, mark my words, it's never late to lock in, and i will crush it. See you after 4 months.
same, let's do this for real this time around!
Same bro im flipping with you i saw this video today 21st jan,6:35PM, i wanna change i wanna level up become stronger.,im locking in im with you brother
I'm waiting for the excuses in 4 months, prove me wrong bro 💪

Sleep ~6-8 hours
work - 8 hours
road to work and back - 2 hours, maybe more
Eating, taking shower, doing house chores - 2 hours
Workout (because you don't want to end up being ball of fat in ur 40s) - 1 hour
Now it's realistic 3 hours.
And you are emotionally fatigued from work and physically fatigued from your workout.
GOOD. LUCK.
so how much screen time do you have daily? not saying you have high one, i would just bet you do have time for better things than scrolling socials or playing video games.
@kadestenersen7982 my whole point was about not having energy for anything except brainless scrolling or gaming.
And i don't think my problem is in my will. I can easily make myself go do pull-ups in blizzard or heavy rain if my schedule demands them today. Even in hail once (but that was stupid, lmao).
Work location and its nature affects you a lot.
I was already consistently doing a much better job of managing my time and working developing better habits over the past few weeks, regardless if its a new year or not. With that being said, this video really solidified to me that I'm not only headed in the right direction but I'm gonna be damn sure that I continue in the right direction. Thanks man
my extreme anxiety of time passing has caused me to procrastinate planning my future, cause I linger in the past and wish for that time back. This has helped me a little even tho it was confrontational.. Thank you :)
Glad I could help in some way
Been a slow dry start for January .. Theres still time and I should get back ASAP . Well hopefully I would improve ..
a LOT of time
The way you spoke this and in the tone you did with dash of humor, is perfect.
Being a failed 25 year old i have something to share, please dont make kids if you havent fixed your own life first because they will be paying for your sins later on. Make sure to create the ideal conditions first. Secondly if you are 20 or bellow have more courage no matter your situation, the young of your age alone is a more valuable asset in the job market than you think, even if you dont have a degree, save up 6-7k and make a bold opening or you will end up like me a depressed blue collar worker.
What do you mean save 6-7k and make a bold opening? Any other tips??
As someone that has been working out and balancing taking engineering in college this is was a very insightful video. The time part especially being true when I have a hard time in math then realize I spent 4 hrs on Instagram reels. Thank you boss, I needed this.
Wow, this is actually, well fck I gotta get my life together ur right I’ve just been mindlessly doom scrolling wasting my lifespan doing nothing and still saying “yeah but I just don’t have time” ima try to get my life in order and start to take my future more seriously.. thanks man fr tho ur like the inner voice I’ve been pushing down this entire time
4:04 M-m-MASSIVE?

Locked In. Wish me Luck . Coming here next year and will say it loud 2025 was my year
Goodluck!
This is almost all information I knew, but hearing it articulated in this way in this monotone voice just hits. I have so many goals it’s overwhelming and seems hopeless but now maybe I can just start again. Tomorrow I hope to start again no promises
This is for accountability; I have my goals but sometimes sharing provides the motivation to succeed. For my 2025, its Quantum, fitness and career, I will update this monthly.
I loved the way he captures the attention with trendy ways to make sure we understand and assimilate the point.
And then there is the jjk reference that made me subscribe straight away.
makes it fun for me too ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶
@someunfilteredguy bet. I'll update you with my life update. Every month this year under your videos.
Ive been doing all this since I was young. Now Im living life on easy mode thanks to a good job and buying my own place. I just fill my days outside of work with exercise, friends, family, motorcycles, and mtn biking with friends. Life is enjoyable now. Put in the work early in life, and life will reward you with an easy existence in your late 30s and onward.
