Do you plan on doing a Bataleon binding review this year? I’m thinking about the Bataleon Atoms or the Rome Cleavers for my BSOD but there isn’t much info out there for the Atoms.
I didn't get a binding from Bataleon last season so nothing will be posted any time soon. Hoping to get on some this season but I'm pretty backlogged with reviews I need to publish so it won't be any time soon.
How would you compare this to the Bataleon Atom? For steep and deep style riding with a Dart 164 Plus, which would you recommend?
Haven't ridden the Atom so can't say. Sorry.
@@thegoodridesnow, understood, thanks for the reply!
when you tested this did you set it up 2x4 or 4x4? disc feels a little too playful in 2x4 to me did you feel that?
Both. It depended on the board. Softer to mid flexing boards felt pretty playful. When i was in a playful buttering mood it felt great
So setting up the bindings the minidisc way there's no risk of extra stress on the inserts?
There is a little more stress but not enough for most riders to worry. Some Pro's who are very hard on their equipment have ripped out inserts on occasion going super big off jumps but but most average riders will never stress their inserts even in a way that will shorten the life expectancy of your board. If it does worry you set them up full size and forgo stance width adjustability or get a different brand that offers full size discs.
@@thegoodridesnow Thanks! Good to know. Not a lot of information about this any where else.
Would you say the cleavers are more damp than the katana? It looks like the base is almost the same
No. They use the same closed cell foam in the base plate and feel exactly the same underfoot in terms of dampness/shock absorption. They are more responsive though.
Not much of a fan of the toe and ankle strap (I felt like my feet was suffocating even on my ions) so got some burton dt ankle and toe straps (I also drilled larger holes on the ankle and toe tongues/sliders for compatibility). ALOT more comfortable (felt very secure still but not suffocating).
Thanks for your take and nice tweak.
Are the footbeds canted
yep
