  • "First impression riding these: extremely surfy. There's a lot of forgiveness on the outside here and then driving through turns with the high, high backs. You get a lot more board feel and control driving through your turns. These quick ratchets are unreal. The tweaks you get from this chassis not being here allow a lot of crazy angles. The soft dampening pads on this, at first, I thought they were fairly thick, but it allows you to have that board feel and really helps you drive through everything. The rider that's really gonna enjoy these bindings is anyone that rips the mountain, loves ripping off cliffs and anyone that rides, jumps. These bindings charge through the whole mountain. The entire mountain is your playground. If you're an advanced rider looking for a high-performance binding, this is the binding for you." -Cam

I just bought a pair! I haven’t tried them out yet but the way you described it is right up my alley!

I’m want a set of Katana this year, to compliment my Now Select pro on my second deck. A different design for a different feel I guess.

I have the DODs. I think the thing to look at is if you want the full or ASYM wrap

I love my katana! Just the forward lean that for me is hard to choosez always feel 2 is too much and 1 is too little. Hiw much you used?

I would love for you to detail how you think about the word "surfy". When I hear the word I think of it as being "washy" and not wanting to hold an edge in a carve. But I feel like it's generally used to mean something a bit different. Can you explain how you think of that term in more detail?

Great question! For us at Rome, we use surfy as an adjective for a bit more play than a traditional binding. It allows for more tweak and flex between the boot and binding interface but doesnt sacrifice anything as far as edge hold goes thanks to the medial side of the binding still having that forged aluminum heel heel. Tweak-able is perhaps a better synonym in this instance....

I am 225 lbs and a foot size of 255 mondopoint. I need a pair for a yes dicey 20-21 board. I am a beginner-intermediate level. What would you recommend to pair with my board ir order to help me to progress and not fatigue my legs. I am lookint to katana, vice or 390 boss. At this moment i hit only the resots slopes.
