Currently a 17 year old and I bought my 2004 nissan last year for $900 (was listed for $1,600, but always try to negotiate.) still runs good and doesn’t look too bad. My grandfather is an automotive technician and works on it for free if anything comes up, not a bad deal imo.

I have a 1996 Nissan Altima GXE Special Edition that I recently bought for $1500. One owner Florida car. It was my 84 year old great aunt's car. Sadly she past away and her son (which is my cousin) sold it to me. I didnt mind paying him $1500 for it because it is in like new condition. And, I am very familiar with the car. Seeing her drive it Georgia sometimes when she visits. It has been in the family since new. Very clean, never wrecked. All the factory coating underneath and on the engine is still there. Sticker tags on wires and lines still present. It has 103k miles on it. Its green with beige leather and sunroof. Tinted windows. My cousin had it fully serviced at a local Jacksonville Nissan dealership prior to selling it to me. I drove that car back to Atlanta, GA without issues. I drive it daily to work and it still is reliable.

I am using it since 2013 and now it's goes over 200k without any problems
The think you need to do is to keep changing the transmission fluid along with it's filters every 80k at most and it's better to make it every 60k and making sure that you put the genuine oil not some random markets
    And that's all
And don't use it for racing every day it's not a racing car it's daily basis car

I drive my baby atleast 1,000 miles a week or more no problems 😊. Averaged 38mpg on the highway, great car! Just traded for a new 2022 Rogue, with yes, the 1.5L turbo. I know, new engine, blah, blah, blah. I currently own a 2012 Nissan Altima, had it for almost a year, and I had no issues other than the axle boot leak on the passenger side (gotten that fixed a month ago) my last CVT fluid change was 2 months ago, so I'm good for another 30 to 60K, I heard rumors of people's CVT failing in the past, so that's why I'm taking real good care of mine, I'm already over 109K so I'm good, it really depends on how you take care of yours!

I'm at 254000 km on my 2013 Altima 3.5(6 cylinders). Since my transmission failure at 30000 km, changed on guaranteed(no cost), he's running like a charm. My 6 cylinders doesn't loose any oil between oil change. Lately, i've change my left interior handle door. Did it my self, 20$ handle cost and easy job. If it's the worst altima year, i must have been lucky.
Lucky, on the other hand, that my transmission failure, at 30000 km, was under guaranteed.
Since the next car i'm looking at, a lexus e350, a used one, cost around 40000$, i'll keep my 2013 altima til it dies. I've no worry my 6 cylinder engine, it will runeasely till 400000 km.
The acilles heel maybe the cvt transmission, but right now, at 254000 it's running great.

The dealer covered both the nav/radio and airbag. I currently have 143K on mine, still looks good and runs good. I will say that I've serviced my transmission at most all of the scheduled intervals, that's the key with the CVT. My 1st Brand New Car was a 2015 Altima S that was Rebadged as an “SL” & Added Leather by The Dealership so They could charge more. The Dealership Ended Up Having A Huge Lawsuit about it so I ended getting The Altima Paid Off After Only 5 Months of Ownership & I Traded it right back for a Red Pre Owned 2012 Toyota Camry SE-V6 & Got $1,500 Back from The Altima lol. Then 2 Years later I got T-Boned.. I was hurt but I ended up buying A 2017 Nissan Altima SL-V6 & Loved It! Had a year and gave to My Little Brother For Graduation now I Drive A 2018 Ford Fusion Platinum 2.0EB.. Now I’m looking for My Next Sedan!👌🏽😅

I had a 2008 Altima 2.5S that didn’t die until 336k miles. The trashing on Altimas is completely unjustified.

We have a 14 Altima with 55k on it. I am having my fluid changed here soon at 60k. I am hoping for the best. No issues yet other than needing new brake rotors I did that myself. It’s a great car and we love it.

Love my black 2018. Transmission has been working fine and one thing good about CVT’s is smooth acceleration and MPG. Hope I don’t jinx myself!

If you want to go fast every single time this is not your car
Engine and transmission are great 👍
It's just the driver, cvt transmission don't down shift as quick as a solenoid and clutch transmission so so will burn the cvt transmission. Or it will just not last you
    ALWAYS USE THE RIGHT FLUIDS

I have a 2014 Altima SL. I bought it in Jan 2021 with 90k miles. Still driving okay. As of right now in 2023, I have 111k miles on it. I had the transmission fluid flushed and refilled around 100k miles. And of course regular oil changes at the Nissan dealership. It’s never gave me any problems. Although they aren’t the fastest cars and initial acceleration can be very slow at times, and when braking it jerks and shakes at times, I have no complaints. The car is paid off. So I plan on keeping for a while then I’ll eventually get me a Lexus Ls500. 😊

I just bought a 2015 Nissan Altima took it into Nissan at 70,000 miles and it needed a new transmission thing God it was still under warranty if I had known that this car had transmission problems I would have never bought a Nissan Altima if I had any knowledge of the transmission issues in Nissan I would have never bought it I would not buy another Altima

And if I am not mistaken yours was the last year for the 3.5 they stopped making the 6 cylinder and only now produce the 4 cylinder with the highest output being the Turbo edition. I guess they realised why buy a maximum when you can get a fully loaded altima for quite a few $1000 less. 🤷‍♂️

    Just a bulshitt ...
Car requires Maintenance on time and proper Care.
    I am having 2013 3.5 SL.
It's been 9 Years I am driving It.. still original Transmission
    Original A.C. compressor
    Original Radiator and Condenser...
I never change any bushings or and parts... except Headlight Bulbs...
My car is running now on 345K KM ..
Still runs smooth .. all I do is I put 10K KM engine oil castrol 5w 30 in winter and in summer 5w 40 and I change oil on 8K KM...
I do CVT service after 45K KM.
    Spark plugs after 35K KM
    Cabin filter after 4 Months.
I Do steam wash after 2 months..
The car is neat and clean from beneath .. zero rust...
Still my car run so smooth on highways and no noise at all.
