Do you have difficulty being a decent human? It's common knowledge that people learn better/easier in different ways. Some by reading, some by doing, some by watching or a combination of those. JP's Silent Captured system is an awesome development. I would think it would be even better with a flat spring, instead of a round spring. But that's why they're making the products and the money that goes with them, and I'm watching their videos! It's great that they produce this video for their product.
I really love this product. It puts the BCG into battery perfectly and reliably every time! So far I have 3 of these. One on both of the SBRs and one on the LRT 308. I needed to swap the spring on the 308, as it locked up the action after each round, but after that it worked flawlessly.
I have a custom setup using this AND the Black Rifle Arms BCG with their buffer tech. I had to mod the buffer on the BCG to accept the rod od the spring system but it was worth itm the action is ridiculously smooth!
@@atranimecs I ended up having to ditch them all. The captured spring in the sbr wouldn't allow reliable feeding regardless of the spring combo. I went back to an enhanced buffer spring and h2 buffer and have been happier since.
@@HO123virus Kinda confusing, you sing it praises in your first comment then add a comment saying you had problems in the SBR? I know people run these in SBR setups so I am curious about your troubleshooting process. Additionally you claim that you had one in a 308 build.

Does the buffer retainer plug interfere with it's operation? Because I'd rather leave it in! Just bought one, arrived the other day. Going to install it soon.
A standard buffer retainer plunger is really inconvenient when you're installing or removing the SCS as it catches easily. We came out with a different design the alleviates that problem, which is on our website: www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPSCS-BRP
@@JPRifles I installed it and left the retaining plug in. You're right, it was slightly difficult. But I just used a stiff knife blade to push down on it, and got the spring capture system in behind it. Seems like a perfect fit.

Will there be any operating issues if you leave the buffer and spring on I’ve seen a few videos where people leave it on? Just curious if anyone has come across this As JP suggests removal of said items Thanks y’all!
Late reply, but it they have a flow chart up on their website now. If you're going to run a 300blk suppressed, they recommend the equivalent of an H2 buffer weight, which would be one stainless weight and two tungsten weights. But of course, fine tuning for your specific application may be required and such.
Unique to individual setup. If you want to tweak as much as possible you can buy a variable spring kit + install an adjustable gas block. If money is of no concern you can get their variable sized weights as well. general guidelines: h/h1 = mid length h2 = carbine h3 = pistol Higher spring rate/tension and/or more buffee weight as the gas length is shortened. (H2 is a good start for gas piston systems).
my new jp capture sping is stuck partially by the buffer retaining bin. any advice on how to remove it now. I've seen videos of the jps going in easly with the pin in place but mine is stuck at the last gap at the front.
Only certain buffer tubes will require a shim (which is now included with the SCS). You shouldn't need to modify the spacer unless you have an oddball buffer tube.
@@JPRifles well I appreciate the reply JP. Still a little steep of a price. If you guys could figure out how to bring the price point down you’ed sell a ton of those.
Might I respectfully suggest you change the verbiage of both your video and instruction sheet from "we recommend removing the buffer retainer and plunger before proceeding" to "you must remove the buffer retainer and plunger before proceeding." Once you get the Silent Capture Spring installed, nothing short of a miracle will allow you to get it out again without potentially damaging the assembly and/or the rubber O-rings as long as that plunger is sticking up! However, if the annoying "boooinnng" after each shot is gone, it will have all been worth it!
Not only is the SCS quieter but it also removes drag from the buffer system. You also have a wide range of adjustability with overall buffer mass as well as spring weights so you can tune the system to your rifle and the ammo you are running to get the best possible function and reliability.

Has anyone out there changed out the spring on their JPSCS for a lighter spring on a Sig 516? Mine won't lock back on the last round, and I am getting some light strikes that don't go off while shooting, but I can see where the firing pen hit the primer. If so, what color spring did you go with?
They sell the pack of diff tension springs that are color coded. You’d need to test each with your particular setup. But deductive reasoning should help in which direction to go.
I have a simple question. Why do you suggest taking out the buffer retainer, plunger and plunger spring? Just because the JP silent capture spring doesn't need it, it makes no sense to immediately remove it, as it harms nothing leaving it in, weighs less than a dime. I'm a retired US Army soldier, but for people doing DIY upgrades with no experience, for non ground up rifle builds, telling them to remove it on the onset of putting the JP system in, may not be wise, because if they have function issues with this JP system and their buffer plunger spring flies away in taking it out, the rifle is a paperweight, until they find the spring or buy a new one. Once JP's system functions perfectly, IMHO, that would be the time to remove the buffer retainer and plunger spring. My 1st experience with the JP system I had one rifle that wouldn't lock back. Was a simple fix, but for noobs it might not be so simple.
