    Everyone is complaining about the difficulty of the topic, but this video is the best supplemental source of information available...watching this video, in addition to a careful reading of the documentation JP provides on the website, does appear to answer all the questions most people have.
    If I understand JP correctly with regard to selecting the proper buffer/spring combo:
    - If the priority for a rifle is reliability, then increasing the buffer weight is the best initial approach. JP provides a flowchart to assist with this.
    - If the priority for a rifle is recoil mitigation (in order facilitate the quickest recovery of the sights onto the target), then using a heavier spring with a lighter buffer weight might be the best initial approach. Sprinco claims to have empirical data to support this approach as well (they are a company that makes excellent springs...which could imply a bias...but JP SEEMS to substantiate this claim).
    All choices have tradeoffs. It seems that the tradeoff for a lighter buffer mass would be a greater chance of the rifle failing to go into battery, and the tradeoff for a heavier buffer mass is increased recoil impulse (delaying sight recovery onto the target).
    Based on the information available from JP and Sprinco, it seems that most rifle tinkerers need to understand the following (with various exceptions relating to poor rifle design/construction and weak magazine springs):
    - If your rifle 1) reliably strips each round from the magazine, 2) the brass consistently ejects at 4 o'clock, 3) AND the bolt always locks back on the final round of a magazine, then your gun is gassed properly for that ammo. There's no need to modify it from there. In that case, you MAY want to get the JP SCS version of whatever you have in your gun if you really just can't stand the sound of the action spring during the cycling of your rifle.
    - If you're going to be running a broad range of ammo types, then you want to make sure your rifle has the appropriate buffer/spring combo, in order to meet all 3 of the above criteria for the weakest powered ammo you are running. This means that it will be overgassed for some ammo, but it will always cycle with even the weakest ammo you use.

    Update:. So I installed a tungsten weight on my SCS in my cloned LRP-07 that was unlocking prematurely running the VMOS BCG with SCS, 6.5CM 22in. Supermatch barrel, JP AGB, etc..
    Completely fixed bolt opening prematurely and brass is coming out very clean now! Rifle is consistently locking back on last round and cycling great!

    I know the company says to use the H2 weight buffer for a suppressed SBR but I found that the bolt catch wouldn't lock back on an empty mag, even with a wide open adjustable gas block. I suggest buying the least expensive SCS as it may work just as it should and you aren't paying extra for some tungsten weights that may not be needed. I wish I did that. 😑

    good to know my intuition was right on. running a 2a palouse lite rifle with an icrw G3 low mass steel bolt. ordered the scs2-15 with a spring pack for further tuning. also using a superlative arms adjustable gas block. after my modifications, the rifle will be sitting at around 4.3 lbs down from the stock 5.3 lbs. With a scalarworks mount and aimpoint t2, it'll be at 4.7 ish lbs, with a huxwrx 762ti, it'll be back to stock weight of around 5.3 lbs (and i have an h2 captured spring in my PWS, but i don't think it'll need it because of the flowthrough nature of the suppressor).
    Dollar for dollar lighter than a vseven while maintaining a forged receiver set, sitting just above 5 lbs with a dot and suppressor.

    • @JTheraos
      @JTheraos 11 месяцев назад

      It factually cannot make as much noise as a buffer/spring combo. The sprint is bent up and scraping all the walls of the buffer tube at all times. With this system, that no longer happens. It will rub a bit on the capture rod but not nearly as much as rubbing the buffer tube.

  • @illestdomer2005
    @illestdomer2005 Месяц назад

    Love the video but still big opportunities for more detail here. I have 3 JP SCS, and 2 of them are in the 300blk suppressed SBR and pistol. The SBR has a Law Folder on it, and the piece that adds the extension is right at 1oz; so, it is bumping you up a full buffer weight. So if you have JPSCS-15 and throw the Law extension on, you now effectively have an H1.
    With 300blk, you are gas poor a lot of the time with subs; so, I would love to see 1) even lower powered springs and 2) more advice on how to tune with low backpressure cans like CAT, PTR, Hux, etc. 300blk is pretty much confined to pistol length gas (some micro out there); so, recommendations based on can and dwell time for barrel length with a specific 300blk spring kit would be amazing.
    I’m not saying the only value to the SCS is the reduction/elimination of “sproing,” but that is a big reason to consider the SCS over significantly less expensive and interchangeable traditional buffers and springs. Solving for that part of an ever-growing market of suppressed 300blk short barrels seems to make a lot of sense.

    Ammo used in this was Hornady Black 208 grain A-Max (Subsonic) & It's a Custom Built AR Pistol I built from top to bottom.
    My issue is I got one of these for my 10'' 300 blk out, in H2 weight config. My plan is to suppress it at some point. HOWEVER, if you dont supress it with the H2 config (2 titanium, 1 steel) EVEN with a adjustable gas block. I could get it to extract the shell casing but not rack another round without having to manually do so.
    I'm guessing this is a spring issue as in spring weight is to heavy? OR is it i can use the spring that came with it and i need to use 3 steel weights so its standard until i suppress?
    Very frustrating day at the range.
    AFTER watching more of this video I'm seeing its a weight issue....thank god I ordered the SS Weights yesterday and I'll be changing those out to run subs even though at this time I'm not running it suppressed just yet. I also already have the spring set cause i bought it with the scs when i got it. So I'll start with the SCS Weight change to 3 Stainless to try and get the bolt to rack another round and achieve lock back (without manually locking bolt to the rear). If need be like you said do a 95% weight spring and go from there. THANKS!!!!! Helps out a lot!

    I just ordered a JPSCS2-10H2 and spring kit for an 8.6 Blackout carbine build (16" barrel). I used a Geissele Super 42 spring and H2 buffer. I didn't install an adjustable gas block. I have one so if necessary I can change out the gas block. It ejects but dents the case mouth, the case lands at about the 1 to 2 o'clock position, and the bolt doesn't lock back on the last round. I weighed the buffer and it weighs 4.3 oz. My form 4 for a Dead Air Primal is at least 6 - 7 months out based on current status info. I plan to shoot this suppressed all of the time but shooting the Gorilla Ammunition supersonic loads, or my reloads, aren't off the table. The info on your site says the weight is 6.6 oz. Is that assembly weight or buffer weight? I'm looking forward to trying your system.

    I was thinking about getting one of these SCS systems. Im running 16" 223/556 Carbine Gas System with Springco Blue & Spikes T2 Buffer (4oz). Right now it ejects at about 3oclock and as long as im not running TulaAmmo it doesnt have any feeding issues. What size SCS do you guys recommend H or H2?

    Thanks for a very helpful video. What temperature to heat the allen head screw to melt the loctite?

    • @chadh3441
      @chadh3441 5 месяцев назад

      Go to Loctite's website or Google it. Since there are several varieties of Loctite, each one has its own procedure for removal. Example; Blue doesn't need any heat to remove it and is considered temporary. Red does need a certain amount of heat in order to remove screw/pin/etc.., and is considered permanent. There are other colors that represent different attributes according to environment they are used in. Example; high heat/damp/water exposure/etc.. I would start with the Red Loctite removal temperature and go from there. You can pick up a marker style pen that's called a "Temperature Stick". They are found at welding supply stores, (maybe hardware stores too), that will only melt at set temperatures, whicheavea a mark on the item once it reaches that markers set temperature. If you get a 200 degree marker, it will begin melting/marking the item once it reaches 200 degrees. They are very cheap in case you don't have a infrared thermometer or other devices to check temperature readings. I would recommend getting another temp marker that's 50 or 100 degrees less than the set temperature you need. This is just so you can have an indication of when you are getting close to your set temperature, preventing you from overheating the item any more than necessary. Sorry it turned into a book, lol, but it may help others. Temperature Markers are basically unknown to the mass majority. Cheers

    Is there an option so if I'd like to swap from suppressed to non suppressed without having to switch the buffer or have another one of these on standby? Honestly not the biggest fan of the old fashioned flexing all over the place buffer springs and like how this system is a solid piece that isn't going to flop around if anyone has any idea what would work best honestly I don't care about recoil or anything like that regardless of recoil or anything else I just man handle the shit out of my rifle to the point the end of my shit ain't gonna move regardless if I'm shooting .22 all the way up to 308win. Like I said I just want all of my equipment to be solid and not warping everywhere and the way this one looks honestly looks solid enough I could cut an area out for it in my rifle case to set it in there if I need to buy 2 I guess I can have 2 different cut out sections and find a way to label which is which.

    What spring power to go with on the jpscs?
    My friend has a adams arms non adjustable mid length piston AR in 14.5” with adams lightweight carrier that reduces the bcg weight by 2 ounces compared to a milspec bcg. Should they just use the ejection pattern chart to make a proper buffer weight and spring combination? He is looking to reduce recoil and is wondering if paired with the lightweight bcg if you go with h2 buffer with standard spring or go lighter buffer weight and/or lighter buffer spring as well. Any input is greatly appreciated! I’m thinking h2 with the 80 or 85 spring due to the lightweight bolt carrier?

    • @JPRifles

      It eliminates all the extra friction of the standard buffer spring scraping along the inside of the tube. So, shooting with it is smoother and less noisy. It's also reconfigurable and tunable so you can dial in the buffer system for your particular rifle as well as tweak the cyclic rate to what you like.

      What do you recommend for a Ballistic Adavantage 14.7 inch barrel on a rifle geared tword duty use, with Federal 55 grain Tactial bonded? Don't care about the noise. A soft shooting gun would be nice, but it's secondary to reliability. I'm assuming the barrel isn't short enough to qualify as an SBR.

    My bcg cycles, ejects and locks back flawlessly but when I rapid fire it I can only get 5 or maybe 6 rounds off rapidly before it pauses. The bcg is forward, round is chambered but I get to 5 or 6 fast trigger pulls and the next fast trigger pull nothing happens but then the very next fast trigger pull it fires. It’s like it skips a trigger pull ever 5 shots approximately. Normal shooting it fires the entire magazine flawlessly. What is causing this to happen?
    It’s an LWRCI 300 black out shooting 110 grain with the stock H2 buffer and spring. I’m firing as fast as I can pull the trigger when this happens. It’s a new AR so if anyone knows please tell me what I can do differently, thank you.

    Why can’t you guys just do a video showing these systems NOT explaining it because explaining it isn’t helping. I’m the type of guy that needs to see it….. also you seriously need to start with the LF rifles. You say ultimately its the users parameters I guess maybe this system was a bit to advance for me. I own the SCS and the JP BCG to for my 308 AR but I just don’t know enough about it to trust it enough. Also is it normal for a 500+ dollar BCG to have the finished come off after the first cleaning????? Because I swear I have a brand new JP BCG with 5 rounds on it I still have all the original packaging and the DLC finished came of the dam thing wth is that???? Actually I think I’m going to do a video about this issue myself.
