    I've ran the JP Enterprises Silent Captured Spring Recoil System (Gen. 2) since 2016 on my direct impingement BCM Recce 16" KMR Fluted Enhanced Lightweight AR-15. I absolutely love it. 5 of 5 stars. Perfect upgrade, the SCS is superb, no marketing hype because I'm not a legit sponsor. No regrets whatsoever! Pure awesome.

    Thank you guys for making this video. I have purchased one of these for my CMP Service Rifle build, and I plan to use mass and springs to tune it to operate reliably with a low mass carrier. Instructional videos like this are priceless for this kind of new tech.
    I am getting into CMP Service Rifle because of a recent diagnosis of what amounts to fairly crippling osteoarthritis, and of all places, it's at its worst in my shooting shoulder. So basically I had to switch to shooting ARs because of the already light recoil of the 5.56, (used to be a big bore guy; may have something to do with the shoulder problem, lol) but even in that platform I need to reduce the recoil impulse as much as I possibly can. Since internal modifications are allowed within the rules, but adjustable gas blocks are not, this recoil system is going to be my new best friend, and I plan to learn to tune it to within an inch of its life.

    If you had an actual rifle-length silent captured spring, not just a carbine-length with a spacer, I would consider it. The rifle-length buffer system dramatically improves the recoil characteristics of the firearm by spreading the bolt deceleration over a longer distance. As it is, I just use your rifle-length silent spring with a normal buffer.

    Great information guys!👍👍 Ive been running these SCS’s in all of my AR platform rifles (AR15’s and AR10’s in 223/556, 6.5 grendel, 308 win) for many years. Yes, they’re pricey, but they are definitely worth it! Whenever I’m putting together a new rifle, I always make sure to budget $ for a SCS... an essential component that is mandatory for all my AR’s!

    I'd appreciate a video that's a deep dive into tuning. I watched the vid JP did a while back on Gas vs. Mass Regulation, and it's great. But let's also toss in spring weight. Personally both my rifles a large frame and small have the full tuning options, the SCS with springs, a VMOS carrier, some extra weights, and an adjustable gas block. I can and am of course experimenting but it'd be great to get some tips and maybe things I haven't thought of.

    Wow, these two guys are scaring some people away from this terrific up grade. If anyone out there has a regular colt m-4 or almost any regular AR-15, you don't need to go through all this running to get the benefit, unless that's what you want to do. I put the captured spring in my Colt M-4, did nothing else, and it ran fine. Like these guys are saying, once you shoot without that TWANG!!!
    of that loose spring in the stock, right next to your ear, with your plastic hearing protection driving that sound into your head, you lose that and it's quiet and solid feeling, it's like shooting a brand new gun. It's the best upgrade you can do for the money, maybe the trigger is right there too, if you get the JP trigger. I won't own an AR without a captured spring in it, no way. BTW, JP is the man, I just love every detail he thinks of, more so than any other brand of upgrades, some day I want a whole rifle that is his design. That will be my dream gun.

    do the weights have a moving part? because the standard AR15 buffers have an internal reciprocating weight to aid in reducing bold bounce by producing a "dead blow" effect. If these are just solid metal weights they can't provide a dead blow effect.

    • @JPRifles

      Yes, the weights do have some room for travel on the slide and are interspaced by rubber o-rings. So, the deadblow effect is significant, especially with tungsten weights.

      @JPRifles  5 лет назад +2

      If you are currently running a standard 5.2oz rifle length buffer and you are satisfied with how the rifle runs both suppressed and unsuppressed, you may want to opt for a JPSCS2-15H3 which will need to be ordered over the phone through JP. The alternate option to achieve H3 mass is to purchase a JPSCS2-15H2 and also an additional JPSCS2-HM-2 tungsten buffer mass to swap onto it.
      The best result would come from having an adjustable gas block in combination with the H2 or H3 Silent Captured Spring System. This would give you the greatest ability to tune the rifle correctly to go back-and-forth between suppressed and unsuppressed use.

Adjustable gas blocks is the route I went with all of my ARs and it has worked for me using a long hex wrench. Instead of trying a bunch of different buffers and springs to find what works best for my rifles. And plus I don’t have a bunch of extra useless/unneeded buffers and springs laying around when I was finished due to not experimenting with them.

Buffer on my 7.5 inch barrel spikes tactical build and works like a charm, remember that the 300 blackout produces less chamber pressure than the 223/5.56 so you actually need a lighter buffer spring and buffer to cycle effectively in the pistol length system, go buy your self at “Nemo arms” website the 300 blackout spring for around $15 and save yourself al the hassle and extra spending, by the way it works well with supersonic as well as subsonic ammo without a suppressor!
