I've always wanted a pair of realistic gargoyle wings, that I could strap to my back and truly be Batty! So seeing a gargoyle in your video only made me want this even more! 😆 I'm going to try to get to Transworld next year! 🤪 🖤🦇
If you guys do start doing animatronics, got an idea for you. Weeping Angel on a rotating base. Put a motion sensor in it with a 3 second delay. People walk past it, it slowly rotates towards them. If it's an animatronic, have it pull its arms down from its face as it rotates. They walk past it on the way out and the senor triggers again to put it back to default for the next group.
Thanks for watching! There are some other creators who did even longer Transworld walkthroughs if you want to see more stuff from the show. Stay Wicked! 🤘💀
Thanks so much for coming by the Distortions booth Wicked Makers, we enjoyed the conversations. Great job on this Best of Transworld videos! Looks like you had a wonderful time and wishing you all the best on your upcoming projects and video. Hello from all of us at Distortions.
Oh man, I loved watching this. I got so inspired just seeing it- and now I kind of want to make my own mask! I do want to point out that the werewolf puppet is a rig that's been functional over the years at many top-tier Halloween attractions, such as Halloween Horror Nights. I'm so happy it got a spotlight here, it's such an awesome scare!
i'm 54 and the halloween paraphenelia they have available now is just unbelievable. even the cheapo props at rite aid are far beyond what was available when i was a kid.
Even more kitschy shops like At Home, TJMaxx and Homegoods have some really good vampire decor! You have to check every week starting June or else you'll miss out on the gems.
Here in Brazil we don't have this huge Halloween culture, so seeing you guys showing all these new and cool things is super amazing. I would love to see more details of the creative process of these artists, like the one that produces the masks in a more artisanal way and those that make those realistic people.
I work at a sign shop where we make large durable HDU foam letters. We use multiple coats of Drylock to make them ultra durable. They roll it on instead of brushing to get even coats, and they do like 4-5 coats for maximum durability. This is how you make foam props that people can crawl on.
I loved meeting y’all there at Transworld!! I’m so glad to see y’all had a great time and enjoyed a lot of the stuff there! Can’t wait to see what ideas y’all have gotten from there because I’ve sure gotten a lot more thank last year!! Again so nice to meet y’all and stay safe!!
it’s so crazy how much a flashing light can help the motion look more realistic!! such a cool place, although i think i’m a little too high anxiety to ever actually attend so this is a great vid to experience it through haha!
This looks like a blast. We've always decorated our house for all holidays but Halloween is my favorite. Its nice to see, even a few, animatronics, that are not terrifying. I love seeing the little kids come to our house trick-or-treating. I want to give them a scare, not scar them for life. Props for the Eye of the Beholder shirt. I played that game when I was in college.
I have to add that Morris Costumes has the best customer service. I had an animatronic that was long discontinued and it broke. There were no more replacements so they basically sent me two old armatures to scavenge parts from. I was able to fix my prop with gears from both.
Oh my gosh! At 3:31 I was like…”gosh that guy looks super familiar” and then it hit me like a ton of bricks, he was a contestant on a body painting show I used to watch years ago. Glad to see he’s still doing it! 😂
Thank you so much for your Transworld review. I especially appreciated that you referenced the name of the Vendors with the gear so I can find them on the internet. Great Job!!!!
I would LOVE to go to transworld...Sadly we don't really have much in the UK that's similar and if we do its probably miles from me! These kinds of things are so amazing to me, Id love to learn how to create things in such magnificent detail as these. The artistry is gorgeous, the animatronics are so Fluid and spooky, I love it! Thank you for showing these!
Love love love the format of this video!! There are so many walkthroughs out there, but this is like a newscast in the best way! Your personalities get to shine!
I love the scare factory! My favorite part is where Pumpkin head looks perfect in giant scarecrow, tree monster, or ghost 7:50 - 8:50 This is why I want to make Pumpkin Head into a custom doll because after seeing some movies and posters I was quite disappointed on how he looked from a gargoyle, from Gremlin like alien, but these version are way better. I wish you guys good luck on your collab.
Ok, first; that fog-gun would be PERFECT for a Mr. Freeze costume!! =D #2, and did I spot a Cthulhu...?! #3, YES!!! Do Master Splinter!! : D #4, and once again, shout-out to Distortions Unltd. !! I still love 'Making Monsters'! =)
Interesting that Distortions was your favorite, cause watching one of their videos about the alien/monster attached to the wall was what led me to you guys, you popped up in my feed once I was done with that vid. I really would love to have that alien/monster just for myself it's my favorite thing that they make....one day hopefully. Thanks for sharing your walkthrough, it was super cool to see everything!!
I got so excited over seeing you in Aurelio Voltaire's video, because I didn't get the notification for this one at all! 😭 Halloween culture in Europe is small, vut we're getting there! I can't wait to really get into it this year 🥰
You two are so cute together... I wish I had that kind of connection with a significant other like you guys have. Love and appreciate your passion and delivery! Thank you for sharing your tour with us.
So glad you guys got to go this year! Hopefully I can see you guys next year since I skipped this year. Love the top 23 list, high quality video! You guys rock!
Thanks For Sharing Your Experience at the Show, Thought Alot of the Special Effects So Cool. Glad You Went and Showed Your Highlights of it. So Nice To See How Props Are Made and Staged. Awesome. ☺️💜🥰💕🥳
I love seeing the experience that you guys had. I especially love the explorations into the more individual artists, I am always so blown away by the care and craft and passion that has led to their success.
I got to attend Transworld. This was my 2nd year and I had a blast, came as my alter ego the Punisher...beware!!!! Met some awesome folks this year can't wait to return next year!!
You both are so talented with your Halloween diy passion. I can only imagine how much inspiration was absorbed from this experience. Those animatronics in the dark room had me drooling!! Some of them moved as if paid actors were actually inside them. AND THE BAT!!! I would want in my livingroom all year. Bats are my favorite.
I was watching Distortion's Making Monsters, and found your channel shortly after finishing season 2. I am so stoked to see a full overview of this convention. I hope to one day attend it. There are several artists and companies that I recognized, and it ignited my love for practical effects, Halloween 24/7 baby!! Subscribed to learn and see more of what you guys do!!
Fantastic video, thanks for posting it and sharing your experiences at T W. 2023, especially from those of us who couldn't make it this year, much appreciated! 👍🎃👻
An animatronic exorcist Teddy bear would be a fun project. Spinning head, loose stitches, patchwork, flashing eyes. My buddy made a UFO costume for his kid and has a bunch of foam boards left, we are planing on using your blue prints from the Mimic build and make a whole bunch of presents with teeth.
Awesome work! I made my first animatronic last year and am working on something bigger for this year. Can't wait for your animatronic video to get some tips and tricks.
WOW❣️That was a fantastic tour❗️So many unique characters and animatronics. I really enjoyed that hamburger mask. Some of those creatures were creepily cute and others were beyond gruesome and so realistic. It was great to see some of my favorite classic creatures. The fog gun looked like a real blast. Thanks so much for the great footage and videography. It’s nice to be able to walk around and not be stuck in a booth. Glad you were able to experience this. Very awesomely impressive. 👍
So glad I got to meet you guys at Transworld!!! And that beholder shirt, you better make that massive beholder you talked about! That would be so cool!!!!
Hehe, we used to make the fog canons all the time back in college in the physics department. Shoot them across the physics building's main lobby at each other. The magic of vortices. LOVE the DIY Animatronic stuff. Especially the examples of what to do. Really hope you're able to put together a few videos on how you're doing that. Recently got into Arduino and Adafruit boards and LEDs. Haven't started experimenting with servos yet but it's only my radar of things to get a hold of and play with. What a fun trade show to go to. Would be a blast to walk around and soak it all in.
I love Halloween, like really love Halloween. I got married on Halloween. Unfortunately the rest of my family are not into it. Even my 9 year old... he doesn't like candy! I'm beginning to question if he's really my kid. So, I stopped decorating and passing out candy before the pandemic hit and now Halloween is just very depressing, because I have no one to share it with. The old me would have had so much fun at this expo.

Instant like for Master Splinter. That was my first thought too.
Honestly I love Mr. Poe in the background @15:35
10/10 He needs a cemetery.

I'm also thinking about making my own Krampus outfit, to join up with Krampus Seattle! 😆
The animatronic in the DarkZone where the girl folded in half and sucked into the wall!
