Rick makes a great point, he's the quick money guy, not the get what its worth guy. If the seller is willing to put in the leg work he may be able to get 100k+. You go to a guy like Rick because you DON'T want to put in the leg work and are comfortable taking a loss because of it.

If you have something truly 1 of a kind take it to a reputable auction house rather then a pawn shop. Auctioneer fees range from 10-30%, same as EBAY/[PAYPAL fees, Pawnshops typically want you to sell at 40% or less of the item's value.
