    There is a term called, "That's a tough nut to crack." However with information from this video even the hardest nut can be opened. Well done.

    Better than all the other methods that I saw, all of which were good, but this one is best! And... Having a pool, I actually have a spare pool noodle I didn't know what to do with 😂🤣😂. 20 dry macadamias will be cracked today and I will go harvest some more later! Thank you very very much!!☺️🤗😘

    Thanks 4 sharing. Here in Hawaii the locals get the mac nut soil from the Mac Nut Farms. Super rich full of nutrients. We grow everything in it. Now I have a use for all the leftover Mac nuts in the soil. Takes forever to breakdown the nutrients in solid whole shell. We usually toss the whole nuts. The Mac Nut Farm has 10,000 acres of Mac trees. So imagine the soil and nut content!! Thanks again.

    This video doesn't show how get the outer husk off the macnuts. ???

    • @GardenTricks
      @GardenTricks  3 года назад +1

      Just place the nuts in sun for a few days, the outer husk will become loose and easily come out.

    • @bloggerccc
      @bloggerccc 2 года назад

      Don't want to wait? I found that pinching the whole nut (top and bottom, not sides) in a bench vise bends the husk out of shape enough that the nut either falls out of the husk or can be pulled out with very little effort. Even if the outer husk has not begun to split open on its own, the vise will usually cause it to split. No vise? Buy a pair of cheap C-clamps. One holds the other to a table or bench while the other does the cracking. It's primitive but low-cost and effective. After the nuts are dried, the same rig can be used to crack the shell. Opinions are divided about roasting in the shell, then cracking.

  • @bluzfan190
    @bluzfan190 3 года назад +1

    This is a lot cheaper than buying a new "heavy duty" nut cracker when the nuts keep bending the steel cracker.
