Better than all the other methods that I saw, all of which were good, but this one is best! And... Having a pool, I actually have a spare pool noodle I didn't know what to do with 😂🤣😂. 20 dry macadamias will be cracked today and I will go harvest some more later! Thank you very very much!!☺️🤗😘
Thanks 4 sharing. Here in Hawaii the locals get the mac nut soil from the Mac Nut Farms. Super rich full of nutrients. We grow everything in it. Now I have a use for all the leftover Mac nuts in the soil. Takes forever to breakdown the nutrients in solid whole shell. We usually toss the whole nuts. The Mac Nut Farm has 10,000 acres of Mac trees. So imagine the soil and nut content!! Thanks again.
Thank you for this video it’s really helpful. I bought macadamia at a local farmers market and I was wondering what it’s so cheap, and after coming home I struggled to crack it open.
Oh thank you 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 !!!!!!! From desperation to ecstasy 😂. Thank you so much - to keep them to ripen in shade, bang them to loosen the then - the swimming tube 🎉 🤟🏿
Hello sir, I'm from Vietnam. I am making a Macadamia Nuts Cracker Machine. I want to know how to calculate the Pressure you mention at Step 5. Many thanks, sir!
No wonder macadamia nuts are so much cheaper in the shell! In my opinion, they should be even less expensive! BTW, excellent video! What would we do without pool noodles?!? LOL
@@GardenTricks you are welcome i hinestly think you deserved a compliment after all you probly deal with a ton of haters and so the more peapole are nice to you the better or amithe onlyone that thinks that ?
I put mine in a closed zip lock and hammer it or use a rock. I don't hit it too hard. The baggy stops fragments from flying everywhere. I don't have a pool noodle. 😂
Don't want to wait? I found that pinching the whole nut (top and bottom, not sides) in a bench vise bends the husk out of shape enough that the nut either falls out of the husk or can be pulled out with very little effort. Even if the outer husk has not begun to split open on its own, the vise will usually cause it to split. No vise? Buy a pair of cheap C-clamps. One holds the other to a table or bench while the other does the cracking. It's primitive but low-cost and effective. After the nuts are dried, the same rig can be used to crack the shell. Opinions are divided about roasting in the shell, then cracking.
I buy this nuts in shells, still on my counter , also got think call key to open 🌰,we’ll still can’t open them, broke my meat hummer . Now I need go and buy nuddle to crack nuts. Ya fun .
Hahaha! Bloody Bush Mechanic on the job! Fast, cheap and effective. Excellent, thanks. Gold Star to you, Mate.
It is too late to reply. But thanks a lot.
Good job.
I'm greeting you from North Tapanuli Indonesian.
Hello !!!
There is a term called, "That's a tough nut to crack." However with information from this video even the hardest nut can be opened. Well done.
Thanks for your comments.

Wow. Amazing. We bought various tools that all broke. This was a revelation
Thanks. I evolved this method after I hit my hand.
Ask me about tools breaking. I was almost giving up

Thank you! best technique so far for me.
Thanks.
Imaginative and effective! Thank you,

Why do the store bought shelled macs always have a flat side? Do they cut them in half to shell them? Great video!
In Australia, supermarkets sell either whole Macs with shells or without shells.
I used to crack them with a lug wrench..just seat the nut in one of the four sockets that fits best and wack it on the ground
Excellent idea!!! Thank you!
You are welcome.
This is genius 👏 thank u sir 🙏
So nice of you
Very interesting trick for quick and safe cracking macamdamia nuts.
Thanks for your comments.
What do you do with the macedmia nuts?
It is like almond, very nutritious. We eat them.
smart, I used a Bench Vice at work
Thanks.

The pressure value is from literature, just search from Google.
Thanks are very clever

I don't have a pool noodle. 😂
Good alternative.
This video doesn't show how get the outer husk off the macnuts. ???
Just place the nuts in sun for a few days, the outer husk will become loose and easily come out.
Don't want to wait? I found that pinching the whole nut (top and bottom, not sides) in a bench vise bends the husk out of shape enough that the nut either falls out of the husk or can be pulled out with very little effort. This is a lot cheaper than buying a new "heavy duty" nut cracker when the nuts keep bending the steel cracker.
Thanks for your comments.

I use the shown method to open all the macadamia nuts.
🤣🤣🤣 easy until you reach the "get a blue tube for pool". Well where I live, we don't have those.
You can get a similar thing.
Nice. Perfect. American DIY videos are so useless 😂 they always start with buying things that have already done it for you.
Thanks.
wouldn't call it quick or safe
Not safe? Lol
excellent idea! We have macaws🦜 and of course they have the natural tools to crack open and eat them but I want some to eat too!
Thanks.
