- Macadamia nutcracker, a faster way to get cracking
Hi folks. Here's a short clip looking at the "Queensland Nut" Buster, the nest value macadamia nut cracker I've used.
This has got to be an easier way to crack them than the old finger crushing hammer method & there are no screw threads to strip like previous crackers we've owned. Works great on other nuts like walnuts as well.
Did you know that the macadamia nut is also known as the Queensland nut ?
The "QLD Nut" Busters cost AU$60 each + P&H for Aussies while Overseas folks don't have to pay our GST so they pay AU$54.55 + P&H.

Ah! You're a crack pot! Now I see! ;-)
That's pretty cool-I hadn't seen a macadamia nut in shell before. I bet it would work with hazelnuts too.

I'm glad you're happy with it Leila. Did you buy it from me or directly from Nigel ?
Amazing. Thanks for sharing

+Australian Macadamias
Is one of the best tools we've used.
Cheers.
:-)
Nice little nutcracker! Much better than the one we use.
They do make life a lot easier Patrick & visits to the medicine cabinet ;)
Cheers sir :)
That's a damn fine idea!
Very easy to use Andy.. Our youngest will do a whole bag in no time flat... She only charges us 1 out of every 4 nuts which is cheep in my book ;)
Cheers mate :)
I live in pecan country in the US..I'm getting one of these :) Awesomely simple and effective.
Hope you have fun wit it if you do :)
Normally the kids pinch it off us after using it here & do all the work for us :D
Cheers..
That is a significantly better design then the little silver one I have ! Thanks for sharing !
***** Its easier if the contraption is like a sphincter to crack open the nut.
They are a very handy little unit Stephen :) Has saved us a lot of bruised fingers :D
Cheers Mate..
That's a really cool design Rob Bob, thank you for sharing. I think something like that could be crafted fairly quickly with just a few tools. Awesome video brother.
Glad you liked the look sir :)
Cheers Wayne..
Great Aussie Design... you should check out the Maca Craca as well...
Hey Rob, great video.how do you think it would cope with Nectarine or peach stones with the intent on planting the seeds? Cheers. Chris
Hi Chris.. not to sure to tell you the truth Shall have a crack ;) at one next time we get some fruit..
Cheers :)
Imagine my Surprise.... I’m seeing this, and you back then, in 2018.... wow
✌️❤️😁
:D Just a small change Chris but can't quite put my finger on what it is......
Cheers mate. :)
that's pretty quick i use a vice type one might have to chase one of those up, what did it set you back! got 3 macadamia trees down the front!
+stevencox75 The model there is 45 or 50 with a bag of nuts. There are 3 other models for as low as 35 dollars and as high as 60 dollars hope this helps Steven. Best regards, Call mean.
Very nice! Do you know if that would work on black walnuts?
Sorry I missed this. It should work.
Not bad that one! :) Good idea.
I`m crazy after nuts, and eat them all day long. :)
Cheers,
Halvor.
The Queensland/macadamia nut would have to be my favourite out of all :)
They do cause a few issues when your mowing the lawn though :/ Had many a bruised shin at our last house :D
All the best to you & yours Halvor..
Nice nutcracker Rob!
Is a little ripper Rick..
Cheers mate :)
great stuf, i wish one for my birthday
They are very hand little units.. A few folks have said that they will look into getting one as gifts now :)
Cheers..
Hi Rob, will it work on the black walnut as well? Thank you
It certainly does 😁👍
This page shows Nigel using it on walnuts.
www.bitsouttheback.com/queensland-nut-buster
I got one from the markets at eumundi markets, worked great on the nuts that came with it, but I have I native macadamia tree and the nuts take a lot of force to crack.
The newer varieties have been bread for ease of extraction & kernel size from what Nigel & others have told me Trevor. 👍
thanks a lot.
No problem,
Cheers :)
neat, thanks
No problem, Cheers :)
I understand you have to dry the macadamias in the sun for two to three weeks before you can get them out of the shell. Can we just dry them in the oven instead of out in the sun and will that cut short the time needed to dry them out?
We used to crack them as soon as their green pod peeled off Shoba.
Cheers.
That's unusual. What did you use to crack them. I mean how did you crack them?
Sorry, let me clarify that I am asking how you peeled off the green pod and not how you cracked the shell? By the way, the green pods do turn brown if left too long.
where can I buy this in Australia?
All the details are in the description under the clip.
Cheers.
Took 2:30 to see a nut cracked... that's rough for product reviewers. I do like the item though. Not sure it's a fit for TV to mass market distribution that I work in but bet it will do great in stores around the holidays. Good luck!
I'd love to see you invent products for Tv that solve everyday problems for $19.95. You've got all the skills you need! I pay finders fees, if you'd like to consider becoming a product scout. For more info contact me by email or phone on my Google Profile.

من أين استطيع الحصول على بذورها للزراعة
You could try to plant purchased whole nuts with the shell & see if that works. Would be a good idea to keep the soil moist but not wet.
Cheers.

Damn. The internet told me that macadamia nuts are the hardest to crack. I don't believe them anymore. This was way too easy.
🤣 The Nut Buster does make the job easier. 😉
Black walnut?
The nutcracker's made from Merbau from memory Paul. 👍
Cheers mate.
If only my country's currency hadn't devalued so much this year.... I'll try to find another way round it.
Fair enough Rodrigo. Hope things improve soon.
@@RobsAquaponics They will but our currency won't value against the dollar any time soon. Thank you!
