2:40 Dang, those macadamia nuts have a _lot_ of calories. Back in the '90s, a woman who freelanced for the company lived in Hawaii, and she'd come to the office once a year or so, and she'd always bring boxes of chocolate-dipped macadamia nuts. I was young, and could take the calories, but my remembering is that that those were WONDERFUL.
Do we need to bin the cooking water from a pressure cooker because it contains lectins from the food? Or is it safe to use because the lectins in it are “dead”?
Dr Gundry… I love your podcasts…so informative, I learn so much from you! I wish you could do a podcast on ITP, it is so hard to find nutrition information on this disorder. The Hematologist I went to 12 years ago just said “ oh you probably have some type of autoimmune disorder and sent me on my way” no help, no recommendations, nothing. I’m always trying to find some type of nutritional help. My platelets are usually in a range of 100-125 , so not too bad. But would love to see your take on it!❤
I started eating these about 2 months ago. I eat about 8 of them every day at lunch time. Not sure if that's enough for the health benefits.....hope so. I just worry about eating too many due to the high fat content (like every nut has).
Who says the fats in macadamia nuts are the kind that will lead to weight gain as with visceral fats? As far as I know, they do not belong to the category of fats that are produced primarily from fructose and are stored in the liver and visceral fatty deposits.
Dr. Gundry, I often snack on seeds and nuts while driving to stay awake. What are your thoughts on sunflower, seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, and pistachios?
As far as I know you should avoid sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Please don’t overdo nuts. I got kidney stones from eating too much nuts regularly because I thought they contain a lot of healthy fats. One handful a day. It’s not natural to be able to munch on so high amounts that we can buy today (in XXL packs 😅)! It can‘t hurt to read or listen to (I love Audible) to his book about lectins, called ‚plant paradox‘. I highly recommend it, because you should stop irritating your gut. Then learn how to feed the microbes there correctly and then how to feed and grow mitochondria.
No pumpkin, sunflower, cashew or Chia seeds. Yes to whole ground flax, hemp seeds. No more than 3 Brazil nuts a day. , Macadamia, pistachios and pinenuts are OK.
I eat at least one cup of macadamia nuts every day plus at least a cup of peanuts every day. I have done this for two years. Instead of adding weight I have lost 11 pounds. Why is this going opposite what you are saying
we are mahina mele farm, we produce organic dehydrated macadamia nuts, farm-direct. Youll never taste fresher macadamia nuts. mahalo kollette and jason stith
I don’t understand… so they stop you from putting on weight… but that’s only if you eat approximately 2 cups (a huge amount). But then 10 nuts results to 200+ Kcals? In other words lots of (healthy) fats and calorific. Seems counter productive. 2 cups would probably be around 50 nuts… 1000Kcals? The math isn’t mathing. Surely I’m not the only one puzzled. I’m sure like most whole foods, nuts especially, are very healthy but for weight loss these stats seem like a double edged sword. How can you use these nuts effectively?

Thank you, Dr. Gundry! Always informative and helpful! 😊
Good presentation 👍👍
Informative video ♥

Thank you for your best advice.
Hi so we should eat macadamia nuts blanched?? Can we make macadamia flour?
Great advice! Thanks Dr Gundry!
Thanks for the oil tip
Dr Gundry
Omg this was confusing! I just started adding them to my diet. I dont love them but im experimenting.
I love macadamia, as tasty as expensive, but it pays!
i get deals,5 kilos 100€ in spain
20 a kilo not bad
Here in the uk I buy the nuts in butter form, it works out much cheaper!

we at mahina mele farm, also produce macadamia nut oil with our gourmet nuts.

Bruh. Calories in calories out. They will make you fat. This is a dumb comment lol
Great Snack! Second favorite to my Pistachios 😋
Same!!
How come nuts cause so much health havoc for some people? Pistachios, macadamia, etc. Is it possible to overcome a nut allergy?
they're so good
the macadamia is native to Australia and has been a staple for indigenous people.
The info here is great. Unfortunately the video itself is very bad editted. The cuts make the video (image wise) quite difficult to follow
Only issue I have is I cant stop eating them. I ate a third of a big costco bag in one day.
Same here also😅
Are Macadamia Nuts alkaline? Or is it acidic?
Can ckd patients eat macadamian nuts?
What about oxalates, lectins, phytic acid etc ?
Lowest of all the nuts
the nuts have bad pesticide/herbicides on them?
No. Shell.
Weight gain / weight loss??? Confusing
Because they're high in calories and nutrition. Dose determines the poison.
what about oxalate in them?
they are low in oxalates. Almonds and cashews have like 5 times more...
The problem with these nuts are the price.

No health benefits for me. I will puke them up, with a ton of acid, within 40 minutes of eating them.
Thank you. @@luannefleming9260

I don’t gain weight and I eat 100 plus grams of those a day
Me too. And I eat 230g a day!
Wow, that’s a lot of nuts and yous still don’t gain weight, I want to gain weight so I’m going to try this in anyways
Hmmm macadamia nut shall make a good dairy replacement for my healthy hamburger helper recipe
I really want to gain weight so I’m gonna get a bunch of macadamia nuts
I usually ate a whole pack of macadamia nuts 140g in one sitting. About 2-3 times a week. But i haven’t gained any weight 😂
Hi Dr Steven. Thank you so so much for all of your videos. I am just wondering what do you think about soy milk. It is the only milk I like
Maybe eating foods that contain these lectins and zero useful nutrients isn't worth the squeeze

Wow !
Rich peoples food. I need a diet for poor people living.
They think everyone is rich enough to afford them.
Try McDonald's dollar menu
they are expensive nuts, not for the poor or not working crowed.
In my country Kenya they are very cheap we grow them. A kg of uncracked macadamia nuts is like $1.5
There not as expensive as you think when you look at calorie density.
@@kingofkings2934that’s a good point. It’s usually hikers/backpackers who think of calorie density
@@lshiglobalKweli kabisa.
Same price as most other nuts.
All the other nutritional youtube "influencers" and now you? ugh.
these nuts can cause terrible constipation
I have constipation
What’s about oxalates..? Hmmm. Are they good for your health..? I do not think so ….
scammer alert.
Meooooooooow
