That looks so good! I'm not very near Kobe so I've never visited, but if I get a chance to I'll definitely try that! But I'd like to try the raw Kobe beef first
4:49 - 7480 Yen (66.15 US Dollars) for the special Kobe tenderloin steak dinner. 5480 Yen (48.46 US Dollars) for the beef sirloin steak dinner. Actually that's not bad. A teppanyaki steak dinner could go around $150 to $200 per person in Tokyo.
+thaloh Kobe is one of the few steaks you actually DON'T want to eat rare. Cuts of meat that are nicely marbled usually taste better when cooked medium / medium rare. That way the fat renders/melts and seeps into the meat a little bit. =) It will still be incredibly tender due to how well marbled it is.
The brown squares are konyaku - it's like a calorie free jelly. The cornflakes are deep fried garlic chips fried in butter - sounds rich but tastes awesome!
trickySK I agree, I was thinking the same thing but I think it's just part of the 'teppanyaki' experience so that you can easily eat while watching them cook the rest of your sides. Still tasted as juicy as ever, I think Kobe steak can afford to lose some juice since there is so much fat content.
6980 yen for the special Kobe beef sirloin 7480 yen for the special Kobe beef tenderloin (that's the fattier one towards the end of the video) 5480 yen for the Kobe beef sirloin (leaner one right at the end of the video) They were the dinner set menu prices
you're an idiot then. unless you're getting multiple bottles of alcohol and eating at trash tourist traps, you're overpaying by way to much. I just got back from Japan last month and was able to get a 4 course with a5 sirloin @ ishida in Kobe for less than $100.
All Kobe is Wagyu, but not all Wagyu is Kobe. The most exclusive Wagyu in the world comes from Kobe, Japan. This may not have been the highest grade Kobe beef, but it sure tasted awesome!
+cat nip it would indeed, but I think there's so many rice meals in Japan, they wanted to be different and added the croissant/bread instead. Weird combo but the beef doesn't really need any sides. It's super tasty on its own!
Those steaks look absolutely delicious, but do the staff let you dine at your own pace? Watching videos of people going to top sushi restaurants, being served gorgeous things from the top sushi masters, is how rushed the expensive experience appears to be. Some of these two and three-Michelin-star sushi restaurants are just tiny bars that seat a dozen or so guests. Like in that documentary, Jiro Dreams of Sushi, that 10-seat sushi bar was run like a railroad. Place is booked for a month in advance. Ten guests are seated, over 20 minutes each are given 20 pieces of sushi to wolf down, pay and get out within 30 minutes for the next ten people to be seated. At $300 each, that's $6000 per hour. But experience looks definitely rushed. Paying a hundred dollars per person with some really good drinks at a top steakhouse to dine at leisure over a few hours seems like a much nicer experience to me.
Bat Guano the meat couldn't cook quickly enough for us at this place. We were drooling from the moment we sat down so it seemed polite to wait until the chef finished cooking up the verges but we wanted to dig it soon. So yes, it not rushed since it's a large restaurant with seats upstairs too. It is a shame about that $300/20 minutes place you mentioned. I shall have a look at that doco!
That is the most elegant way for making food i ever seen.
Makes for an interesting meal. Wish I could eat it all the time! Thanks for watching
The dexterity and precision is amazing !!!
master chef at work
The Yellowbus thanks for watching and your comment! I wasn’t really expecting A teppanyaki cook, so it was a nice bonus!
I also had Kobe beef there. Truly delicious. 美味しかった。
美味しかったかぁ~~ w
I've never eaten it(But I'm Japanese LOOOL)
So I wanna eat it :-)
Bring me back to Japan! I want some Kobe beef! Yum!!!

Wow looks great! The place itself is called steakland ??
Yes - Steakland is the name of the restaurant
That knife is so sleek and sharp
where can i get that knife
That looks so good! I'm not very near Kobe so I've never visited, but if I get a chance to I'll definitely try that! But I'd like to try the raw Kobe beef first
Steak Land. That is a training ground for the best teppanyaki chefs
@scott b - really? That's cool. They seem like they are on autopilot when cooking.
4:49 - 7480 Yen (66.15 US Dollars) for the special Kobe tenderloin steak dinner.
5480 Yen (48.46 US Dollars) for the beef sirloin steak dinner.

only 7 restaurants in japan sells real kobe beef
anthony liang They have a special license for that near-exclusive right?
i meant united states, only 8 (not 7) in the US are legit kobe beef
anthony liang I thought Japan absolutely forbids any of their Kobe beef to be sold outside of their country.
The only place serving Kobe in my city in Canada is 300$ for 4 ounces
In about 2 weeks a steak like that will be in my mouth :D
Patrik Josefsson - lucky you! Enjoy every single morsel :) have a good trip
Thanks! I will!
Is that just for one person or we can share for one set meal?
LadieMCN Th set meals are just for one person. In The video, the chef was making two servings for us, hope that helps and you get to try it!
Now I want to go to Japan :D
u better have $$$$$!
I am very glad to have such a thing say!
My God, look at that marbling! This is the only steak I would not mind eating rare!
Agreed. I have tried rare, medium rare and even medium. Too fibrous and chewy for me. This however, i would eat it raw!
Totally melts in the mouth. Totally worth it!
+thaloh Kobe is one of the few steaks you actually DON'T want to eat rare. Cuts of meat that are nicely marbled usually taste better when cooked medium / medium rare. what are those brown squares and corn flakes?
The brown squares are konyaku - it's like a calorie free jelly.
The cornflakes are deep fried garlic chips fried in butter - sounds rich but tastes awesome!
Jesus cant you read? it fried garlic
Míu Angel lol
this was $60?
How much does that much Koby cost in Japan? :O
See reply to Matt Leblanc in the comments :)
Watch the video again, but I think it said 6980 Yen, which is about $60 in USD
why are the steaks cut? is it some specialty? cause the steak will loose all the juice. and the salt at the start will push it out too..
trickySK I agree, I was thinking the same thing but I think it's just part of the 'teppanyaki' experience so that you can easily eat while watching them cook the rest of your sides. Still tasted as juicy as ever, I think Kobe steak can afford to lose some juice since there is so much fat content.
oh, thanks for explanation..
Because people use chopsticks.
SS that's a pretty good reason too! Never thought of that but it's pretty reasonable a reason in Japan!
Most Asian eating customs do not use knives at the table
Did this place accept credit cards at all?
Mike D yes, visa or MasterCard, its tourist friendly :)
Thats Toriko food right there!!
Go Toriko!
+HungryTravels Awesome!
Not a bad price at all!
does anyone know how much this plate wouldve costed?
6980 yen for the special Kobe beef sirloin
7480 yen for the special Kobe beef tenderloin (that's the fattier one towards the end of the video)
5480 yen for the Kobe beef sirloin (leaner one right at the end of the video)
They were the dinner set menu prices

you're an idiot then. unless you're getting multiple bottles of alcohol and eating at trash tourist traps, you're overpaying by way to much. I just got back from Japan last month and was able to get a 4 course with a5 sirloin @ ishida in Kobe for less than $100.
Playstyle94 is ishida the restaurant name?
神戸牛ステーキ ishida. 三宮店
is it the 13,800 yen one? that's about 90 USD. Any other restaurant you would recommend?
7480 yen? that's just 44 bucks. i've heard so much about kobe beef and for it's rep it's pretty cheap! sweet
7480 is about 65 dollars actually
That's bull shit Kobe beef cost 500 $ per pound lol idk what kind of meet they are eating
They are eating beef beef Kobe in Japanese is beef the real one is called wagyu beef Kobe beef is just beef beef lol
All Kobe is Wagyu, but not all Wagyu is Kobe. The most exclusive Wagyu in the world comes from Kobe, Japan. This may not have been the highest grade Kobe beef, but it sure tasted awesome!
Diego Brando Kobe isn’t Japanese for beef lol. Kobe is a city in Japan known for its beef
Quite expensive for what you get
Good lord man
looks more like rump to me by the grain of it. (the serloin)
jesus all the marbling makes it look more like a sausage when he made strips and flipped to show the interior
Yummmmm - natural fat ftw :)
I want that knife to cut my steak. My thumbs and fingers almost break when trying to cut a piece.
Get your knives sharpened. Or be a man and learn how to do it yourself.
BullrockMcHammergeil Dw. I just need sharp knives.
5Sush0 Then buy good quality knives and get them sharpened on the reg.
BullrockMcHammergeil Yes, I will try, thanks.
this particular knife might be extra sharp. However, I think the extremely high fat content of this beef also played a role
1:37 fail
+Mason Reynolds lol
?
KOBE BEEF! ahhh...expensive name!
what no rice ???
i think that will go well w/ fried rice :D
+cat nip it would indeed, but I think there's so many rice meals in Japan, they wanted to be different and added the croissant/bread instead. Weird combo but the beef doesn't really need any sides. It's super tasty on its own!
Thats not Kyoto, thats Osaka, you can see the Sky Umeda Building on the horizon.
Vinchy it was in Kobe! Opposite Kobe sannomiya station :)
the finer things..mmmmmm
What’s the Japanese word for “ profit “…..😂
Haha yep what a money spinner
The Chinese would whip it up in a wok in 5 minutes.
:(
I doubt that is real A15 wegayu. I doubt it

It is not real Kobe beef. Actually, it is the low grade wagyu beef.
croissant? WTF?
Lol! I thought that too but still orders it and it tasted a bit ordinary, should've known!
Lol me too
+Kongolo Kazadi ha- curiosity got the better of us
lol kobe beef sadly does not originate from kobe
adana kebab > kobe beef
murat aktaş lol I rate charcoal Adana goodness too. But this melt in the mouth beef...droool
다 뭐라는겨..못알아듣겠네
The Japanese try to make so many things into an art form, ultimately it's a peice of raw meat with a crispy surface. Just culinary BS.
The show is not that great, I would staved.
+medaman The meat doesn't need a show :) it's amazing on its own
HungryTravels
A lot of nothing. I am hungry now !!
who isnt?!
