    Thank you for posting this video! In the first 2 minutes, you taught me some steps that really helped my F2L. I don't like looking at algorithm/cube notation, so the video and the way you teach is very effective for me. Good job, bubba!

    hey guys, everyone wants memyselfandpi to write the algorithms, but i figured i would do it. i will order them by the way he showed them to us (the corners and edges) ten at a time.
    1= F U Ri
    2= L U Li F U Ri
    3= Fi U2/Ui F2 U Ri
    4= U Li U L Ui F U Ri
    5= Fi U2 F Ui Li U L

    THIS IS A GREAT TUTORIAL FOR ALL THOSE WHO SAY ITS NOT, These steps are not algorithms, but if you use simple logic, you can easily solve it, I have been doing f2l for 1 week now, and so far I am getting better at it, I may be slow, but i'm getting there. This tutorial is great for when you find those cases where you end up thinking about it a lot, I am pretty sure he has all of those cases here, because there is not one on this tutorial that I havent encountered.

    This will help me out on F2L a little bit, I've just been using a sort of "brute force" F2L where I sometimes use a few more moves to get the easy R U R' case rather than solving the other cases the way they should, since I'm not quite as fast at recognizing them or knowing what to do.

    Just some constructive feedback, I tried to start learning F2L here but was totally confused and could not keep up, it was just too fast for someone who had never seen F2L before, then I went to badmephisto's video's and I was able to understand his much easier, because his video goes through every step in great detail and gives algorithm's. However I came back too yours after I had grasped the basics and it is very helpful!! Covers every scenario in great detail!

    I have two thoughts:
    1: Thank you for going into the level of detail you do in this video. I already know f2l a bit, but there were some things I didn't know. I have an average of around 1:00 +/- 5 seconds, and I'm trying to learn some new methods to help get my solves down closer to 45 seconds, and I'm sure these will help.
    2: Are those Cubesmith smooth tiles, stickers, or what? In the video the red/orange look very similar. Is this just the video, or are the stickers really that close?

    He took some core cube solving and just showed you most common F2L cases and how to tackle them. Granted no algorithms were demonstrated, but if you're gonna start learning brute-force sequences then there are over 40 or so that you should be reading up on.
    He did a good job showing the cases, if this video didn't help you because somehow "turn here and turn here" is not as effective as "R, U, R prime..." to you then just move on.

    For all of you who are wondering, YES, this is the faster method, or one of the faster methods. It's possible to get very fast with the layer-by-layer method... for example, I just reached 0m 30s... but until I learn an alternative, like this f2l/oll/pll set, I will never be able to compete with the real masters.
    I have witnessed a 10 second solution in person. (One of my friends is a competitor.)

    i times myself with each one after i replied to you. my times were(im a really slow solver) rubiks:1:10 guhong:0:58 (minutes: seconds). my rubiks cube is actually a lot better than one out of the box. i have lubed it and it can cut about 40* but no reverse corner cutting and it is semi fast.

  • @MrJacksGuitar

    @XMashomet9o9 It's 'pillowed.' Because it's impossible to make a cube that size that will not break without it because the corners would come off while turning.

    what i do is i read the algorithm and do it at the same time. eventually, it will go back to being solved. so, starting with it solved, just keep doing the algorithm over and over, until you have it in your muscle memory. this will only work for algorithms with less than ten notations. well, for me anyway. but, ti will put the algs in your muscle memory faster.

    A piece may be turned wrong, it is always smart to make sure none of the "cubies" as they are called, are facing a bad/wrong way, making the cube literally unsolvable. take it apart, and put it back together in a "solved position" and then try doing this again. it should work, if not, PM me directly, and ill skype you through it.

    @MrHairyBallsFTW This takes a while to get good at, it used to take me like 2 minutes just to do F2L, but with practice, like anything, I got it down to around 20 seconds. If you have trouble with F2L, type in 'CFOP F2L' on google and it has instructions for algorithms and stuff that will help you with that and Pi's instructions for the rest is probably the best to be honest. Good luck.
