- That's a little radio-talk that I made between the marines down in Black Mesa and their commander, the radio sounds are taken from the original half-life 1 grunts, I hope you'll enjoy this :P
Imagine someone making a siri like thing with these voices.

The most Badass military ever. The AI for the HECU grunts were top notch back in the day and even holds up today!

Late 90's fps AI is still way better than most games today. AAA fps AI today is just them taking cover and then poking out for you to easily snipe them. HECU grunts and MOH nazis were constantly flanking, using grenades and dodging your bullets
It's kind of funny. If I get it right, they kinda sound more combine-ish than the Combine in some way.
they did base the combine voices from the grunts
I blast this over the com on dayz to freak out people when im all decked out in military gear its so funny

I used these sounds once , on a radio station , they freaked out tought they entered a military frequency :))
they don't even sound human...

They're trained to speak like that for clarity. Obviously it wouldn't sound clear from a distance, but when you're wearing the comm sets, it sounds much clearer.

... I think that half of the marines are actually robots with AI that choose words from a list and play them one after another to speak. :|

these guys are WAY better than Combine. They were tougher, had better AI, and were more badass. Also, their voices were creepy, and made them more intimidating.

Change your pitching next time when you use the command with the grunt VOX use this lil thing for example: speak “hgrunt/clik (p110) squad! neutralize! freeman! (p100) clik”
or use (e100) on new lines so it doesn’t constantly gain speed.

ok i think i get it now, grunts could not handle it, so black ops sent in the bomb, to take down the whole facility, man what a story!! lol
This doesn't even sound like normal human speech. Why not have radio for the masked people other than the unmasked?

These guys were tough as hell, especially black ops, compared to the combine.

These guys always sounded less human than even the Combine of the second game. Made me think they were scarier because of their stilted speech patterns. Best line of Half-Life was always "Shit!!! We got. Hostiles!!!"
Do a marine radiosound clip from Opposing force too! There's more from which to choose there.

@whatayaDO543 Agreed,but the Combine beat HECU in number. You only saw 2 or 3 HECU's at once,while you could see up to 9 Combine at once.

anybody have an idea what hl2 grunts are saying? what's that "up wait up wait up wait" or it's "no pain no pain no pain" or whatever else...? i know they say "one down" and few more.
so they are supposed to be the good guys, but because of a nerd, freeman attacks them and they turned hostile?
They are supposed to rush in black mesa and kill all personnel and alien threat, cleaning the base from the experiments evidences

maybe cuz it's an old classic game. AND it was a killer-game at that time. pauses mean the beginning and the end of .wav file =] i have them all in my pc if someone would like to have them...

They sound like really bad actors. SHIT-WE-GOT-HOSTILES! WHY-CAN'T-I-STOP-PAUSING-BETWEEN-EVERY-WORD!?
Except Striders would blow up the Abrams weak armor. THOUGH i admit, every HECU infentry unit works differently. All Overwatch units are programmed exactly the same. AND the HECU are topfucked soldiers in the universe. When it comes Overwatch against HECU in firefight, HECU owns the battle.
when i beat HL1, i killed many aliens and soldiers...when i beat HL2 i killed many aleins and combine... when i beat- nevermind :p
