Movement. Feeling. Journey. Way of life. HIP HOP. Pioneers and everlasting artists engrained their footprint into the culture and turned up to celebrate the monumental #HipHop50Live. Journey into the mind of Mannie Fresh as he hustled on the big stage and held up the torch for the South. The DJ, record producer, and rapper set it off in 1984 with arguably the first Hip Hop crew from his homestead, New Orleans. But don’t get it twisted. He held it down on the East Coast and beyond.
From his group ‘Big Tymers' to his artistry at Cash Money Records to collaborating with influential figures of the game like Lil Wayne, Drake, Ashanti, Lauryn Hill, Method Man, and RZA (to name a few), Byron Otto Thomas will always be at the forefront of this thing we call Hip Hop.
It doesn’t end here. Check out the link below to take Mannie’s advice and get to know the pioneers of the culture at The Hip Hop Museum Tour, coming to a city near you!
''Do not just call this the 50 years of Hip Hop, and we don’t do this again until 100 years from now. This should always be around. Somebody came before you...get to know them.” - Mannie Fresh

I highly recommend that anyone who is a fan just go back and listen to Cash Money's albums in the 90s and early 2000's. He is the sound of Cash Money. When he left, that sound left too.

👍🔥
Manny co produced 400 degreez album. And till this day them beats are still on fire 🔥.
My favorite rap album of all time is the Big Tymers How you Luv dat volume 2. 9th grade when I heard " Big Ballin" I called my cousin Tiawon and said " I don't know who these dudes on this video called Big ballin but they talking about everything we wanted as teenagers. Gave my best friend the nickname Danny Fresh and I quietly was Birdman because they were everything to me in high-school. Birdman needs to pay Fresh and they drop one last album BigTymers ball til you fall or balling til the casket drops 🤷♂️ 13 songs 5 just them two, one solo track, each, 2 skits, the rest YMCMB or rich gang members no outsiders like they used to. I bet the world would Luv dat !
Manny is definitely right, DJing is not about the money. Most DJ start out playing for free just so they can show people that they can rock a crowd. Back in the days in New York and where I'm from Brooklyn nobody paid us to bring our music out in the streets, We used electric from a Lamp post and started rocking. 🎤🎧 🎛🎶🎛 seeing people dancing and having fun was enough payment for us. They don't do that today, it's all about the bag💰💸
Dj save my life❤❤❤❤ go chubby boi❤❤❤❤❤
