When mana drain came out mana bur was still a ting, in theory it would force the blue mage to cast spells on their turn or take damage

Ah I see, I forgot about mana burn. That makes sense.
@@yougotbelled127 Back then Magic had a mechanic called "Mana Burn". "Mana Burn" made it so that when the mana pool was emptied, any floating mana would deal damage to that player. That mechanic has been removed and then Mana Drain became one of the best counterspells in the game.
I get that last guys deck. To win in a format where the average deck is much stronger than your standard deck, you have to win with numbers. 4 decent standard decks together surely can take on a timeless deck.
The classic 300 card deck hits nothing but gas the whole time while the real deck flounders gameplay

I literally never saw a 250 card deck that didn't curve perfectly. Back when that cancer was still in rotation, I lost count of how many t2 Luminarch Aspirants I saw out of these decks.

This is evolution. The past few decks, Crim has had Mana Drain, but mostly just passed and wasted the free mana afterward. Finally he has an outlet for it.
Crim, please play your own version of that last deck. 300+ cards, just put in all your favorite cards with fun synergies ala a Mega Brawl deck. And then go hunting Mill. They concede during mulligans? You hunted mill. They stick around and try to play the game? You get to play your favorite 300 cards on Arena WHILE HUNTING MILL. Bonus points for running it full WUBRG. Double bonus points for running singletons.

It seems Crim thought Aether Hub just always taps for any color, or he forgot that he had used up the energy. He eventually figures it out when he is unable to cast mana drain off of Aether Hub a couple turns later

At 17:40 ish Crim was wanting to potentially get rid of his "One Ring" after he had animated it. But he also had "Eldrazi Displacer" on the field and while "One Ring" was a creature, he could've blinked it and reset the counters.
