@@11macedonian Opponent punted by embleming Jace instead of taking the opportunity to exile the Altar. Admittedly, it's not the most obvious punt since it was pretty hard to predict that Altar would become such a threat in one turn, but I think exiling *something* was the right move since when your opponent draws roughly 50 cards per turn and has 100 mana on board, "counter the first spell each turn" is a lot less impactful than it normally is
I really cant imagine playing decks like these on paper. One turn probably takes at least 10-20 mins and them multiply it by 4 and boom one game eats up the entire session.
I disagree, in paper magic you can shortcut a lot of things you cant on arena, also you can just explain your combo win and not waste everyone's time digging for it. Also there are 2 other players to help negate someone running away with the game like that.
@jasonhicks9262 definitely not how most commander sessions go with my play group atleast. Most times the decks we build aren't trying to disrupt the other players because there's 3 or more of them. Arena's meta is different being a 1v1 format. As someone who used to play MTGO commander, I also believe the digital format streamlines sessions compared to paper. Remembering triggers, placing proxies for tokens, counters, emblems, etc. If I'm honest, the paper magic commander scene, aside from connecting people IRL, is only really good for teaching new players the format as they can make mistakes, undo actions, and get direction from the other players in real time. The 2 digital formats force commitment to many actions and don't support effective communication.
@@Skyhighjettalone Our playgroup and the LGS I play at, play pretty fast games for the most part. The rare exception is a long game, I would say in a 4-6 hour session we get 12-20 games in. Our particular play group has decided we want more games not longer games, which translates into the same thing happening when we play PUG games, out decks are meant to win/lose in a reasonable time, or at the very least set someone up to win the game.

Not a Loot Hater, but a 3mana "play Magic The Gathering and get hella value" card is kinda obscene lol. Sick deck as always LVD , thanks for the daily content!
When you start the card by card break-down of a commander deck like that, are you like excited to talk about them all or you're more like "Okay, here we go..." ?
I keep warning people Loot is an ugly kind of cute but also a dire threat. At the least he nets you +2 cards while deck thinning. IN TEMUR. There are no bad builds with him as you can even go really silly because he'll usually pick up cards to make up for it. When built right? He's a tier 0 EDH. I bet with the right pile you could make him CEDH even.
Tribal/kindred is a card type, not a supertype! In order for Altar of the Goyf to have the type "Tribal Artifact - Lhurgoyf," the subtype Lhurgoyf has to have a card type (not supertype!) that it "attaches" to. Lhurgoyf is not the name of an Artifact subtype (like "Food" or "Clue"), so Tribal being a card type allows creature subtypes to be present on non-creature cards.
I just wanted to take this video as an opportunity to say something: Back when you stated the format you were playing in the video title, I would keep up with almost every upload on the formats I cared about. I watched for years. Your titles now are fun, but I didn't want to have to check every video to find out which format the deck/games were, so I've watched very little. It's been many months since you made that change, and your channel is still doing great it seems, so what do I know. But I just wanted to bring up why you may have bled some potential viewership. For example, if I see "Brawl" in a title or thumbnail, I'd probably click immediately, but each time I click excitedly on one of your thumbnails and it's Standard, it feels especially disappointing. I'm sure you weighed out the risk/benefit when you made the decision - I just wanted to provide feedback from one potential viewer perspective, which many may share.
Thanks for the feedback! While I'm aware of the problem you described, there's also the exact opposite scenario where people actively ignore certain formats, whereas if they gave them a chance they might end up enjoying the content. Ideally every video would attract a similar audience so I have the freedom of jumping around to avoid burning out on one format. Make sure to check out the format playlists on my channel page to catch up on all the Brawl videos you may have missed.
@@LegenVD Thanks for responding! I had suspected that what you said here was the reason for the change. And I hadn't realized that videos were sorted into format-specific playlists. I love seeing the eternal 60-card formats as well :) cheers!
It’ll always be tribal, I don’t really care what they change it to tbh. What ever happened to typal? How long before kindred is deemed offensive to another group arbitrarily and it changes again? What a joke…
@@the-four-seven that’s not how quotes work. I said I don’t care what they change it to I’ll still call it tribal. Your ‘quote’ fundamentally changes the entire statement into something else entirely. Thats called a strawman.
God shut up. So much whining over literally less than nothing. Oh no people might feel more comfortable when I use more inclusive language what an absolute trial for me!
Love this channel but godamn that card art is hideous. Really seams like something that AI could create. Amazing how shit Mtg art has become since they decided to gentrify the multiverse.
Most players would scoop to that emblem in game 2. LVD is not most players. What a game.
Either emblem, honestly, but he won despite both.
Beating an emblem is very satisfying
Agreed. That was sick.
I would have been that person to scoop. I’m amazed he won

Good point!
Beats a teferi emblem
Beats Golos
Beats Poq

What a house
Streamer queue. Gotta be 😭
That Vorinclex miss oof.
No wonder I suddenly was playing against a bunch of Loot decks on the Brawl queue.
Love the brawl content. Hope the patrons are interested in standard brawl, lots of creativity there rn

Glad you like them!
First opponent had an interesting deck, monoblack no removal. Quite unusual.
Love the content. Always great work. Thanks man. Appreciate it.
Has enough non-ward threats that the opponents seemed to ignore the commander.
I would love to see him make an Abuelo brawl deck. Quickly becoming my favorite commander
Would love to see a Ghired deck! Nice work!
That was a fun deck! And a reminder of my curious desire for a Bristly Bob T Shirt
Just a silly non important trivia, but this video was originally titled "Loot, the key to value town."
(much prefer that titled imo.)
I have a final exam in 90 minutes. Guess what I'm doing?

The pet fox looking kind of jealous today
The "your go" opponents irk me, like he's going through the motions as fast as he can, man. It's just a brawl game. It isn't that serious lmao
The anonymity of Arena brings out the saltiness of people.
Awww Did no creators do the Bonny Paul event for the good art?
I would put Shigeki in this deck, it being 2 card types and a bit of a ramp/graveyard recursion is nice

Wait, tribal/kindred counts into Loot‘s ability?
Yup, it's a separate card type. Look at the reminder text on OG Tarmogoyf. scryfall.com/card/fut/153/tarmogoyf
Tribal/kindred is a card type, not a supertype!
In order for Altar of the Goyf to have the type "Tribal Artifact - Lhurgoyf," the subtype Lhurgoyf has to have a card type (not supertype!) that it "attaches" to.
